  1. Are you suggesting the moneybags just may be attempting to manipulate the market? Egads! How very real life. You all have done a fantastic job of keeping the market affordable for any player, fresh or old, to be able to deck themselves out to the 9's. The grind is so much less than on live which I appreciate so much, after I got a few first characters well built it just snowballed to the point I can afford to build new characters if I feel like it from time to time and still give stuff away nonchalant. All of my 50 characters have top end builds whereas on retail I'd only have my doms with the expensive builds. If the point of seeding the market is to get it to the point where people can just log on and play the game whatever they feel like without feeling inadequate because they can afford a top end build themselves then marvelous job. I'm fine with the aether being in such demand and I'm okay with this one new currency for flair, if it stays at just this one extra currency. That it will just be for flair and not any permanent power buff I think it's a cool way to entice people into lots of activities without introducing some must have powercreep. With all of the moaning about it though part of me feels there should be power buffs offered on top of just flair since that would be most attractive to those who have tinkered with their characters to be able to perform these harder tasks. If the HC staff is going to be doing all of this to keep the game moving forward and wants to try to generate interest skewed a bit more towards team oriented play through certain rewards all the while dedicating your time to generate this flair I'm all for it. Thanks for taking the time out to read and reply to all of this randomness as well. Now get back to work we need a new HM goldside TF stat!
  2. Ooh. I don't use mids or any type of software. Here's what I do with these powers though. Flash Arrow : 4 Clouded Senses (no proc) Glue Arrow : 53 Dsync Slow/Rech/End Ice Arrow : 50+5 acc and 5 dmg procs (my lead attack) Poison Arrow : 2 Purple sleep (acc/rech) Acid Arrow : 3 Annihilation w/res proc and an Achilles proc Disruption Arrow : 2 Synpase (rech) Oil Slick Arrow : 5 Ragnarok and Achilles proc EMP Arrow : 2 Synapse and 2 Superior Entomb (rech) this one can go all kinds of ways but I like chasing recharge for this one. Pistols : 6 of Defender ATO (can't remember the names but the one with the good 6th bonus) Swap Ammo Bullet Rain : 5 other Defender ATO + Force Feedback proc Executioner's Shot : 5 Apocalypse + Achilles proc Hail of Bullets : 5 Armageddon + Fury of Gladiator -res proc TA is real nice in that you don't have to go wild with slotting since there's not much benefit from sets and the real benefit is in the powers themselves so I like to get the best enhancement values for traveling like acc/rech. I skipped Entangling Arrow because I go with FoW pool and take Weaken Resolve instead which I wasn't getting to use both powers. I also go with Power Mastery for power build up to boost Unleash Potential and Vengeance but the pools I leave to you since its a lot about preference.
  3. Battle Agility DDR is enhanceable, I have 71.5% defense enhancement in it running Agility Alpha. I also don't use Ageless to get there, I just take all the powers in Shield that provide DDR.
  4. Um you all do realize this thing just came out yes? I'm sure some data-mining will be made use of to configure these drops are a bit more in line to encourage all types of playing the game. I'd bet lots of things are on the backburner to get released in this manner for you @battlewraith like a Hobo costume, I wouldn't hold my breath on the Gynecologist one though, patience kemosabe.
  5. Main Tank - Rad Armor or Shield (Grant Cover is a very nice team buff) 2 Colds, Maybe one with Illusion Control to trick those Hostless 1 TA Defender 1 Nature Defender 2 Blastas 1 Wildcard: Could be some hard hitting EM/Bio Stalker or another debuffer.
  6. Yes I'd go as far as to say that two 35+ TFs are called for in Praetoria. It wouldn't need to be all right away but if they are going with a fresh HM TF they've proven themselves adept at making these things so I'd like to see the next one set in Praetoria medium in length, then a bit longer one later on. As far as Praetorian Hami I'm not sure if it wouldn't be better to build off of the UG and Magi with an itrial dedicated to Praetorian Hami, if more itrials are on the radar that is.
  7. I'm hazarding a guess based on how much of a development time sink this became for the live team and continues on. I'd think if it were so easy to implement what you'd want without any major QC oversight it would have been done instead of them having their AE featured story content they highlight.
  8. I can't see this will be an easy task for the HC team to code something as complex as this to allow for people to be able to craft in-game content that wouldn't be somehow game breaking. You're just taking it from the AE building and putting it on the streets. The big drawback to AE is that it comes off as a creation intended to allow what was the live team to draw down their actual content creation in hopes that user generated fanfics would suffice. It's a lazy approach to content creation which can and has gone all kinds of sideways inside those AE buildings which I'm sure created more headaches for the live team than focusing on releasing their own manicured content. This one seems far-fetched sorry. There's factions in game already that could be made better use of, which it looks to me like that's HC's direction. Less development time on creating new factions when we already have so many to choose from and just give them some new abilities means more time crafting things we've seen from Aeon and ITF. Aside from creating their very own enemy group this is something HC is doing if you're not picking up on that. Yes I'd like more actual costume pieces instead of overlays but that may just be the intent of getting out this new currency before they go ham on giving us tons of costumes. You'll just have to play the game a little bit to get them, not a big deal. I can't imagine its easy to break off some of those textures so if they want to reward you for taking part in various activities to get them I say great, we used to have to pay for that kind of thing. There's already oodles of combinations. Sure I'd like more Dominator stuff but what fun will it be when I'm just running these new shinies through the same old stuff. I'd like a few new powers here and there as all of us would but we don't need a deluge of powers created as I think this takes a considerable amount of time to craft brand new stuff. Okay.
  9. That's why I think it's a good idea to have the WST reward of these things to be all encompassing and some arc completion bonus. This is also a good way to get people to level their characters to 50 so they get a full experience. 2% chance isn't anything to hang your hat on though yes.
  10. This currency doesn't just drop from Hard Mode content, it comes from all types of activity while playing the games content. I don't disagree though that sub-50 characters should get these Aether drops from the WST just the same as 50's and that there should be a better way of previewing these items but I think this kind of consolidated way to unlock various things that interest you is a good way to generate interest in playing the games features.
  11. I'm all for their currency thing. If this means the devs will spend their valuable time breaking apart highly requested costume pieces we can use to decorate our characters and want to have it as a reward for playing the games content I'm all for it. Just so long as the redeemables aren't ever performance enhancing, although I wouldn't mind being rewarded for accomplishing these harder task, I see how a permanent character buff can lead to some envy so lets just leave it as flair. We can call it carrot on a stick or what have you but if it means they'll get costumes like the Seer robes released in this manner while giving us quality new content to play while trying to earn this currency then what's there to gripe about? Its a good idea to have a consolidated currency for all kinds of various redeemables, the people running around with the Cimerroan armor piqued peoples interest in running ITF since that's how you got it. If this is perceived as some grand plan to tank Halloween salvage prices get real.
  12. Don't get me started on the cluster**** that was Going Rogue. To me side switching was not a problem. It was as if the live crew learned nothing from fracturing the community with yet another 3rd tutorial zone and making it so hard to access these new zones as opposed to red and blue side so this didn't help keep much interest. It was very poorly thought out, like somehow they were going to pick up a substantial amount of new subscribers with the new low level content when half the current playerbase is hungry for more to do later in their characters life. The risk of losing long time players looking for more to do with their favorite tanker far outweighed any paltry uptick in new players that they thought would happen. Which I surmise is exactly what caused a lot of the population to shed off. Those new expansion zones should have been 35+ along with the incarnate stuff to do which would have appeased both alt'ers and main'ing players. They could have had an introductory arc from a contact in the villain or hero zones at 35 to scout out the other dimension which this locked you from attaining missions red and blue until you told them to buzz off if you choose not to want to go over there. It's such a waste what ended up being the new expansion zones as opposed to what it could have been for everyone. Rather we got such well written low level content you could outlevel in a day and piecemealed later in life content. I think we can all agree goldside gets them.
  13. Yeah this is what I hate most about defeat. I'm glad they tinkered with offensive toggles staying toggled and suppressing since those Hostless would be real annoying constantly retoggling. Playing as the tank if you take a couple wicked shots and get downed you must get back up fast, this is where godmodes and demonic come into big time usage. Hit one of those as you rez so you can get back in the game and toggle the important ones back on at your leisure as you're fighting. I get it though it's annoying, this is what pushes me to not die most.

    Tactical Arrow

Electrified Net Arrow, Upshot, Eagle Eye, Gymnastics are the must have powers in the set. ESD Arrow is a real great sapping arrow and does a little proc damage from hold sets. Oil Slick Arrow is nice additional aoe damage, if you can set up a bind to place it 30ft in front of you its a great fire and forget dps uptick. Maybe Glue Arrow to keep enemies at bay. Ice Arrow would be a real nice proc power if your primary powers lack ST oomph, which they shouldn't. These are skippable if you find yourself needing to trim powers. Tactical Arrow is a very ranged play style with nice movement. I'd pair it with something you see yourself wanting to blast from range with. I like to hop onto my Arch/TA blaster at times to mix up my play a bit. It's a fun set just accept it for what it is and maximize your ranged play.
  15. What's astounding is that he wasn't there yet those 7 deaths can likely be attributed to him.
  16. I for one like the direction you all are setting here. It's fantastic that after this games demise we are getting harder endgame content added on that was teased with Going Rogue which was supposed to test our favorite now "OP" characters. I don't mind the AE as on rare occasion I will use it to PL an alt through to the 30s so I'm hoping that it won't be altogether feel nullified for future use and those who currently enjoy it. The slight trimming though that has been done seems warranted. Then I hope more emphasis is put towards rewarding playing the current game content outside of AE with maybe better mission completion and arc bonuses for everyone. The oddest thing to me is those asking for more low level content. Like we already have so much of it unplayed in Praetoria and the Rogue Isles, how much more do we need for characters that can blow past that stuff in a day? It seems more encouragement is needed for people to rub their eyes to see all of this stuff staring them in the face. You all are doing a fabulous job of setting up the framework for future content additions to give our favorite characters and alts more intriguing things to do. Content creation is and will be the backbone of HC which is unreal that we are getting these kind of updates well after this game was supposed to be long gone. This is all very appreciated!
  17. The first week Aeon was out I got a pity spot on a team full of the zergingest zergers I ever play with at times. We did Relentless Aeon with the secret fight 51 minutes in total. I can't even recall what all happened, I'd zone in and get tp'd to a boss fight. This new ITF is a tad harder than ASF though so I can see it being longer with a crackerjack team steamrolling through 1:15 - 1:30. The two are different animals and I really appreciate the variety this one brings. Taking a popular old TF and revamping it to get most of the playerbase to wade gently into these deep waters will serve well to get people interested in further ones that come out like this and maybe people will visit Cap Au Diable a bit more frequently.
  18. The best stealth to not be seen on the Hard Mode content you will want to go with Super Speed, Stealth and a Celerity Stealth IO to not be seen with the higher perception enemies have. For the most part I got by with Stealth and the IO until this harder content. If you want to achieve high invisibility you will want Stealth, plus 1/3 of its defense stays active in a fight whereas Infiltration has lower stealth and you lose all defense in a fight.
  19. I gave you a thumbs up but I'm not sure if I shoulda stuck with your theme and gave you a ceremonious thumbs down. ...now I want a Commodus thumbs down reaction in place of the generic one we have. Disappointed Edit: Oh yeah to the OP, I agree with Commodus
  20. It has to be a weird one to monitor that's for sure. It works on occasion in pvp as it was initially intended for, which was great so that you could laugh at the tper's fail sometimes. That's where I think I got that 1in10 chances for each. Never really cared to figure how that works in pve because who gets tp'd in pve?! Seems Romulus went to RV for some training that filthy tp'ing ganker!
  21. I think this new currency will be HC's way of introducing stuff that will not be p2w but attractive enough that you will want these. It's likely to encourage the behavior to play the game and take part in a vast array of things. Hopefully eventually we'll get to see other stuff added other than just badges and costume overlays. I don't disagree though that if you're able to obtain them randomly at sub-50 level then it seems like it should be rewarded on the WST as well no matter if you are 50 or not. I'm fine though with HC having its own currency to introduce highly requested stuff that isn't performance enhancing.
  22. Pretty sure it was a 1 in 10 chances of resisting tp. Not sure how that works out if you have both of those slotted. Each one likely checks for the 10% chance to fire.
  23. Ah yeah you can lower your settings they auto scale on the harder tfs.
  24. If EV sets his rep at +4 you will still get 54's even though they play tested it so that the base +2/8 enemy spawns of 52-53's will be quite a good workout. They don't prevent you from putting extra challenges on yourself in their challenge mode tfs. It's just that why would you want to and not just up the difficulty to the next star since you're going to be putting in the extra effort for less reward. The 3-star comes with enemies buffed a bit more and +3/8 base then on the 4-star they get an extra incarnate ability and even more buffing with +4/8 base. And yes I agree this is a bit harder than Aeon.
  25. We're all new at some point. My first character was an Invulnerability tank who didn't take Unyielding because the description said you would be rooted. Eventually when I found out that wasn't the case I had already grown accustomed to my Emp friend thus didn't waste a power pick when I could just get Clear Mind. Rock tanks had their Kins, I had an Emp... I'd never make that mistake again, my next tank was Shield.
