PPM question

How does a proc work now in a location power like Rain of Fire or Sleet?  Does it proc only when the power is activated, or every time it does damage?

As I recall it's once when cast, then every couple seconds after that. Three seconds, I think?  It may have been "check every tic cycle, then suppress briefly when it triggers" but it's been enough years that I don't remember.

So with the classic fixed percentage procs they would generally have a chance to proc every 10 seconds in toggle and pseudopet powers. However with the shift to PPM I think they changed it back to have a chance to proc on every tick of damage (since the proc chance scales down based on the frequency of the ticks).

Interesting.  When I cast Rain of Fire I get a big screen flash that the Sentinel absorb triggered, but then no more while it rains.  I'll have to record some combat logs (never done that before).

Did anyone get confirmation on how this mechanic works? Documentation is lacking. Perhaps there are some skilled testers who can detail how PPM works for all facets of application.

I'm trying hard to track down any and all good information about this. Do you happen to have a link to your claim, or was it from personal testing?

You created 2 ppm threads. And there's a third one. Perhaps my request of consolidation is relevant, and maybe the thread can be renamed to PPM FAQ? Strange, it might actually get more people talking in one place and Garner more feedback.

Procs per minute.  Everyone does use that acronym(even ParagonWiki and the devs), but I appreciate that there are new players.
