hakurr Posted September 6, 2020 Posted September 6, 2020 ok i have created a number of other toons and found them to be my favorite of their archetype. now i am looking at the brute and trying to figure out what will i like and enjoy playing when it comes to a brute. below is listed the archetypes i have to give an idea of what i play. all are at 50 and full incarnate and all are completely decked out and able to pretty much do anything so now it is time for me to move on to my next character to work on. Any suggestions of what to play next. Blaster = Fire/Atomic Corrupter = Water/Kinetic Sentinel = Fire / Rad Tanker = Rad/Rad Scrapper = War Mace / BIO
SuperPlyx Posted September 6, 2020 Posted September 6, 2020 (edited) Since you have a War Mac scrapper you should do a Titan Wep brute. This way random teammates can explain to you how TW is better on scrappers. At which point you can say you have a War Mace scrapper already..then they can tell you how War Mace is better on brutes.Which leads to them telling you how you got both of them wrong. Now pair Titan Wep with Dark Armour so they may also explain how this is a terrible Armour for TW ...... Fun times are had by all. Edited September 6, 2020 by SuperPlyx 5
Bill Z Bubba Posted September 6, 2020 Posted September 6, 2020 Claws. You've already done bio and rad armors, so go for the untouchable blender of doom that is claws/sr.
DethStryke Posted September 6, 2020 Posted September 6, 2020 (edited) I second claws. A better set than I have always believed. I went claws/wp and he is a beast. Other good sets, at least for me, are ice/ice, ss/fire, and one of my fav psi/wp. Edited September 9, 2020 by DethStryke
hakurr Posted September 6, 2020 Author Posted September 6, 2020 i like the idea of trying out Super Reflex for my secondary. what is the best to complement Super Reflex due to its lack of self heal and endurance management? i was thinking maybe Dark Melee? but does this put out decent damage or is Dark Melee sub par on damage out put i have a real lack of experience with either
Doomguide2005 Posted September 7, 2020 Posted September 7, 2020 In the long run with a post 50 build I've found neither endurance or a self heal a concern. Passive regen takes care of regaining health (along with inspires) and my main (Claws/SR) can basically attack non-stop. That said DM does offer Siphon Life which would, particularly while leveling, help when the rng gets brutal on you.

Adding KD to Spin and KB>KD to shockwave plus Focus' chance for KD will provide a TON of mitigation to allow for (as DG2005 states) your natural regen to do its thing. DM's damage output can be nice but really only when Soul Drain is fully utilized. It's aoe output is not very good, even with the recent Shadow Maul buff.
Outrider_01 Posted September 8, 2020 Posted September 8, 2020 (edited) Electric armor. Built in +recharge, easy to fix the knock back weakness with IO, low recharge Heal/Endurance Reduction/Regenin a single power, endurance drain(not required really), and a resistance spread about as good as dark armor; protects against Psi (can cap with 6th slot purple if a scrapper, decentlevelfor a brute) but weak to Neg energy. Without_Pause Posted September 8, 2020 Posted September 8, 2020 I know some stalker players have spoken well of StJ as a pairing with /sr. I haven't tried the pairing, but StJ is one of my favorite melee sets. It's likely second only to Claws for me since I have done Claws to 50 twice. Top 10 Most Fun 50s. 1. Without Mercy: Claws/ea Scrapper. 2. Outsmart: Fort 3. Sneakers: Stj/ea Stalker. 4. Emma Strange: Ill/dark Controller. 5. Project Next: Ice/stone Brute. 6. Waterpark: Water/temp Blaster. 6. Mighty Matt: Rad/bio Brute. 7. Without Hesitation: Claws/sr Scrapper. 8. Within Reach: Axe/stone Brute. 9. Without Pause: Claws/wp Brute. 10. Chasing Fireworks: Fire/time Controller. I had a Claws/ea scrapper going, but canned it after I just accepted I knew what it would be like in the end with having an /ea stalker at 50 as well. If I ever had to start over from the ground up, that might be Without Pause 3.0. 1 Top 10 Most Fun 50s. 1. Without Mercy: Claws/ea Scrapper. 2. Outsmart: Fort 3. Sneakers: Stj/ea Stalker. 4. Saikochoro Posted September 9, 2020 Posted September 9, 2020 I really enjoy my savage melee / energy aura brute. Great survivability and great damage. Savage leap is very fun and lets you engage enemies with a boom.
