Super Strength ST DPS

Gobbledygook

Recommended Posts

Until Scrappers and Stalkers get SS, I think the AT with the best chances of pulling off decent ST dps (no, I have not heard about this beyond the thread in the Scrapper forums) would be the Brute.

Unfortunately for me, (and my investment portfolio) I am no good with numbers.

What attacks from SS are mandatory, and what would help the most?

I'd like to avaoid Patron attacks, if possible, but am open to other pool powers, including LBE.

Everybody needs a Kryptonian, right?

Anyone have anyone attack chains lying around?

Foot Stomp, Rage, and Knockout Blow are definite, must haves and a case could be made for Haymaker. I see no compelling reason to ever take Hand Clap. The other attacks are to taste--take/skip them if you want. On the upside, this leaves you room to take other powers (like Cross Punch, which can help your general lack of AoE options).

I have nothing against Super Strength (my SS/Bio being my most perfect creation to date), but have you considered Energy Melee? It is slightly less fixated on single target damage but still quite good at it.

For ST DPS, you will need Rage, Knockout Blow, Gloom. Then you have to decide if you want Haymaker and/or Cross Punch, and maybe sprinkle in Dark Obliteration proc'd out.

have a Em/Rad Scrapper that I love, was just wanting to revisit SS since I haven't played since beforethe Servers were shut down.

Cross Punch was definitely part of the plan. Well, in the idea box. Don't really have a plan, yet.

Hand clap has one case use where it shines, stacking the stun with Oppressive Gloom from Dark Armor, and being proc'd with KB/KD and FF: recharge. It provides great mitigation to the whole team stunning mobs and knocking things on their asses.

Personally I'm in the camp though that it should do some modicum of damage as well,  in which event would make it almost mandatory as otherwise SS gets no aoe until Footstomp.

That entire Tank to Brute translation bit where you have to sink more slots into bringing up Resistance/Defense is where the problem begins and usually hard choices have to be made.

Well, from the advice I'm getting, it seems Gloom will be mandatory.

While you have to satisfy yourself, in dpa terms it is roughly equivalent to Knockout Blow. If you're focusing on single target damage, it would seem to be a real plus.

Personally, I went with Earth Mastery, but I was working with a different imperative.

Would you recommend a different patron pool?

Gloom and dark obliteration are good and are what i usually use. Some of the other Epics are ok though if you have a theme like Pyre, Mu etc.
