Current release

Mids AI MVP Installer version 0.0.16 - Bug Fixes.

  • Fixed a bug that caused powers from the "Ignore Powers" list to not be ignored in some circumstances.
  • The labels for Generations and Iterations on the third screen of the wizard are now updated correctly when loading .bwc files.

Current release

Mids AI MVP Installer version 0.0.18 - Updated the Perma Wizard to include values in a scale usable by the Bonus Wizard (i.e. Recharge% / 100). Added new Template directory located in the install directory. Added templates for Perma Phantom Army, Perma Hasten, and Perma Domination.

Using The Bonus Wizard Templates

The easiest way to use the new Bonus Wizard templates is to load up your character, open the Bonus Wizard, click the Load Saved Choices button, navigate to the install directory, and load the template you want. From there, you can just run the Wizard without changing settings, or you can add bonuses and change the Generations and Iterations settings to customize the template. You can even save off your customizations.

Current release

Mids AI MVP Installer version 0.0.19 - Added templates for Perma Eclipse, Perma Rage, Defense Capped Smashing, Resistance Capped Smashing Tanker and Brute, Resistance Capped Smashing Epic ATs, and Resistance Capped Smashing All Others.

Excluding Powers From Bonus Calculations

A new ability in version 0.0.20 allows you to select powers to be excluded when calculating  bonuses, while still allowing the powers to get IOs that produce bonuses.

 

In the example below we want to try out the new Mez Resistance template, but we have a power, Rune of Protection, that produces Mez Resistance. We don't want that power's effects considered by the Bonus Wizard.

We start the Bonus Wizard, load the Mez Reistance template and head to the third screen. There we see a new option that allows us to control which powers affect bonuses. Exactly what we want.

We open the dialog and turn off Rune of Protection. Also notice that Health is turned off. This is part of the saved Mez Resistance template. Health gives a high resistance to sleep that tricks the wizard into thinking you have high Mez Resistance.

We save our choices and run the wizard. Even though Rune of Protection's Mez Resistance effects were not considered by the wizard, the power still gets IOs that give the build Mez Resistance.

Recommended Practice

Mez Resistance, Defense, and Damage Resistance are common areas where a slow-to-recharge power could give better results than the build actually has most of the time. In those cases, use this new feature to ignore the effects of those powers when calculating bonuses.

So so so great of a work you are doing, it is greatly appreciated!

 

On your templates, one thing you might consider doing is adding a fire farmer template with soft-capped fire defense and capped fire resistance (mostly for Brutes, but some people use other character types, which effects the resistance cap from 90 to 75 if I remember correctly). I mention this because it is by far the MOST created/used character in the game. 🙂

Just adding a defense enhancement to Weave puts you over the cap and there are quite a few empty slots that can be moved around to increase damage.

I was using the .bwc template of the capped fire defense and fire resistance. It errors on the part where I use the bonus wizard to do the iterations

Excluding Slots From Evolution

Version 0.0.23 allows you to select slots to be excluded when evolving your toon. This is the final feature to be added to the MVP.

 

The access to this feature is located on the Generations and Iterations screen of the Wizard. It's called Control which slots are changed during evolution.

The option opens a dialog the provides a list of your toon's powers on the left. Selecting a power shows a list of that power's slots on the right. If a slot is checked, it can evolve. If unchecked, it cannot evolve. Set the slots as you wish and click OK to save your changes.

Recommended Practice

Use this feature when your build has slots you don't want the Wizard to change. If you save your choices to a .bwc file, your slot selections are included in the file.

The source code has been released!

 

Doctors have a saying: "First, do no harm." That's the philosophy I tried to follow while adding the new features. My code should not modify or interfere with the original code that was already working. So changes made to the code were either placed in new classes or an existing class was declared "partial", a feature that let me extend the code with my changes in a separate file. As an example, my additions to the DatabaseAPI.cs code can be found in DatabaseAPI.AI.cs. With the exception of adding menu items and one or two extremely minor changes, the new code is additions to the code base, not changes to the existing code.

 

Like the code from the proof of concept, this code has tests where ever possible. Unlike the code from the proof of concept, this code has an actual design. It's not all thrown into a couple of files, it has a much better organization. To see the new code, look for files with AI in their names.

Hi - not sure where to post this so if it's not the right spot I apologize.

 

One of the others in my SG pointed out last night that you'd added AI to Mids, and I decided to download it and give it a try, First couple of experimental runs came back with some odd results but I attributed them to either not properly setting it up, or not giving it enough generations & iterations to work through things. Being able to see only 11 snapshots in view snapshots window is a bug. I'll get a fix up as soon as  can. Should be later today.

 

If you're seeing strange results I can take a look at that too if you post files with your Mids build and a .bwc file with your Wizard settings. The .bwc files are created by using the"Save Your Choices" button on the 3rd screen of the Wizard.

I still have problems with the results (specifically on testing a fire farm brute build) though. Based on what I think it is supposed to do by trying to attain the 1st capped number, then the second, and on down; the build I am trying continues to ignore fire defense at all even though it is the #1 thing. That was my starting build template. In this example, I added 5 target capped AI numbers in order of importance (which I thought it would take them from 1st to 5th for hitting the caps before going to the next one). I used your bonus cap number examples (from your guide's post) as targets...

 

1st: Defense (fire) Cap of 0.45

2nd: Resistance (fire) Cap of 0.9

3rd: Recharge Time Cap of 2.0

4th: Recovery Cap of 1.5

5th: Damage Cap of 0.5

 

 I also used your slot controls to make the Wizard ignore changing some bonus slots that I pretty much knew I wanted overall...

I went with 50 Generations/20 Iterations

 

I then went through the build and manually turned on all toggles that would be on while fighting, and maximized all the enhancement levels to their maxes and +5 maxes on the ones that were eligible. I also noticed on Char, it game me 2 Entomb enhancements, 2 Superior Entomb enhancements, and 2 Superior Winter's Bite enhancements. Also on Fire Ball it used Frozen Blast instead of Superior Frozen Blast. Why would anyone maximizing their build ever leave a Winter set not catalysted to the Superior form at level 50? I am guessing the Wizard does not compute builds with maximized enhancement slots at level 50. (Also some people may not know this, but if Stealth is toggled on from the Concealment Power Pool; unlike Invisibility, your defense bonuses while fighting do not go away entirely, the bonus is only halved). In the end, this is what it gave me (this is after my maximized enhancement slots and all toggle powers for fighting turned were turned on)...

The fire defense is at 17.5% while strangely enough the smashing/lethal defense came out even higher at 19.32%

The fire resistance is way over the 90% hard cap, which is usually easily attained while getting fire defense to the 45% anyways; but that extra unusable 10% could be better used pretty much anywhere. The other caps were also not reached, where on a build aimed at maxed levels and bonuses (most of them at 50+5) would probably change everything. Anyways, that's my results and thoughts; if any of it helps you even a little I am happy. 🙂

 

I have had much more success with the exported IO Bonus Spreadsheet using those numbers to try and maximize what was needed to attain the 5 choice targets. I have a very close to maxed fire defense/resistance with 8 seconds away from perma-hasten. As a fire farmer brute, the fire defense/resistance caps are pretty much mandatory, having perma hasten in the mix for recharge without gimping damage is tricky, but also the goal. Damage output is also key because you can be as unkillable as possible against fire, but if you aren't doing enough damage output in the lowest amount of time, then it takes way longer than it should/could to clear a map. With this build being very endurance unfriendly based on toggle powers, I also know recovery numbers need to be increased far more than normal also.   

 

Also on my build made by looking up numbers on the spreadsheet, I always maximize my numbers, meaning if a power enhancement has 50 maximum level, then 50  is what I use (along with the +5 bonus to available slots. I think anyone looking to maximize their build (whether using a unique or carbon-copy build from the forums, the IO spreadsheet, or your AI tool) would never leave the enhancements at the level the AI leaves them at. Is it possible that is why certain obvious bonuses to hit the caps aren't used like multiple level 50 Winter sets/purple sets? Just a thought, as one option you might consider would be having the Wizard automatically maximize all enhancement slots before doing the Generations/Iterations, that could cause a very big change in the overall numbers giving greater weight to the purple sets/winter sets to hit bonuses on a Influence-Price-Doesn't-Matter build. Once you hit 50, for most people doing a level 50 respec; price at that point doesn't matter. I have 15 level 50 characters each of which have bee or will be outfitted with between 1 and 2 billion influence enhancements. 

 

P.S. On the spreadsheet, it seems some of your slot levels are incorrect on some of the PVP slots... I would have to relook at some to pinpoint the ones that are off) Let me know if any of this doesn't make sense, as it was put together here over the last few days. 🙂

I'm seeing similar results on your build. I don't know why it's happening, but I'm looking into it.

That's true, but you can easily fix it using the Slots/Enhancements -> Set All IOs To... -> Maximum menu option. That doesn't mean I shouldn't fix it in the wizard too. 🙂

If it's not too much trouble, please let me know what the errors are. I'm not doing any calculations to build the spreadsheet, just displaying Mids data. But I can clean the data up if I know where the errors are.
