  1. On paper I'm a fan of most of these changes, but I can't help but think that testing them all at once is going to muddy the waters when it comes to determining how effective they are. In particular, the damage buff and AOE limit increase could/should be independently tested. To my mind it would have made more sense to roll out with "for these 2 weeks we're testing increased target caps, then the next 2 we'll test the damage buff, then we'll look at both together." It's possible that both changes are too much, and one or the other would be sufficient, but the way it's testing now we'll never know. I'm also concerned, given that in general AOE is king, the mostly single target sets (excepting SS because Superman) will dramatically fall behind those with more and varied AOEs. (And FWIW, I'm still in favour of adding team support buffs to tanker primaries...)
  2. I can't speak to Mind/ at all. WRT /Kin, it is really all about buffs (you hand out + damage, recharge, speed, recovery, mezres), and as such can be very busy. It also has one of the strongest heals in the game. With everything else your powersets have to do, you likely will not find much opportunity to use any of the Medicine powers, and because you already have a strong heal you won't see nearly as much benefit from it as, say, /FF or /Sonic, which do not have any in-set heals. I will also point out that the Experimentation pool in the builder is not live in game (nor are Force of Will, Gadgetry and Utility Belt). /sadface Hopefully that offers something of value!
  3. I'd be interested in a build. Got an Ice/Ice languishing at 20 for weeks now.
  4. Thanks, these look good too! Plenty of options between your and @Knottewes' builds. I'm especially intrigued by both of you suggesting the addition of Dehydrate. I'd not considered it because all I do is heal, but if it's going to be a heavier hitting attack that still works in whatever chain I can come up with, it definitely seems worth it. Just gotta decide which opportunity trigger to drop... Lots to think about!
  5. Cool, thanks! I'll have a look and see what I can do with this. My Sent is L37 currently and slotted as built,, so changes might end up being a 50 respec (which I planned on doing anyway as matter of course).
  6. Thanks Oldskool, and yeah you're prolly right in that I am overthinking it. The dangers of downtime at work! With regard to slotting, I've been chasing set bonii for defensive buffs, only including procs where they are in the set I'm using anyway. Posting the build in case you or others want to give it a good old fashioned teardown and redo. 7. Yeah, I know "ideal" is subjective. Just wanting to get a feel for whether I'm on the right track with my guy. Without incarnates, my current planned build hits: Should these be viable for endgame play? I can post a full build if wanted.
  8. Likely gonna steal some of this for my SR/Rad. I need to work on my exemp-level defenses, cause through the leveling process he's only just starting to see +40% in his high 20's. Granted that's with only basic IOs.
  9. Aw yeah, getting me some Anti-Matter tonight (thanks Tina Mc!). Then I'll just need Siege.
  10. Been a very long time and my google-fu is weak... Do AVs downgraded to EBs still count for defeat badges, e.g. Portal Jockey?
  11. Yeah I might be stealing some for my /Nature dorks as well...
  12. I never had the chance to do this back on live; would love to be part of it.
  13. I'm still going to have to pick up the actual Stealth power for effective full invis, right?
  14. Theory-crafting for a new build (he's L16 now) and I've got a basic shell mostly to where I want it: Soft-capped personal S/L/E, with all positionals being a small purple away Soft-capped pets to everything but F/C (with 2 bubbles, Arctic Fog, Maneuvers) 3 procced-out attacks so he's not standing around doing nothing Aside from looking for holes in the build, the main question I have is: What do I do with incarnates, particularly Alpha and Hybrid? Agility or Spiritual Alpha would help my mediocre recharge, but really not benefit anything else. Can I do better there? And I guess Support Hybrid to push closer to incarnate soft cap, or again am I missing something else? 15. Grant Cover is a toggle and Ground Zero is a click, so I wouldn't call that a deal breaker.
  16. I made a suggestion a while back (in one of the other tank threads) about adding some kind of bodyguard mode to tank primaries, and more recently (in this thread) about adding some team utility to tank primaries in the form of ally-only buffs. This second idea has precedent in the form of Grant Cover (Shields) and Ground Zero (Rad). For the other sets, I wanted to take existing powers and tack on an extra, in-theme, team buff, rather than make radical changes and/or replacements. I had a few minutes at the end of the work day so I thought I'd put together a really rough set of ideas for opinions: Bio Armor – DNA Siphon – team heal, +end Dark Armor – Cloak of Darkness – team stealth (and maybe +def) Electric Armor – Power Sink – team +end, +rcv Fiery Aura – Fiery Embrace – team +dam Ice Armor – Energy Absorption – team +end, +def Invulnerability – Invincibility – team +tohit Radiation Armor – Ground Zero – ally +hp, +hot (no change, I just didn't bother to include the enemy stuff here) Shield Defense – Grant Cover – team +def (no change) Stone Armor – Rooted – team +mezprot Super Reflexes – Quickness – team +rech Willpower – Rise to the Challenge – team +regen Thoughts? Worth pursuing or nah?
  17. Related question: Does Absorb stack at all? My dude is /Regen, so he pretty constantly has an Absorb shield up. I haven't paid close enough attention to see if the proc either refreshes, replaces or adds to whatever (higher) value he already has up. Either way I guess it doesn't matter, since that 6-slot bonus is hard to pass up!
  18. So I posted an observation on the Tanker boards last night, which prompted some feedback and thought process. In a nutshell, it seems that Rad Melee specifically has a chance to fire procs on adjacent mobs (i.e. ones not targeted by the attack with the proc in it). The likely culprit is Contamination checks regardless of whether the targeted mob is actually contaminated. What if that effect could be proliferated over to other Tanker ST powers? It already exists in the code for Rad Melee, so it should be possible to find and port? It wouldn't be a lot, but would be flavourful in that Tanker attacks would have a chance to "hit" enemies just for standing next to their buddy who got thwacked.
  19. Hmmm, might have to revisit my build and go proc-happy with it! And yes, I'd agree here. Makes me wonder if the effect couldn't be proliferated to other tanker ST attacks. Would be an interesting angle.
  20. So I've been leveling an SR/Rad, and noticed an odd behaviour that I've not seen elsewhere. I slotted the +KD prestige enhancement into Contaminated Strike. On numerous occasions I've hit a mob with CS, and an adjacent (non-targeted) mob will randomly fall down. It's happened when I attack both contaminated and non-contaminated mobs. Has it always been the case that procs in ST attacks can affect non-targeted mobs, because gauntlet? Or is it a by-product of Rad Melee's contamination mechanic attempting to spread the love when it shouldn't? I've never seen this on any other characters (including a couple other tanks) so I'm led to speculate that it's a weird Rad Melee thing. Anyone have insight into this?
  21. I've found it works on some combinations and very much doesn't on others. I love it on my Psi/Fire scrapper. His armors are purplish and dark, and under normal graphics everything is an obscured fuzz. With cel shading I can actually still see his costume!
  22. I know it's been said before in many places, but I'd still argue for some kind of bodyguard and/or team-buffing effect. Something like this already exists in Shield Defense (Grant Cover) and Radiation Armor (Ground Zero), which would push me to suggest that it be added to tanker primaries (as an extra effect to existing powers whenever possible). For example, add a team +Rec buff to Electric Armor's Power Sink. Other sets (e.g. Fire) could provide a team damage buff. Plenty of ways to go about it to keep the effects in-theme and desirable in multiples.
  23. Whether the Prev Med proc, like the Panacea proc, will trigger for allies in a Lifegiving Spores patch. Or if it's limited to only affecting yourself.
