Issue 28 More Level 50 Content

I saw that you added some mid 30s content for issue 27, but we seriously need more content for our max level characters going forward.

 

My suggestion is to perhaps extend the Croatoa content for level 50s,  and answer the Mayor's question:   What DID happen to the male Cabal members?

 

I never felt that the Redcaps were appropriate top level bad guys for that zone, that someone else was behind the scenes pulling the strings.   I always

wanted to do an AE arc to answer that question, but the AE system is just so limiting - be nice if something could be developed for the game itself.

The plans seem to revolve around nerfing/buffing power sets and on systems...  just hope they eventually get around to adding content, and soon.   I already had one relative that I suggested

the game to quit due to boredom....   not everyone in the world thinks "rolling another alt" is all that fun.

I don't know about "soon," but it sounds like they're working on balance specifically with the intent to add level 50 content.

Regardless, remember. They're a small volunteer team trying to (and managing to) do a lot. We're not going to get 4 issues a year, packed with powersets, tons of arcs, etc.

You get a hint that the Redcaps are sort of the grunts (or at least heavies) of the larger Unseelie Court with the occasional spawn of Unseelie around Halloween time. That said, Redcaps are plenty nasty (at least mythologically) to have done something like this almost entirely on their own for sick amusement. I do think that Croatoa and Celtic myth would make a great background setting for Incarnate Content, my only reservation is that with Mot, we've had a magical threat, praetorian could be seen as a Technology threat (I guess with elements of science), so maybe next incarnate/max level arc could focus on something more mutant or natural origin as a nemesis goes?

Pre-level 50 story content, which is not what the OP is looking for.

If they ever addressed anything about the full fomorian courts or how the tuatha...no, I have to stop.  I have issues with the frankly terrible way that Croatoa's denizens are depicted and presented. It's so "Evil Disney" as opposed to what the actual myths are like.

 

ARGH.

 

The BEST that can be said for Croatoa is that possibly they are all "American Gods" versions of the denizens, because they ain't anything I recognise.

I know one of their long-term plans is to "complete" the Kallisti Wharf zone with full content. That zone is level 40-50 and Paragon planned it for being a stage for Incarnate level content on Hero and Villian sides. I don't think they are anywhere near completion to that goal, but the Homecoming devs have mentioned that they will be working on it. Gotta remember that all the content being worked on is by a very small development team on a part-time, volunteer basis with very little internal testing.

 

I do think that would be a great idea for expanding on Croatoa - the Unseelie Court would be the natural progression of threat and they could be very dangerous enemies up close, perhaps even Incarnate level. They could do the Dark Astoria route - the entire zone of Croatoa enters the spirit realm and every magical entity within becomes a hundred times more powerful.
