  1. Here's the build I made Near Perma hasten Softcapped S/L/M, 41% F/C, and 37% AOE defense Resists: capped S/L, 74.6% (capped) Psionics, 42% E 66% N, 74.2% F/C, 35% Toxic Conserve power for attack chains against sustained targets (AV/Bosses) so that you really don't run out of end much Has SS travel power Can "stealth" missions Gaussian's proc in Tactics so it fires off pretty often (nice 100% bonuses) Ablative Strike and Sweeping Strike are socketed with -res procs so the DPS on this is actually pretty great, has Critical Strikes ATO in the aura so it constantly goes off far more than 1 PPM and effortlessly. 2. I don't particularly care for DM most situations because it just lacks good AOE, you can't get around that your two aoe's are Soul Drain and Shadow Maul, one is more for buffing yourself than actually doing damage, the other is a suboptimal cone. I'm going to be honest, if you ever really want DM, roll a Stalker, they will just deal more damage on ST in most cases and are more worth your time for all the AOE lost. Fire however has two very decent AOEs that I consider much better and the ST damage on fire is quite nice. I would pick DM over fire in the situations where you can get a proc-monkey AOE power. I'd pick these with Dark/: Dark/Bio (DNA siphon can be proc monkey'd) Dark/Shield (shield charge can be proc monkey'd) Dark/Rad (two great AOE proc monkeys: ground zero and radiation therapy) Dark/Fiery (burn and double aura) Dark/Dark (dark regeneration can be proc monkey'd) All other secondaries I would choose Fiery Melee due to the fact that the other secondaries don't offer a way to really improve your AOE capability. Most do not want to sit in a battle and cone or ST a mob until they all one-by-one crumble, it's really slow. These are the secondaries that can be proc-monkey'd with their heals or give an AOE to help you with AOE damage.
  3. Something I think is *very* worth mentioning is the fact that Savage Melee/Shield (savage leap) is flat out a better version of Electric Melee/Shield (lightning rod)... Savage Leap is ACTUALLY CRITICAL-ABLE (not a psuedopet)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is also a 40s cooldown base over a 90s cooldown base on Lightning Rod. Savage Melee has an excellent PBAOE that deals its damage consistently to all targets... Electric has well nothing like that (thunderstrike does damage to one opponent hard and the rest it gives a very low "shockwave") Savage Melee does far higher ST damage than Electric. People are really sleeping on this combination and are making Elec/Shields IMO for very little reason other than the "hype" Elec/Shield has garnered over the years.
  4. I'd rate the following as "terrible" combinations (when I say this, it doesn't mean that it can literally do nothing or can't be good in some aspect, it just means that it is in general inferior to even mediocre combinations!): 1. Petless... Do I really have to explain this? 2. Mercenaries/Trick... Same as the above, but these minions are even worse lol! 3. Beast/Trick... Not a whole lot of damage, the minions don't survive and this soft control secondary does not seem to provide anything that these minions truly need... I'd rate the next sets as "bad": 3. Mercenaries/Empathy... Not quite as bad as Trick because at least empathy allows you to heal your pets but Empathy is unfortunately in my and most's opinions just too single-focused (single target heal, single target fortitude, etc.) it can be played and made decent but there are definitely much better combinations. 4. Beast/Empathy... Same as the above beasts are just slightly better! 5. Ninjas/Empathy... Not the worst possible but definitely there are better, empathy again as discussed early is very single-target focused buffing and healing so I feel this is a wasted opportunity to really get the most out of Ninjas which they really need extra survival. 6. Mercs/Everything (except time nature and dark)... They're just bad. Please. Do not pick this. 7. Everything else/Trick... it's just not that beneficial for a mastermind, there are ways to "make it work" but it is unfortunately an under-performer. 8. Beasts/Everything (except time nature and dark)... not as bad as mercs but they're the 2nd lowest on the tier they have terrible defenses, their damage isn't enough to make up for it either, and they have nothing going for them...
  5. /Bio does NOT need Shadow Meld whatsoever. You also do not need Parasitic Aura at all. Here is a build that softcaps S/L/E/N/F/C/M with barrier and also caps S/L damage with when accolades are done 2072.5 health with an absorb that gives 1227.9 health for an effective HP pool of 3300 health top that off, it has 63 hp/sec regen. Has TONS of AOE, the final power at 49 is your choice, I went with energy torrent for the FF proc but you can do whatever you wish. S/L defense is 35% with barrier. This build has 70% S/L resistance with barrier PERMANENTLY. It possess decent enough recharge for hasten to be up a decent portion of the time. Runs Cardiac core for DPS boost and endurance. Use consume for damage and the endurance when it is low. Has AOE galore: Consume, Burn, FSC, Inferno, Rain of Fire, Fireball, and BOTH auras. Great ST chain as well, Flares is occasionally used as a filler.
  7. These sets are anti-synergistic. Dual Pistols will try to keep you away from enemies at a safe range at the sacrifice of some damage, fire manipulation will keep you in melee range due to burn and FSC as well as those auras. Is this a new concept toon with a theme or what exactly are you trying to achieve with this? I'm not being rude, I'm just strictly telling you how these play.
  8. I recommend just no. Mercs are the all-time worst MM powerset of all time... Traps by itself is a complicated toolset to use, you're asking for trouble with these two and it may lead to a lot of frustrating gameplay situations... But if you are hardset on thematic choices, you have been warned.
  9. I made this one if you want to look at it, it has all the pet buffs, the pets are permanent, you have 50% to all across the board except toxic and psi, you have softcapped defenses permanently with barrier (5%) and the barrier also helps keep your pets at 35% defense universally, and the support core makes them softcapped, you have good AOE, etc. Also, hasten is perma. You also get 2k health, etc. Villain Plan by Mids' Reborn : Hero Designer 2.6.0.7 https://github.com/ImaginaryDevelopment/imaginary-hero-designer Click this DataLink to open the build! Bio/SS Build?

Recharge is high enough for almost perma hasten and definitely perma ablative carapace... Achieves capped S/L resist, over 35% S/L defense 47% E/N res and softcapped E/N (I considered this very important) 53% F/C and softcapped F/C around 70 HP/sec regen 3 good AOEs with mu psionics is a hole but you have a massive absorb shield in ablative... Do not double rage unless you know you're safe, and make a macro for autohasten and auto ablative and you should be tough as nails, the absorb from ablative is absurdly massive you effectively have an HP pool of almost 5k-6k with ablative S/L should literally never kill you. If you switch to Offensive Mode, you should actually be dealing pretty decent damage, and FS has forced feedback proc in it! 11. I don't play a single tank, I have just been on several teams where people who cannot dish out damage or contribute meaningfully complain about the tanker. I shared a friend irl that I play with's perspective and he is usually recognized as a good tanker. In fact, most of the time I play the hefty damage dealers (blapper, scrapper, brute, corruptor.) Also, I'm sure there are both camps where obviously a tanker will crumble mobs much faster than the controller and vice versa. That can be said for every AT, so with AT's roles being less strict... I just don't see why the tanker takes the full brunt of the blame on these situations alone much less why someone would single him out and tell him that in such a harsh manner. I will agree that in this circumstance it seems like he was zooming all over the place and had no regard for his teammates, but maybe he wasn't intending to be the "tanker" for the team and people just *assumed* he was, maybe his build played more like a brute/scrapper rather than strict tanker.
  12. I understand that that is the perception of a tanker's role but why are you totally reliant on that tanker for survival? The tanking job is one of the hardest teaming jobs, expecting so much out of tankers who maybe aren't that adept at it or are new to the game seems rather harsh. It seems like your issue with mobs hurting you has better blame attached to the buffs/debuffs/controls of the controller/defender/corruptor/etc. than it really corresponds to the tanker. People really expect tankers to be the absolute end all be all damage soakers and do their job correctly 150% of the time even when it's not realistic for them to be in two places at once (sometimes I can't always chase that boss you dragged over into a corner and be in the center of a mob soaking the alphas so the rest of the team doesn't die). If you are a tanker and your group cannot manage to kill a mob in a reasonable timeframe (I'd say approximately 30 seconds to a minute without most dying) then yes, I would skip ahead and try to do the task force because it shows the team is attempting content that is not within their capability. The "role identity" confusion that you're discussing is limiting. Let people play how they wish to play. Obviously, some people are going to do obnoxious things (knockback entire mobs with energy blast, etc.) But if a tank wants to play like a brute and be in the center of mobs and deal damage, let them? If a tanker doesn't feel confident in his build to not try to absorb an alpha and collect debt, let him be? There is definitely more ways to play an AT that go outside the bounds of what it was originally intended/designed for. Not every tank is made to absorb damage, some tanks are basically brutes, and I've found a lot of really good scrappers to out-tank mediocre tankers. This guy that you're talking about seems like he wasn't doing anything to "grief" the team, perhaps his statement of "kill faster" was a bit rash, but with T9 Nukes and T4 judgements being widely available, why was this an issue? Also, was that really the best way to approach this situation to get what you want? You could've possibly asked nicer... "Hey, our group is having trouble, could you stay back to help us (player x)" and I guarantee 9 times out of 10, they will do what you asked them to do.
  13. Super Strength actually was very much so BUFFED. Rage on the new scalar enables tankers to consistently match Brute-level damage%'s and is especially relevant now that rage is multiplicative to the new scalar vs rage only being additive to the brute's fury.
  14. I'd go with radiation as well for the reason the poster above stated^
  15. I'm going to assume you're OK with mixing some of the widow's higher DPA attacks with some psi attacks. Chain should include the powers: Dominate, Lunge, Follow Up, Strike (swipe is just used as a mule for the ATO toxic damage). You get a healthy mix of AOE powers with this build Psionic Tornado (it doesn't KB it KU's), Psychic Wail (aoe nuke), Electrifying Fences (good control with immob and your powers also great damage over time for its activation), and Spin (AOE PBAOE, use before Psychic Wail for FotG -res), AOE confuse can be used as a control for large enemy groups vs a widow and can be even used offensively to improve clear times. I took the medicine pool because you're a defense based character, you won't be easily interrupted and you really need to heal off some damage sometimes. Widows are really prone to -def based mobs and can get RNG'd very easily and faceplant, medicine pool lets you quickly heal a third of your health and gives you a decent proc with it. Aid Other is taken as a proc mule for the Numina's. 60% all positionals, 54% smashing and lethal resistance, maxed psionic resistance. It shouldn't die too quickly to those damage types but be very weary of Energy/Negative enemies as those are the bane of this build granted they should hardly ever hit you, but be careful against them. 16. Hello guys! Recently saw that Demons/Nature is gaining popularity so I decided to make a build on it... So far it has 46% S/L defense, 51% with Barrier, 36% Energy, 41% with Barrier, 70% Smashing/Lethal res, capped to 75% with Barrier, the minions have a base of a whopping 52% to all damage and the absorb is very high, so the minions are obviously on the tougher side. Not perma hasten/overgrowth but up pretty often. Further, does some damage on its own with Kick + Cross Punch Synergy and adds a -res proc and has the T2 Lash attack for fun! 17. I have returned to CoH, here to answer some questions about the build: I don't really heal... to be quite honest the defense is usually high enough to not care or they just outright nuke it before it even becomes a problem but yes, sometimes I do feed healing insps. Oh yes, the End on this is absolutely the build's biggest flaw unfortunately and there's really not much that can be done! LOL! The drawback of high recharge stormies! But, using Ageless when you are at the 10-20% end mark does seem to ease up on the build. Boxing can be taken whenever and wherever you want, I do not recommend taking these powers in the exact order I put this in, typically get your primary and secondary important powers first along with the leaderships if you can afford it, at lower levels you do not need to summon 4 nados 3 rains and 4 LS, you can get by with 1-2 nados and 1 freeze just fine for lower level content. I'm going to be honest here though this build is absolutely capable of doing +2 and +3 and SOME +4 content. It rips through literally everything +3 and lower (x8 AV), exemps SURPRISINGLY well and is the MVP of the BAF prisoners. However, in lots of +4 situations the minions just do not have enough to survive all the spiking, I'm trying out Thugs/Time and it seems to be amazing, I will post that build on another topic and link it if you are interested.
  18. A few things about Thugs... 1. Thugs are PROC MONSTERS... 2. The Bonus of Superior Mark of Supremacy 10% recharge can be applied 3 TIMES... 3. The Enforcers can slot in Gaussian's Build Up Proc because they give tactics and tactics is bugged with Gaussians and **OVER-TRIGGERS** it. 4. Gang War can hold all so many of the defense/resist bonuses that you don't want to waste slots on for your other pets damage. 5. Enforcers can slot Shield Breaker AND Touch of Lady Grey damage procs... Yes these do trigger **EXTREMELY** often. 6. BOTH Bruiser AND regular Thugs can slot Explosive Strike procs which again trigger extremely often. These procs beef up your pet's damage by absurd amounts. Do not take this advice lightly. 7. You can slot in Soulbound Allegiance in Bruiser which means for all 3 of your hardest hitting minions REGULARLY have buildup on (one is a brute with fury bonus, the other two are corruptors with SCOURGE bonuses - crits.) Here is a sample build for Thugs/Time I made, the defense with barrier core ends up being 43% all positionals, hasten/chrono shift are almost permanent, the minions are fully proc'd out, there is a proc monster AOE in Distortion Field which opens the battle with about 400-500 damage, has an AOE proc hit that also immobolizes, and softcaps your minions to all positionals as well as having capped S/L res and over 50% energy (with the barrier). 19. I know, but this is for the current way the game already exists in, if they made it only -10% that would be excellent!
  20. So I made a build Shield/SS/Mu to be able to be very tanky for regular gameplay and clear mobs like a champ while doing "adequate" ST damage. Because Rage is -20% defense debuff I aimed to get 65% or higher in all positionals - I mostly achieved that goal except for ranged but it isn't far off at 40% when on crash. Outside of rage crashes, you have over 60% defense to all positionals and with Active Defense you have almost 90% defense debuffs due to the fact that Active Defense is up often enough to most of the time double itself, still with accolades you sit at a meaty 2,800+ health, 60% resist to everything except psi and toxic damage, and if you need to be "tankier" you can pop on One with the Shield for absorbing hard alphas and extreme content. The build obviously requires Ageless, this would be an end hog without it. This won't probably have the damage to take out an AV solo but it will be tanky enough with your lore pets to kill AV's and distract them from your pets getting killed. With One with the Shield tanking LR should be pretty easy... Let me know your thoughts/opinions?
