My main, and first toon on live was Sistah Powah, Invuln/SS tank who I loved. On Homecoming I rerolled her as a brute and she just hit 50, as I've taken my time to roll her through as much content as possible on the way up. She's still one of my favorite characters thematically, but I remember her being more enjoyable to play back in the day. I don't know if it was the extra tankiness, or if it's just that the SS/Invuln combo is just too "classic car' now. Yeah, a 57 Chevy looks nice and is fun to cruise around in, but then you decide to take the Tesla to work one day and it just feels...not better. But different and maybe more enjoyable, more "now". 

I dunno, I haven't really thought of a maxed-out build for her yet but maybe that would help? Anyone have a build they love? 

Or is it just the simple fact that the power combo doesn't quite compete with so many others now? Which is a shame because SS/Inv is such a comic book iconic theme.

Back on live I had my main, but then I had the one I was most sentimental about. That one became my main here, and yet, it isn't even my most favorite build on HC. Even in my Top 10 50's, my most likely one to get completed first is my Fort(#2).

When i first got back into the game I settled into a SS Invul Brute in about month 2.  Hyperstrike built this for me and i played it for 6 months.  Still have the character with all sets in place.  Like having a classic Mercedes in the garage....

Look up my Invuln Framework thread.
Grab the Brute template.
Fill it in.
Nigh-upon godhood ensues.
 


If you don't mind giving up the Recharge, look up my "Mo Durable" build.  If you get yourself familiar with the Framework build, adapting the Brute Framework template to a "Mo Durable" is straightforward.

i feel ya!
Regen scrapping ...so much upkeep just to get down the same road. but, there's somethin to be said about driver involvement that newer cars lack. a certain presence, mindfulness, and higher degree of concentration -which can be rewarding.  😄

wife's Mazda 6 is an incredible bit of modern kit, great value, & quite pretty in it's own way, but we both know the troublesome & quirky & uncomfortable 5-speed LS ElCo is more exciting.
