I am a returning player (haven't played since the game went down in 2012) and I was hoping to get a few quick questions answered.

1. How do you go about getting the fast travel/teleport abilities (Ouroboros portal; whole team teleport; fast travel to mission)?

2. Is there a portal to go to Cimerrora (sp?) -- I can't remember how to get there either.

Thanks for any help!

The fast travel/teleport ability you can either be logged into and hang around Pocket D for an hour or you can find all of the Exploration badges for one zone.  It is actually pretty easy to get all the exploration badges now without resulting to the wiki or vidmaps.  When you fight enemies in a zone, there is a chance that when you defeat them you will receive a tip.  (Chances are higher with the higher power the foe is, bosses better chance lts or minions for example.  Level does not matter, nor does your it matter if you outlevel them.  Grey enemies can give you tips.  Tips then lead to exploration badges.

One note, once you have the fast travel power, you need to have an exploration badge for the zone you want to teleport into.

For Ouroboros portal, you can get it through certain missions, I highly recommend the Faultline arcs.   The easiest ways is to have someone drop one and just use it.

The Chimerrora portal is inside the Midnighters club house.  Go in, go up stairs and through the door.  The portal is a clickie an an alcove.

First of all, welcome back to Paragon City and the Rogue Isles!

1. For the Ouroboros portal, take the TUNNEL in Atlas Park or Mercy Island to Night Ward.  Once in Night Ward, go to the mansion and enter it.  You'll receive a badge that unlocks the Midnighter's Club in Steel Canyon or Cap au Diable.  Enter the Midnighter's Club, and go to Cimerora.  Congratulations, you now have the Ouroboros portal.

As for Team Transporter and Mission Transporter, they are available from the P2W vendor in Atlas Park, Mercy Island, and Pocket D, as well as the T4V vendor in Nova Praetoria.

2. There is currently no portal to Cimerora.  You have to access it from the Midnighter's Club in Steel Canyon or Cap au Diable.

While it's true that there is no portal to Cimerora, if you went inside the mansion in Night Ward and received the badge, you can then use the LFG tab in Chat, choose the Imperious taskforce, lock it to yourself, hit ok, and you will teleport to Cimerora. This method can be used to teleport to any zone with a contact that starts a TF/SF as long as you have them unlocked which most are by default.

Note that if you do do that, you should immediately type /teamquitinternal after arriving at your destination as it can be bugged and prevent you from being able to join a team unless you use that command.

Good to know. Haven't experienced that myself.

Welcome back! Glad to see a returning player - a lot of quality of life changes have been made since 2012 here on the Homecoming servers. If you're an avid patch note investigator, I would recommend reading through the changes made over the past few Issues (25, 26, and 27) and their "Pages" or more focused updates (i.e., 1, 2, 3, etc.). Check out the fairly updated Homecoming City of Heroes Wiki for all the details: https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Main_Page

To answer your specific questions:

The LongRangeTeleporter.png.4970195b31b9e2546510622430b293f0.png Long Range Teleporter (along with the powers referenced below) are part of an improved player travel concept here on Homecoming. If you're interested in a longer in-depth discussion post, I will refer you to the below 'Spoiler' window. Long Range Teleporter is unlocked by the Passport Accolade, which itself is unlocked by collecting an exploration accolade in any zone with a Base Portal (see the "Complete Base Portal List" below for reference), or using the other two methods below;

  1. Unlock the Pocket D VIP Gold Club Member badge (for spending 1 hour in Pocket D) and the Long Range Teleporter accolade power will unlock as well.
  2. Players can purchase the power for 1,000,000 inf from a Pay 2 Win (P2W) in Paragon City and the Rogue Isles or Transact 4 Victory (T4V) in Praetorian zones. These vendors are in nearly every single zone, so if you open your mini-map, just look for their name/icon and 'check out their wares.'

In addition to the above, the below powers are consolidated together in the 281168755_TeleporterPopmenu.png.65fc58e8b615ae49d7ac718fc1e1c38e.png Fast Travel macro icon which is automatically added to your character when you unlock any of the below powers:

.... and to answer your second question; yes there is a portal to access Cimerora. It is located in the Midnighter Club (see below screenshot). In order to access the Midnighter Club, you will need to either complete the Initiation mission or travel to the Praetorian Night Ward zone and then in to the Midnighter's House to secure the "House Hunter" badge which will subsequently grant you the ability to enter the Midnighter Club in Paragon City/Rogue Isles and then get to Cimerora.

Players can also access Cimerora via the Looking for Group or LFG tab on their Chat bar once the zone is unlocked by selecting the "Time's Arrow" Task Force and selecting "Lock the event for your group" and the clicking "Enter" once the que pops up.

Log out in Pocket D for a couple hours and you should get a long range teleport power.  For bonus points, log out in the Architect Entertainment section on the blue side, as you'll be able to work on 2 day job badges that way.  Welcome back!

It is worth noting that Homecoming changed the minimum level to access Ouroboros from 14 down to 1 (or is it 2? 1 goes by so fast) So if you happen to be in Atlas Park, just do a broadcast asking for someone to toss down an O-portal.  Usually one or two will be happy to help.  You also no longer have to acquire the badge at the top of the sundial once in Ouroboros in order to fully unlock it.  It should do it automatically upon your arrival.

Someone mentioned the TUNNEL system.  Don't know if you'd recall that or not.  It's the big swirly, galaxy-looking disk between two guards found next to some transportation hubs like the Train Station in Atlas Park, Talos Island, and Founders Falls.  Zones without the train have it in other locations, like next to ferry boats.

One other form of transportation to consider: shard bases.  I believe every one of the server/shards has a base that kind folk have assembled to allow anyone to travel regardless of whether they have a supergroup with a base or not.  Simply ask for some good soul to share the macro with you which should drop a shortcut into your powers trays.  Then move close to a base entry portal and click that shortcut.  The one in Excelsior, for example, has most everything you need except the auction house and supergroup storage (It does have the personal vaults, though).  And, of course, it has portals to most locations in the game.   And these macros work with the Supergroup Portal power purchasable with INF from the P2W vendors, as well as charges of the Rapid Response portal earnable from the Rapid Response day jobs badge.  No need to join a supergroup to earn it.  Just stand on or very close to a base portal when you log out, and you'll earn it over time.

Nope.  You have to be IN THE GAME and in Pocket D for one hour.  Logging out in Pocket D will get you progress toward the Clubber day job but is of no help getting the Long Range Telepoter.

  • Thanks 1

Originally on Infinity.  I have Ironblade on every shard.  -  My only AE arc:  The Origin of Mark IV  (ID 48002)

Link to the story of Toggle Man, since I keep having to track down my original post.

Also depending on the order in which you do stuff, once you have access to the Midnighter's Club, you can get the Ouro portal by entering and clicking on the crystal to go to Cimerora, since you are breaking the time barrier by doing that. No need to leave the cave, just go back if you are low level.

Thank you all for the great information! It is much appreciated. I definitely have a lot to re-learn and a lot of new power sets to try out. Thanks again!
