It’s a dang brawler, man.

You’re basically a scrapper with a bit more controlled crits.

I took fire mastery for fire ball, and with my global recharge being over 200%, i can basically cycle between that and frozen aura.  I don’t even need frost so I got rid of it.

Basically, I start a fight like this: AS>fire ball>frozen aura>ice patch>energy absorption>repeat.  Use ice sword and freezing touch when any of the others aren’t off cd, or when fighting single target.

with ice patch and chilling embrace, enemies stay put.  I always hate chasing down enemies, and that happens A LOT on my other stalker.  Chilling embrace seems to draw aggro so enemies are more likely to stay put, WHICH I LOVE.

When I really want a group dead, I use melt armor then the t4 damage path fire judgement.  All die except bosses, which I mop up quickly.

Man, this is probably my favorite stalker yet and it’s likely due to the control that ice offers.

Thoughts?

A friend recommended ice/ice to me and feels the same as you! I ended up going ice/stone but only because I haven’t played the set on a stalker yet. I hope i didn’t make a bad decision…..

My ice/ice stalker is easily my favorite of any stalker I've played/tried.

My Ice/Regen has turned out surprisingly well... I think Ice/ is a little bit of a sleeper set.

As in need of a revamp that regen is, ice melee is probably the best it pairs with.  Ice patch will give you control you need to survive.

Nah, bruh

Stone is a top tier stalker set.  You’ll be like me, but you won’t have the psi hole.  You’ll also edge me out in the damage department cause of brimstone armor.

I got you beat in the t9 area tho.  Ice has everyone beat in t9

Early levels, yes. Now, it's for when I get swarmed... Frozen Aura and auto-hit sleep is an AMAZING pause button. And with Regen's kit, Ice's controls, and AS's fear... wow.

ATE end, but as I'm building it out, is very smooth (90% complete). Currently running through NW again through Ouros (Praetorian only lvl 50 goal), and at +2x2 I beat "Defend the Midnight Mansion" with only 1 death to the triple EB spawn... And was comfortable enough during the rest of the phases that I swept and cleared the map for exp.

Death is the best debuff.

The nice thing is Ice Patch also doesn't need any slots. So even post-early game you don't feel like you've overinvested in it. One recharge and it's happy all game long.

"Run around a corner and drop an Ice Patch" has saved me quite a few times when the rest of the team has wiped. Now you're falling over AND lined up all nice like for Frost & Frozen Aura.

I'm running an EndRed... global has it recharging in under 15 seconds, but that 10 End hit... oof.

I love ice patch.  I don’t even need it for survivability.  I use it because it keeps enemies from running around.  With chilling embrace and ice patch, most enemies don’t run from me.  As I’ve already stated, I HATE chasing down enemies.

on my savage/shield stalker, half the fight is spent chasing stragglers.

Old skewl

I remember my fire ice tank back when wolves and dreck was a thing (they nerfed wolves making it a timed mission but didn’t touch dreck for a long time).  Herding up the whole map then dropping ice patch and burn on them.  Those were the days.  That was peak coh, fella’s.

Ice Ice stalker is the best. it has great survivability due to high CC and damage, decent AOE for a stalker, it slows enemy attack rate and recharges, theres nothing not to like.
