  1. There is already a melee controller - it's called a Tank. 😉
  2. Agreed. While I think it's great that a lot of Primary and Secondary sets have been proliferated (and would like this trend to continue, along with the addition of brand-new sets), I think there is a lot of room in the area of power pools to help round out a character. Along with expanding the "elemental" themes to different ATs (Fire, Ice, Dark, Stone, Tools/Weapons, Psi, etc.), how about Hero Patron pools, Faction pools (Oroboros for Time-based powers for example), or even oddball pools like "Sidekick" (allows you to summon one pet, and includes some pet buff and utility powers, might be a bit too OP with Controllers and Masterminds). Oh and requisite request to have the Origin pools finished off via Gadgetry and Utility Belt.
  3. There are lots of Fake Nems on Tyrant's Rock in the Cascade Archipelago.
  4. I guess it is the age and not being optimized for modern hardware, but I often find this game gets my fans spinning faster than modern games.
  5. Skip Synapse? Not if you want Task Force Commander.
  6. Ah of course. Hmm - maybe that needs to be tweaked a bit then? Will have to check out the actual numbers, but I rarely seem to even notice that having an effect in the past.
  7. I think Defense-heavy powers at high levels might need a looking at. For Ice Armor, the answer could simply be in the Blaster's Frigid Protection (which is basically a buffed Chilling Embrace). Similarly, for Force Field, a means to provide some +Absorb would be helpful (though I think FF has more issues than just that, the Absorption mechanic would be a big help). I haven't really thought of a good thematic solution for Super Reflexes yet - maybe some means to "roll with the punch" or a "glancing blow" or something to reduce incoming damage?
  8. It was mentioned in one of the post-shutdown "Loregasms" that Genesis was supposed to be something like placeable buff/debuff fields, but beyond the concept I don't think anything concrete was worked on. If the devs ever DO decide to fill out the rest, I'd very much like them to be like the Alpha or Interface slots - passive buffs or procs. We have more than enough powers to click at level 50+, I really don't need any more in my 6 power trays. If additional content is needed (rather than just letting the Incarnate XP build up to unlock the slots as it does now), then I'd recommend 8-man Incarnate TFs (like Apex and Tin Mage) rather than huge multi-team trials. Not only is it easier to recruit for smaller TFs, but they are probably also easier to design, and the smaller team means that your individual powers can actually matter instead of being rendered nearly irrelevant in the league spam.
  9. I for one, can get behind some Incarnate Story Arcs and more Incarnate TFs like Tin Mage and Apex. For one, it's probably easier to design for up to 8 people max. Secondly, I welcome more story arc content added to the game - even end-game stuff. And thirdly, on a regular 8-max team your character can shine, and not be lost in the FX spam of a full league on a single AV.
  10. Yeah love the new set - but I also think the FX needs to be toned down a little bit.
  11. True I suppose, but I think I'd rather get bitten by a radioactive animal than let Dr. Vahz near me with a needle and thread.
  12. I think you only turn Troll if you abuse the stuff (which the Trolls do - to a ridiculous degree). If you go whole-hog on the stuff you go all flashy (see: Supa Trolls)!
  13. Well technically, Dr. Vahz just uses the choicest parts from super powered beings to give his creations powers. So I don't think he's making powers from nothing - more like sewing together parts from already-powered beings and re-using their powers. At least that's from what I can remember.
  14. A few Homecoming streamers I have found on Twitch are: Evardia ChoochAndViv OklahomanCOH
  15. My main is an FF/EB Defender and I had no issues with levelling solo. The Corruptor will probably do more overall damage due to Scourge (though the bonus damage DEFs get when solo is nice, and with Assault I'm doing almost +50% damage). As a Defender you will get some nice status resists 8 levels earlier with Dispersion Bubble, and it is more powerful. In any case, I've successfully solo-levelled with both ATs - really comes down to when you want to get your powers and flavour.
  16. I only sub to one or two services at a time, and change them up if I see a few things I'd like to watch on one of them. I tend to keep an eye on recurring charges - I've found they can tend to sneakily accumulate if you're not careful.
  17. Not surprised at all - look at what one of their big cash cows is: Game Pass - basically a Netflix of games. And what do streaming services need to keep their subscribers? Content! I fully expect more companies to keep patching their games for much longer to keep them working on modern systems - maybe even more "remasters".
  18. lol - look a bit further up the page. 🙂
  19. Well, just because Homecoming is free doesn't stop people from playing or spending money on other games. I mean personally I play all kinds of other games besides HC. It's not really a question of either/or for most people I think.
  20. City of Titans still posts updates, so I guess it's still being worked on, but yeah progress has been slow. I just look at it like this - if they don't produce anything, then nothing changes - I keep playing Homecoming for as long as I can. If they do manage to produce something, then it's a game that I fully intend to check out to see how it compares to CoH. Some of their concepts really interest me (especially the avatar builder and how powers work) and I'd like to try a fully-realized game. As for whether Homecoming tripped up the successors, I honestly hope not. City of Heroes is a great game, but it's not perfect and there is definite room for improvement.
  21. Unless I'm missing something - I'm pretty sure you CAN sidegrade them AND break components down. Sidegrading costs some extra threads if I recall correctly. You can also downgrade, say, an uncommon into any common you want.
  22. Of course - right as I am in the middle of a playthrough. Took the advice to set the game to update only when started in steam, and will start it with the script extender exe in Vortex - fingers crossed this actually works.
  23. Regarding the "Wrist Blaster" it just looks like it was accidentally left in the description - Paragon was probably re-purposing an unused power they developed. As for the Drones, yeah it would be helpful to know what the original intent for them was. In any case, from the description it feels like Blaster Drone and Drone Barrage work like normal blast powers (i.e. not an autonomous pet) but just have the FX of firing from a drone. One of the IDF Battle Drones have similar attacks IIRC. Maybe toggle the drone which brings up the blast powers in a tray? Jet Pack and Force Barrier are pretty straightforward - there are already powers like them in the game, and Nano Net seems pretty similar to "Electrified Net Arrow" in Tactical Arrow. For Utility Belt - the FX for the Bolas would seem to be the main issue. There are throwable objects and grenades in the game, but I'm not sure if there are any suitable art assets that could be used as a substitute. Closest bola-like thing in the game that comes to mind is Power Push fx from the Energy Blast set.
