Tankshock
How does a proc work now in a location power like Rain of Fire or Sleet? Does it proc only when the power is activated, or every time it does damage?
merrypessimist
As I recall it's once when cast, then every couple seconds after that. Three seconds, I think? It may have been "check every tic cycle, then suppress briefly when it triggers" but it's been enough years that I don't remember.
Adeon Hawkwood
So with the classic fixed percentage procs they would generally have a chance to proc every 10 seconds in toggle and pseudopet powers. However with the shift to PPM I think they changed it back to have a chance to proc on every tick of damage (since the proc chance scales down based on the frequency of the ticks). Defender Smash! Tankshock
Interesting. When I cast Rain of Fire I get a big screen flash that the Sentinel absorb triggered, but then no more while it rains. I'll have to record some combat logs (never done that before).
Bopper
Did anyone get confirmation on how this mechanic works? Documentation is lacking. Perhaps there are some skilled testers who can detail how PPM works for all facets of application. Tankshock
Turns out it's on activation and then every 10 seconds. Just not as many chances by the time 10 secs pass.

I'm trying hard to track down any and all good information about this. Do you happen to have a link to your claim, or was it from personal testing? SwitchFade
We now have 3 ppm threads, mods, can we close/consolidate them?
Tankshock
Multiple anecdotal + personal testing. Switch, not all PPM threads are created equal ;), they are addressing different questions. Just don't click on them if you aren't interested.

Just don't click on them if you aren't interested. You created 2 ppm threads. And there's a third one. Perhaps my request of consolidation is relevant, and maybe the thread can be renamed to PPM FAQ? Strange, it might actually get more people talking in one place and Garner more feedback. But you know, that's all based on the suggestion that more interest and input is good. *Shrug*
Roughtrade
Switch, not all PPM threads are created equal And not one of the current ones say what PPM is. Ya know, there are only about a million and six powers in this game. Maybe in the first post you might spell out what your issue is? Possibly not everyone uses the same acronym as you. THIS Yes, please do spell out what PPM is; e.g. damage per second (DPS) etc. Thanks! :)

Tankshock
Procs per minute. Everyone does use that acronym(even ParagonWiki and the devs), but I appreciate that there are new players.
