  1. Yeah love the new set - but I also think the FX needs to be toned down a little bit.
  2. True I suppose, but I think I'd rather get bitten by a radioactive animal than let Dr. Vahz near me with a needle and thread.
  3. I think you only turn Troll if you abuse the stuff (which the Trolls do - to a ridiculous degree). If you go whole-hog on the stuff you go all flashy (see: Supa Trolls)!
  4. Well technically, Dr. Vahz just uses the choicest parts from super powered beings to give his creations powers. So I don't think he's making powers from nothing - more like sewing together parts from already-powered beings and re-using their powers. At least that's from what I can remember.
  5. A few Homecoming streamers I have found on Twitch are: Evardia ChoochAndViv OklahomanCOH
  6. My main is an FF/EB Defender and I had no issues with levelling solo. The Corruptor will probably do more overall damage due to Scourge (though the bonus damage DEFs get when solo is nice, and with Assault I'm doing almost +50% damage). As a Defender you will get some nice status resists 8 levels earlier with Dispersion Bubble, and it is more powerful. In any case, I've successfully solo-levelled with both ATs - really comes down to when you want to get your powers and flavour.
  7. I only sub to one or two services at a time, and change them up if I see a few things I'd like to watch on one of them. I tend to keep an eye on recurring charges - I've found they can tend to sneakily accumulate if you're not careful.
  8. Not surprised at all - look at what one of their big cash cows is: Game Pass - basically a Netflix of games. And what do streaming services need to keep their subscribers? Content! I fully expect more companies to keep patching their games for much longer to keep them working on modern systems - maybe even more "remasters".
  9. Well, just because Homecoming is free doesn't stop people from playing or spending money on other games. I mean personally I play all kinds of other games besides HC. It's not really a question of either/or for most people I think.
  10. City of Titans still posts updates, so I guess it's still being worked on, but yeah progress has been slow. I just look at it like this - if they don't produce anything, then nothing changes - I keep playing Homecoming for as long as I can. If they do manage to produce something, then it's a game that I fully intend to check out to see how it compares to CoH. Some of their concepts really interest me (especially the avatar builder and how powers work) and I'd like to try a fully-realized game. As for whether Homecoming tripped up the successors, I honestly hope not. City of Heroes is a great game, but it's not perfect and there is definite room for improvement.
  11. Unless I'm missing something - I'm pretty sure you CAN sidegrade them AND break components down. Sidegrading costs some extra threads if I recall correctly. You can also downgrade, say, an uncommon into any common you want.
  12. Of course - right as I am in the middle of a playthrough. Took the advice to set the game to update only when started in steam, and will start it with the script extender exe in Vortex - fingers crossed this actually works.
  13. Regarding the "Wrist Blaster" it just looks like it was accidentally left in the description - Paragon was probably re-purposing an unused power they developed. As for the Drones, yeah it would be helpful to know what the original intent for them was. In any case, from the description it feels like Blaster Drone and Drone Barrage work like normal blast powers (i.e. not an autonomous pet) but just have the FX of firing from a drone. One of the IDF Battle Drones have similar attacks IIRC. Maybe toggle the drone which brings up the blast powers in a tray? Jet Pack and Force Barrier are pretty straightforward - there are already powers like them in the game, and Nano Net seems pretty similar to "Electrified Net Arrow" in Tactical Arrow. For Utility Belt - the FX for the Bolas would seem to be the main issue. There are throwable objects and grenades in the game, but I'm not sure if there are any suitable art assets that could be used as a substitute. Closest bola-like thing in the game that comes to mind is Power Push fx from the Energy Blast set.
  14. I'll throw my support for the devs finishing off the last two origin pools as well - when they can get around to it of course. I have characters that both could be great fits for! Also looking forward to running through the new content being developed for sure. Also - just out of curiosity - why shouldn't Homecoming use powers, powersets, art assets, etc. (or even the idea of such things if not directly transferrable) developed by the other servers? I mean it's not like anybody in the community owns the code or IP. If someone creates a "Clown Mastermind" power set, why shouldn't the other servers use it for themselves? With a stats/balance pass and testing of course. Are there any legal issues preventing this?
  15. Nobody is arguing to have the global name visible alongside the character name. I'm not sure where you are getting this from.
  16. This is a non-issue, or at least no more of an issue than it already is in CoH. You do know that you can already find someone's global and local names with slash commands or even the "Notes" option when you click on them? It's not exactly top secret info.
  17. Was curious so I checked some youtube videos (I'm not downloading the game for this lol) and not an "@" name to be seen over other players heads'. I did see some in the chat, but again you should be able to turn that off in the options. It's not surprising as CO, STO and NW are all built on the same engine, so I'm not sure what people would have been complaining about.
  18. The global does not appear over people's heads - at least in Star Trek Online and Neverwinter. And you can turn them off in chat. You can also click on their name in chat or locally to invite them to team etc. It's been a long while since I've played Champions Online but they use the exact same chat system (to the point where you could actually chat with other players across the three games) so I'm assuming the same is there.
  19. It's really too bad the original devs didn't foresee the whole naming issue in advance, though considering how Cryptic's subsequent games handled names they seem to have learned their lesson.
  20. Really? Huh I never really checked - I just assumed as much as some high level enemies just crew through the toggles, but then that could have been simply high accuracy/to-hit buffs. Then that kind of reinforces my opinion that Ice Armor needs a bit of a buff. Like I said - a little Absorb could go a long way. Maybe just change the +HP in Hoarfrost to Absorb and sprinkle some more in one or more other powers, or a mechanic to generate it (like x amount per target affected by Chilling Embrace or icicles).
  21. I've found that Ice Armor is pretty good up until you get to the very highest levels (and incarnate stuff). Like Force Field for Defenders, it could use a little help in the form of some DDR, maybe a little Absorption. One piece of advice that I found helped me in my playthrough - Hoarfrost is less a heal or "oh shit" power (though it can be used as such), more something to be clicked right before jumping in.
  22. I too would like to see some buffs to FF but combining Deflection and Insulation field into one power makes it WAY WAYYYY too good. Also - a T8 nuke in a Support set? Nah that won't fly. Repulsion Bomb does need a bit of a buff but that's going too far with it. Your proposed T9 is also too good - perfect protection from all melee attacks (the most common attack in the game) - even from AVs? Seems a bit over powered to me.
