Could Oberst Straxt be a bit less, uh... racist?
Player2 replied to CraterLabs's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Great question. -
Oh, look... the elite sitting in their nerf castles with their nerf bats ready to bestow the grand nerf gesture. The very definition of nerf evil. 🤪

I feel the same way about Mind Control and the changes to Telekinesis specifically.

I'd like what Countess Crey is wearing in skirt and top.

All hairstyles from both genders made available to the opposite. Those male/huge Barbaric locks would work quite nicely for female models. So would Princeton, Shiver, Hipster, and many others. Let US decide what looks right for our characters, not what fits "gender norms" defined over a decade ago.

I like the idea of origin powers... and we already have them with Apprentice Charm (Magic), Mutagen (Mutant), Taser Dart (Tech), Throwing Knives (Natural), and Tranq Dart (Science). And the best thing about them is that they are not restricted to any origins. That means if I want a knife-throwing mutant, that's acceptable. If I want a science-guy with a taser dart, there's nothing wrong with that. If I want natural guy who's had basic magical schooling enough to learn a single spell, then it's his Apprentice Charm. Etcetera, etcetera. Basically, I like the idea of additional power options that can fit the theme or flavor of an origin, but only as long as it isn't restricted by it because origin should be a tool to help explain your character and not be a straightjacket that enforces who and what your character is and what you have access to because everyone should be allowed to interpret how origin defines their character (or doesn't). Lots of heroes have powers that cross over multiple origins... like Spider-Man would be a science origin hero, but he has access to and uses gadgets (webshooters, spider sense trackers, and whatever else he might tuck into his hidden utility belt when the need arises), or Wolverine who is decidedly a mutant but one of his most defining traits --his unbreakable bones-- is the result of science. This idea gets a thumbs down from me.

I am, surprisingly, inclined to agree with Rudra as well. I am getting sick of all the badge stuff, so anything that downvotes badge-related play is something I will now support.

Alternative suggestion: Badge confirmation acceptance? When a new badge would be awarded... pop up that says [Accept/Deny] like the little window that we get for the Mystic Fortune buff power. Maybe even make badge acceptance confirmation something you have to toggle on via Null the Gull so that it doesn't change the experience for anyone that likes things as they are.

Otherwise, I must vehemently protest the placement of the new Rookie badge.
-
Maybe exclude certain badges that could be exploited?

Would it be possible to set up a way to remove badges from our characters? I just logged in a new character to play around with the new powersets, and I got the new Rookie exploration badge behind Ms. Liberty. I don't want it. I'm deleting the character and starting over and will avoid Ms. Liberty from now on, but why not be able to right click on a badge and remove it from the list? If it's a simple badge that's earned for doing X, then whatever marker gets cleared. If it's a counter system, deleting the badge resets the counter to 0. If it's a badge that's linked to a progression, then anything you have that comes after it is also removed (like if you just earned Leader for earning 500 million influence and choose to delete Trendsetter, have it set the counter to the amount for the badge just below it 10 million for Superstar and this not only erases Trendsetter but also Popular and Leader, but then those could reappear again as you earn more influence). I know almost everybody LOVES their badges and "with a rebel yell cried more, more, more!!" I am not that player. I absolutely detest accidentally getting badges that I don't want, especially get annoyed at some that have titles that really don't fit the theme of a given character. Everyone can keep their badges... but let the few of us that aren't obsessed be able to opt out of the obsession.

I couldn't tell you if it's Firefox or W.D. I post and view Imgur files with Chrome. Also, your name made me laugh because I recently re-watched the old Dilbert animated series and saw an episode with "Ted." When he was spoken to, he seemed to ignore Dilbert repeating his name to get his attention until finally he said, "Are you talking to me? My name's not Ted." When asked what his name actually was, he admitted, "It's Ted... but not the Ted you're thinking of." That's probably my favorite joke in the whole show.

Sometimes someone will throw something on the auction house for lower than its worth to avoid a higher listing fee, and then it will sell for a lower amount and that will get recorded in the 5 most recent sales. In fact, while buying standard IOs, I've seen that with enhancements that sell normally for 200k or more each have the last five sales showing a ridiculously low amount... like 15,177. Bid low, you never know if someone is going to list something and you'll be the next available highest low bid. That's no guarantee, but occasionally it does happen, just like when someone over bids on something because they added an extra zero and clicked too quick; why is that basic enhancement that sells for 100k suddenly showing a million inf sale? Because things happen on the market, but the actual values of things still have a norm and will stabilize pretty quickly.

If you have only a short time but want some easy merits, just explore a few zones to get all the badges. It's usually 8 badges per zone and you get 5 merits. No combat, one less merit... but fast and easy so you can do several zones at a time. If you get all the badges, just make a new stalker and repeat the process. Even at level 1, you can get around most zones with only a couple to worry about snipers who can still spot and kill you. When you get all the badges you can... email them to yourself, claim with your main character, then delete the temporary stalker and go around again.

Added a couple variants with the addition of the Sybil costume stuff. The non-Sybil addition was just extra inspiration.

What I wish Empathy looked like (A long overdue rework)
Player2 replied to Shin Magmus's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Merciful Plea should definitely be a team buff as opposed to an enemy debuff. If making enemies -ToHit is an issue because of damage proc enhancements, just make this a team +Absorb and +Resist. Force Field and other sets already cover reducing enemies chances of being hit, and Empathy should be about making your allies tougher. -
How much in game currency do you have on hand.
Player2 replied to Monty Haull's topic in General Discussion
I think the most I have on any one character is like 20 to 25 million, and then on the rest it's 10 million or less... often below a million. I must be auction housing wrong. -
I recall something about the Kick-Ass movie having done something with the MARV studio logo because they were worried about Marvel coming after them.

I now want to see an AE arc with a misguided Save Sally protestor group armed with knives, clubs, and guns. They have good intentions but direct their efforts at the wrong people and the hero must intervene to stop them... but ultimately must battle the Redcaps and/or other group to save Sally. The mini giant monster pet coming in the next update should be added to the AE so we could do an outdoor escort mission to being new hatchlings to the water.

I got it before I really opened up and revealed my crazy.
