  1. This is true, but I thought that the person you were quoting was comparing against live - in which case, Rage should be untouched - instead of comparing against the last patch.
  2. So badges and souvenirs, then.
  3. Thought about going here as my first reaction, but decided to play off the first and last lyric instead with
  4. Rage changes have been rolled back; IIRC @Captain Powerhouse said that Super Strength is getting a separate pass later.
  5. I did look at it. I was also referring to a Brute instead of a Tanker. I was just pointing out that the Toxic hole actually has an in-set solution, it's just not worth taking for the most part and you can actually cap everything if you want. And even with those holes and the lack of defense debuff resistance, my Brute is still very difficult to kill; a friend has a Stone Melee/Elec Brute that capped all but Negative, Toxic, and Psi with similar levels of defense to my Rad/Elec. I wasn't saying the build was bad, I wasn't saying there was anything wrong with it. I was just saying that even the resistances that aren't capped in that build can be capped also.
  6. That's what it is - Stalker Electric Melee is the only version with good single target damage, and it lags behind other Stalker primaries - well, other than Spines - for single target. Outside of AS, your best DPA single-target attack is Chain Induction. I still enjoyed playing an Elec/Nin on Infinity (even pre-AS buff) but I'll freely admit that the Stalker version is the only one that will drop bosses quickly.
  7. It's all good, just thought I'd try my hand explaining once the conversation shifted to talking about models for granite armor. I guess I should have used the instead of the ♥️ when I put my reaction to the post.
  8. True, but Ninjitsu gets a longer-recharge Seeds of Confusion in Blinding Powder + Coercive Persuasion's Contagious Confusion proc (2 min base vs 1 min base). When they're busy hitting each other with defense debuffs instead of you the game becomes much easier, and the proc fires often enough that it's effectively mag 5 for the first 10 seconds.
  9. As he said, it was a joke. By not being Devouring Earth, that is enough to taunt (draw the hate of) Hamidon, thus making him want to kill you. There was nothing more to it than that - it had nothing to do with the actual Taunt power, the ability to tank Hamidon in either the Hive or Abyss, team mechanics, league mechanics, or maintaining aggro. Just a joke, nothing more.
  10. I agree with Mind Link being a huge benefit when you're low on set bonuses. Plus, don't forget: you are forced to respec at level 24, which is the level you can pick up Mind Link. Since you pick powers and then place slots in a respec, that means you can drop as many slots into it as you want at level 24. I did 3 (4 slots total) and frankenslotted attuned defense/recharge and def/end/recharge (LotG and Red Fortune set) IOs, but I also had a lot of the IOs already purchased before I ever made the character.
  11. But...but...the travel! Edit to add: Ninjitsu has a similar problem, but at least it gets some defense debuff resistance out of it.
  12. If you want to use Power Surge (which I don't, but I had it pre-IOs) you can cap those, also. With a Brute, who has much lower base numbers. Back then it was tricky to time it, but you could also hit Power Sink as it crashed, refill your endurance, use Aid Self (because of the PBAoE hold that was part of the crash) or greens, and keep going without detoggling. Nowadays you could use Energize instead of Aid Self, which would also help with the -recovery part of the crash. As mentioned earlier, the issue is you're still getting hit by debuffs without defense, and you have no DDR to protect what you get from set bonuses. That said, my Rad/Elec Brute is pretty hard to kill even without softcapped defense (positional defenses range from 32-36%) unless you're throwing a lot of toxic damage (10-20% resistance with Reactive Defense proc IO). Surprised I haven't seen more Dark Armor love, though; build it right and it's unkillable, and the Theft of Essence proc makes Dark Regeneration a live-target Stygian Circle to cure endurance issues.
  13. For farming, the higher target caps and extended AoE sizes in the melee sets only will narrow the gap between Tankers and Brutes; the Brute damage cap is being reduced (to +600%, 700% total) while the Tanker damage cap is being increased (+400%, 500% total) and their melee modifier is being increased, so with inspiration usage to cap your damage on a scale 1 attack: Tanker: 0.95 * 5 = 4.75 * 55.61 = 264.1475 per target, max 16 targets (PBAoE w/+50% radius), max 10 targets (cone with double arc) - theoretical unresisted max 4226.36 damage at highest target cap Brute: 0.75 * 7 = 5.25 * 55.61 = 291.9525 per target, max 10 targets (PBAoE), max 5 targets (cone) - theoretical unresisted max 2919.525 damage at highest target cap The patron/epic AoEs are unchanged for both ATs (there's a patch note about switching them to use the ranged damage modifier, but the Brute ranged modifier was changed to 0.75 to match their melee modifier, and Tankers was changed to 0.8 to match their current melee modifier - in the end it's a wash).
  14. Those are being affected by the patch on beta to normalize them all, currently two are too long (Invincibility and Against All Odds) and one is too short (Rise to the Challenge).
  15. Your resistance is resisting the (resistable) resistance debuff in Offensive Adaptation. Edit for maths: The bonuses total up to 77.63%, capped at 75%. That 75% resists the -7.5%, turning it into -1.875%. 77.63% - 1.875% is 75.755%, which is still capped at 75%.
  16. Rhode Island doesn't currently have a bevy people who can control the weather.
  17. I agree... but I'm at work near the end of the day and looking for distractions. My fault, I'll stop now.
  18. The farming thread in the Guides section has some binds/macros for converting everything to reds. Combine that with turning off some of the types so they don't clutter the tray and it's pretty easy to keep a lot of them (especially if you set to combine every time you hit something in your tray).
  19. True, but the point was that for short periods you can hit the damage cap solo with a Brute using inspirations - low long that period lasts varies but is extended greatly by frequency of kills, which is the essence of farming. I know I've damage capped a Brute before IOs when people were still using Shivans/Nukes for the last mission of the RSF, and the damage cap was higher then than it is now. You're not reading it wrong from the OP, but the overall patch notes actually increase Fury generation compared to what's live now (as long as the attack hits) and it takes longer to start the fast decay. The idea is you will generate more Fury with the combination of the last patch and this one, you will just cap out on damage faster.
