I'm all for their currency thing. If this means the devs will spend their valuable time breaking apart highly requested costume pieces we can use to decorate our characters and want to have it as a reward for playing the games content I'm all for it. Just so long as the redeemables aren't ever performance enhancing, although I wouldn't mind being rewarded for accomplishing these harder task, I see how a permanent character buff can lead to some envy so lets just leave it as flair. We can call it carrot on a stick or what have you but if it means they'll get costumes like the Seer robes released in this manner while giving us quality new content to play while trying to earn this currency then what's there to gripe about? Its a good idea to have a consolidated currency for all kinds of various redeemables, the people running around with the Cimerroan armor piqued peoples interest in running ITF since that's how you got it. If this is perceived as some grand plan to tank Halloween salvage prices get real.

Sins of the Devs are visited upon the players

Don't get me started on the cluster**** that was Going Rogue. To me side switching was not a problem. It was as if the live crew learned nothing from fracturing the community with yet another 3rd tutorial zone and making it so hard to access these new zones as opposed to red and blue side so this didn't help keep much interest. It was very poorly thought out, like somehow they were going to pick up a substantial amount of new subscribers with the new low level content when half the current playerbase is hungry for more to do later in their characters life. The risk of losing long time players looking for more to do with their favorite tanker far outweighed any paltry uptick in new players that they thought would happen. Which I surmise is exactly what caused a lot of the population to shed off. Those new expansion zones should have been 35+ along with the incarnate stuff to do which would have appeased both alt'ers and main'ing players. They could have had an introductory arc from a contact in the villain or hero zones at 35 to scout out the other dimension which this locked you from attaining missions red and blue until you told them to buzz off if you choose not to want to go over there. It's such a waste what ended up being the new expansion zones as opposed to what it could have been for everyone. Rather we got such well written low level content you could outlevel in a day and piecemealed later in life content. I think we can all agree goldside gets them. -

Yeah this is what I hate most about defeat. I'm glad they tinkered with offensive toggles staying toggled and suppressing since those Hostless would be real annoying constantly retoggling. Playing as the tank if you take a couple wicked shots and get downed you must get back up fast, this is where godmodes and demonic come into big time usage. Hit one of those as you rez so you can get back in the game and toggle the important ones back on at your leisure as you're fighting. I get it though it's annoying, this is what pushes me to not die most. -
Electrified Net Arrow, Upshot, Eagle Eye, Gymnastics are the must have powers in the set. ESD Arrow is a real great sapping arrow and does a little proc damage from hold sets. Oil Slick Arrow is nice additional aoe damage, if you can set up a bind to place it 30ft in front of you its a great fire and forget dps uptick. Maybe Glue Arrow to keep enemies at bay. Ice Arrow would be a real nice proc power if your primary powers lack ST oomph, which they shouldn't. These are skippable if you find yourself needing to trim powers. Tactical Arrow is a very ranged play style with nice movement. I'd pair it with something you see yourself wanting to blast from range with. I like to hop onto my Arch/TA blaster at times to mix up my play a bit. It's a fun set just accept it for what it is and maximize your ranged play.

What's astounding is that he wasn't there yet those 7 deaths can likely be attributed to him.

I for one like the direction you all are setting here. It's fantastic that after this games demise we are getting harder endgame content added on that was teased with Going Rogue which was supposed to test our favorite now "OP" characters. I don't mind the AE as on rare occasion I will use it to PL an alt through to the 30s so I'm hoping that it won't be altogether feel nullified for future use and those who currently enjoy it. The slight trimming though that has been done seems warranted. Then I hope more emphasis is put towards rewarding playing the current game content outside of AE with maybe better mission completion and arc bonuses for everyone. The oddest thing to me is those asking for more low level content. Like we already have so much of it unplayed in Praetoria and the Rogue Isles, how much more do we need for characters that can blow past that stuff in a day? It seems more encouragement is needed for people to rub their eyes to see all of this stuff staring them in the face. You all are doing a fabulous job of setting up the framework for future content additions to give our favorite characters and alts more intriguing things to do. Content creation is and will be the backbone of HC which is unreal that we are getting these kind of updates well after this game was supposed to be long gone. This is all very appreciated! -
The first week Aeon was out I got a pity spot on a team full of the zergingest zergers I ever play with at times. We did Relentless Aeon with the secret fight 51 minutes in total. I can't even recall what all happened, I'd zone in and get tp'd to a boss fight. This new ITF is a tad harder than ASF though so I can see it being longer with a crackerjack team steamrolling through 1:15 - 1:30. The two are different animals and I really appreciate the variety this one brings. Taking a popular old TF and revamping it to get most of the playerbase to wade gently into these deep waters will serve well to get people interested in further ones that come out like this and maybe people will visit Cap Au Diable a bit more frequently.

The best stealth to not be seen on the Hard Mode content you will want to go with Super Speed, Stealth and a Celerity Stealth IO to not be seen with the higher perception enemies have. For the most part I got by with Stealth and the IO until this harder content. If you want to achieve high invisibility you will want Stealth, plus 1/3 of its defense stays active in a fight whereas Infiltration has lower stealth and you lose all defense in a fight.

Petition to limit incarnate use for new content (ITF, etc.)

I gave you a thumbs up but I'm not sure if I shoulda stuck with your theme and gave you a ceremonious thumbs down. ...now I want a Commodus thumbs down reaction in place of the generic one we have. Disappointed Edit: Oh yeah to the OP, I agree with Commodus -
It has to be a weird one to monitor that's for sure. It works on occasion in pvp as it was initially intended for, which was great so that you could laugh at the tper's fail sometimes. That's where I think I got that 1in10 chances for each. Never really cared to figure how that works in pve because who gets tp'd in pve?! Seems Romulus went to RV for some training that filthy tp'ing ganker!

I think this new currency will be HC's way of introducing stuff that will not be p2w but attractive enough that you will want these. It's likely to encourage the behavior to play the game and take part in a vast array of things. Hopefully eventually we'll get to see other stuff added other than just badges and costume overlays. I don't disagree though that if you're able to obtain them randomly at sub-50 level then it seems like it should be rewarded on the WST as well no matter if you are 50 or not. I'm fine though with HC having its own currency to introduce highly requested stuff that isn't performance enhancing.
-
Pretty sure it was a 1 in 10 chances of resisting tp. Not sure how that works out if you have both of those slotted. Each one likely checks for the 10% chance to fire.
-
Ah yeah you can lower your settings they auto scale on the harder tfs.

If EV sets his rep at +4 you will still get 54's even though they play tested it so that the base +2/8 enemy spawns of 52-53's will be quite a good workout. They don't prevent you from putting extra challenges on yourself in their challenge mode tfs. It's just that why would you want to and not just up the difficulty to the next star since you're going to be putting in the extra effort for less reward. The 3-star comes with enemies buffed a bit more and +3/8 base then on the 4-star they get an extra incarnate ability and even more buffing with +4/8 base. And yes I agree this is a bit harder than Aeon.

We're all new at some point. My first character was an Invulnerability tank who didn't take Unyielding because the description said you would be rooted. Eventually when I found out that wasn't the case I had already grown accustomed to my Emp friend thus didn't waste a power pick when I could just get Clear Mind. Rock tanks had their Kins, I had an Emp... I'd never make that mistake again, my next tank was Shield.

1000+ days eh? Maybe some fresh player will appreciate the passing of the mantle and will look to represent on a more frequent basis. When you see them on the streets you can say hey that was me and be proud.

Rotating Hard Mode / Challenge Server
Mezmera replied to kingsmidgens's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
They want to leave the game as it is and offer additional options above and beyond to account for the decked out IO'ed and fully incarnated characters running around. You know, what the live devs started to progress towards with the Going Rogue teaser before it got abruptly shut down. I'm all for the added content creation. We're getting new task forces while leaving the base difficulty as easy as usual and adding additional optional challenges on top. How is this a bad thing and why would you need to split up the community when all options plus more are still there and everyone is getting new stuff? This dev team does a real good job play testing this new harder content, they are very thorough. It's real neat quality stuff they are crafting, I'd suggest people give it a whirl at various levels, it'll certainly push you to get better on your characters. -
I have two characters I do this with. My main being my dom; there's just so many ways you can go with a build with subtle changes of power picks and pool choices. I have a team build, a solo build and a best I can be hard mode build. My other is my tank; I have my nostalgia build with flight and laser eyes, then there's my damage build and last is the supreme tanking build which I never seem to switch off of. Mostly if you're looking to switch a build you're doing it to bring variety to the team which to me seems better to have variety in well built other characters. I can see wanting to do this with a select few favorite characters though.

I meant the proc will have a high frequency chance of firing. The Entomb I have slotted in an attack that's at 15s recharge so it is set to fire +75% of the time which Hasten and global recharge bonuses make this an even stronger occurrence. The tanker absorb I slotted into my TAoE since it's only a fire once at a time type of proc it's a decent one to put into an AoE and with 16 targets for a chance to fire off of its pretty reliable to fire as well. The Entomb is more consistent though since it doesn't need to rely on a bunch of targets. As far as Presence Pool I swapped Taunt for Provoke and had to drop a ST attack which didn't hurt my chain at all. It sucks to have to sacrifice a power pick for a dead power in the middle there but Unrelenting is just so strong for some builds. I get a 3600 heal over 30s plus lots of offensive goodies and its a rez if ever needed.
-
You can get high DDR on Shield tanks. Mine is at 90% without using Ageless, not too far off of SR. For a heal I went with Unrelenting and made sure to put the tanker and entomb absorb procs into high frequency firing attacks, I've got an extra 900+ first line hp I can count on and can 'heal' it back well enough when it gets chewed away.
-
You want something that can net high resists AND high defenses at least positionals and can attain high DDR so your defense doesn't get neutered. Preferably also something with a heal and good endurance recovery. I love my Shield tank for these because of what Grant Cover gives to the team, I just had to get creative and dip into the various pools for my heal and endurance. There's likely a lot of tank sets that could rock this well enough. It's more about having a good toolkit of powers and build then being proactive and quickly reactive when need be.

Hmm meet up with these heroes in some co-op zone incognito during happy hour and buy them some drinks then when they stumble into a pvp zone its easy pickins. Pretty solid plan.

Everyone has the choice of going to all three areas to start. Two of which have the far superior content. Yet the bland blueside is chosen by so many people. Kind of looks like people tend to more want to congregate to areas with higher populations and opportunities to level faster. Blueside has the DFB and a bunch of task forces other then that it's very hokey. Maybe we should write a story arc where Tyrant and Lord Recluse join forces to obliterate blueside so it forces people to all of this other unplayed content.

I concur with @Astralock if you want well written good content see Praetoria and the Rogue Isles. There is so. much. stuff.
