Looking for updated PB Information

Hey all! 

I'm just looking to pick everyone's brain on this AT, I never really touched the PB and WS back on live believe it or not.

 

Anyways, I was looking for build ideas and methods for a very strong human form PB that can splash into the other two forms if needed. Is perma light form still achievable? And if so how is it done.   My priority here is to be max damage, but be able to go dwarf if in trouble. Any help would be appreciated!

Welcome to our dusty little corner of the forums! I'm sure someone might be kicking around that wouldn't mind their brain being picked in relation to all things Peacebringer (I don't have a ton of time atm, myself). Edit: While I realize the link I shared pertained to a Warshade build, the two ATs are pretty similar in terms of what basic types of skills they each get, so a fair amount of the slotting would still be on par for Peacebringers. That said, there aren't a lot of bi-form builds floating around for PB, so one that's thrown together might end up looking like a cross between one of the more popular bi-form WS builds, and a Human form PB build.

Here are my tips since no one is jumping in:

 

If you want to max things out on a pb, you probably want to just stick with human and not worry about dwarf except when exemping. If toggle suppression was a thing it would be a different story, but since it isn't you are generally better off keeping your defense toggles from pool powers running in human. Getting Lightform perma is fairly easy, especially if you are going to use ageless destiny. Frankenslot Lightform with a few res/rech ios and boost them, then grab Hasten and a few recharge set bonuses. Once you get there, you can decide how much defense you want, but you can get to softcap if you push for it.

 

For damage, I believe the best chain around is radiant strike, cross punch, and gleaming blast, with photon seekers whenever they are up. You can get two -res IOs in with that chain and quickly cycle radiant strike, which is your best single target attack. IStrike is a trap which you can use if you want, but it will lower your overall damage. For AoE, you can live with solar flare, cross punch, the nuke and photon seekers, but this is where you could consider the forms to give you more aoe attacks. Again though, it will detoggle weave/maneuvers/combat jumping/combat flight so may not be worth the defense loss.

With enough recharge, you might get away with Inca, Radiant, Gleaming, Radiant... having to take boxing/kick to get cross punch up to speed sounds kinda wasteful.

 

Let's see...

 

Incandescent Strike

Arcanatime 3.432sec

Recharge 20sec

 

Radiant Strike

Arcanatime 1.32sec

Recharge 10sec

 

Gleaming Blast

Arcanatime 1.848sec

Recharge 8sec

 

So Rad Strike needs to recharge in less than GB's 1.848 seconds. Oh... yea, that ain't happenin. What about IS, RS, GB, GE?

Then we need IS to recharge in 1.32+1.848+1.848 = 5.016 seconds... needs 299% total recharge. That's very doable. And no need to take the fighting pool at all.

I think the choice to use IS over CP is very much a personal preference thing, and tied to what kind of build you're playing. Yes, IS does massive damage and looks kinda cool animating, but that cool animation time is nearly double that of CP, and the recharge is still difficult to reduce enough to where it fits smoothly in a ST rotation that's only 3 different abilities. And if you're on a team, you WILL see your targets melt while you're still in the air. Feels bad man =\.

 

That said, I don't have as much of an issue with it in a full tri-form build, where you leverage a larger variety of skills, and are less reliant on it to fill a chain. It can be a nice bonus attack to bust out on bosses and AVs, and melee attacks are good sources of IO bonuses, so the slots wouldn't be wasted even if it isn't used in every fight.

 

For a build that intends to play in human form at least 75% of the time, which also means that defensive toggles are taken and used, CP is the obvious winner. Assuming you want Weave, it's the same amount of power picks to take IS + whatever 2 + Weave than it is to take Boxing + Kick + Weave + CP. Tough is superfluous with Light Form, and we have our pick of other resist armor mules in our secondary. CP animates fast, feels crunchy, does solid damage, occasionally hits 2 targets, boosts your global recharge and acc a little and also takes a FF proc. It makes for a smooth and tight attack chain with Radiant and Gleaming. I'd never even consider IS in my human form build.

 

YMMV of course, but these sentiments are reflected by most of the players that post builds and discuss the AT often.

It's this and the -res proc it can take. I've tried IStrike procced out in a few chains, and it always just falls flat. It does do knockdown, though, which is a nice change from all the knockback everywhere else.

Great suggestions here.

With a PB as one of my mains, are you do miss out on not being Tri-Form

6 AoEs? (including cones) ...yes, please. 3 self heals .... yes please

 

I use the in-game keymapping(using the Numpad) and can smoothly and quickly transition thru forms in seconds.

 

I do have bi forms

Human/Nova for lower levels when Dwarf is not available yet

Human/Dwarf just for fun

 

I also take the heal other to support the buff/debuff members of the party when they are getting hammered.

 

If the issue is all the powers ... I have them in Trays 1-3

again key-mapped thru Numpad

Looks promising. Despite your warning, I will probably use this without modifying it in the slightest 😉  Are any of the attack powers just slot mules or do all the attacks get used - not necessarily in every fight but at least on a somewhat regular basis?
