mine says , program error.  unable to locate the game data files.  was fine last night. havent touched it since...

Could you try deleting tequilia.xml (make sure this is not the one with the shot glass icon), tequilialog.xml, and TequiliaActivityLog.txt in the directory where you have COH installed? Then revalidate. Don't know if this will work but, worth a shot.

For those that tend to log out at the corners under Atlas near Miss Liberty, be prepared to spawn inside of the decorative pumpkins and be stuck.  I'm currently going through this as I usually log off there.  Fly does not work, nor does super speed.  You actually need a teleport to get out of the scenery.

Once I'm out of this myself, anyone that needs help with this particular problem can ask Chloe-01 thru -10 for a teleport, if someone else doesn't help first.

((Update: I got some help from Shadowe in one instance where I was stuck, and in another /stuck worked.  My offer still stands if /stuck does not work, but I am cleared of the decorations.  Thank you Shadowe for your help.))

Where is the game installed?

Documents or downloads is not where you want it.

Install it in a directory similar to C:/Games/City of Heroes

Also, make sure the entire directory is whitelisted in your anti-virus and windows defender.

Both of these issues pop up every time there is an update due to the above.

Just want to make sure that tick - ' at the end is just a typo on the forums and not in your manifest URL within game? I'm sure it is the former but, you never know.

Can you also try in your browser of choice going to the URL? This will not fix anything. I just want to rule out possibilities. I want to make sure you can see something which starts with:

I'm curious how you solved the Windows 7 and Intel issues. Any info you can share?

The Windows 7 issue was actually the same issue that affects Factorio seen here - https://forums.factorio.com/viewtopic.php?t=72946. Thanks to an incredibly helpful tester we discovered that the registry tweak from that post worked, and then we worked from there to solve it in the game itself.

The Intel issue was a lot more work, and Number Six would know the technical details more than I.

The windows 7 issue was that the default UDP receive buffer size on Windows 7 is too small. Initially we hadn't gone down that road because there were scattered reports of the same problem on 8/10, but all the ones we were able to verify turned out to be on 7 and were solved by adjusting the buffer.

The Intel issue is a lot more complicated/annoying and I'm planning on doing a dev blog or similar post about it. People may find it interesting since our fix involves doing something Microsoft engineers say never to do under any circumstances.

That sounds hilarious, looking forward to seeing what was done!

I've tried what's been mentioned and get this message still. Any help would be appreeshed!

error.jpg

First thing to try here would be to close and reopen Tequila. If that does not resolve it, re-validate the files through Options.
