It'll be more efficient to use Villian (or even Gold side) missions for some of the badges. I think the guide needs to be updated honestly, as some of the praetorian missions are MUCH faster then the H or V side options. 2 1
Elemento Posted July 7, 2021 Posted July 7, 2021 (edited) At the beginning of this thread, he mentions No Enhancements. Hpw is that possible unless you decide to throw away everything you have slotted? Also earlier Tuesday, I did a lvl 15 mission while debuffed but didn't get the Headstrong badge Edited July 7, 2021 by Elemento

When you select that, all your enhancements are temporarily turned off untill you either compplete the story arc or abort the Ouroboros "task force". Same with inspirations, it's greyed out until you're done. So you don't have to do anything, you're just "naturally" weakened. It can be something of a shock if you're used to you're 50 slotted with a bunch of sets.

On the lvl 15 mission, is it because it was a Praetorian mission which apparently doesn't count for the badge?

Often times the Villain Badge is different but when you switch back to Hero the Badge switches to what you were after.

They're the same for heroes, villains, and Praetorians: 10 badges for number of Flashback arcs run; up to 50 runs total. 3 badges for speed of completion; one for each setting. 4 badges for limited lives; one for each setting. 8 badges for completing a story arc with debuffed players; one for each level range. 8 badges for completing a story arc with buffed enemies; one for each level range. 8 badges for completing a story arc without travel powers; one for each level range. 8 badges for completing a Flashback arc without temp owers; one for each level range. 2 badges for completing a Flashback without epics (ancillaries or patron pools); one for each level range you can have epics. 8 badges for completing a story arc without inspirations; one for each level range. 8 badges for completing a story arc without enhancements; one for each level range. 1 badge for completing any Praetorian story arc. Maybe my math is off, but this doesn't seem to add up to 76. Are there more? I know there's Entrusted With the Secret and the accolade (Chronologist), but that still only gets my count to 70. Refight the Trojan War and stop Arachnos in the time-traveling "Dr. Aeon and the Wrath of Achilles," 5 missions full of heroic allies and smash/lethal EBs, AE#31899! Torchbearer Greek & Roman theme SG and coalition -- "Polias" -- always looking for new members!
tripthicket Posted August 25, 2021 Posted August 25, 2021 I can access Flashback missions within my SG base, via the Pillar of Ice and Flame. It even gives me the option to choose limitations. However, once I completed the mission, no badges were awarded at all. For badges, do I need to run these from the Pillar in Ouroboros?

tripthicket Posted August 25, 2021 Posted August 25, 2021 Sooo, is it a known bug (think I read that somewhere) that badges aren't being awarded appropriately for chosen limitations?

tripthicket Posted August 25, 2021 Posted August 25, 2021 I will try with different missions and report results (fingers crossed, and your success gives me hope).

Are you doing multi-mission arcs? The flashback system will offer to limitations on all story arcs, and claim that you've "completed" them on all arcs, but they will only be awarded for multi-mission arcs. "Arcs" that are just single missions for a badge will not award Ouroboros badges, even if the restrictions are in effect and you complete the mission successfully.
tripthicket Posted August 28, 2021 Posted August 28, 2021 @Zhym, thank you, that jibes with what I had now 'discovered.' A single-mission arc gave me the restrictions, but awarded no badges. When I did a 3-mission arc, all 4 badges that I should've gotten were awarded appropriately. And thanks @Glacier Peak for your help as well. Off to run myself blind doing flashbacks!
Zhym Posted November 26, 2021 Posted November 26, 2021 (edited) Anyone have thoughts on the best arcs to get the new Alpha Not Omega and Deincarnated badges? I tried my old standby, the "Burden of the Past" arc, and it didn't award the badge (perhaps because it doesn't award any merits?). ETA: Answering my own question, here are pretty good arcs on either side: Hero: I did "Future Threat"—it's three easy door missions, a quick hunt in PI, and a talk. The last mission is a defeat-all, but it doesn't take long as those go. It took me 24 minutes. Villain: "Escaped!" (mentioned in the OP) works really well. 5 merits, so it counts for the badge. Three missions, each requires only defeating the boss's group. It took me about 8 minutes, and it only took that long because I stopped to defeat some Crey Gamma Tanks along the way to make progress towards the Totally Radical badge. Note that "Eye of Judgment," also listed in the OP, won't work—it doesn't grant merits. Edited November 26, 2021 by Zhym

Four talks (should be five, but for some reason the Posi talk mission's missing), then one door mission. Gives seven merits so it gives a badge, and took me 8 minutes the time I timed it. Might be rough with no travel powers, but The Ouroboros Initiation should now also be level 50 and takes place entirely within the Ouroboros citadel. Errants Posted December 3, 2021 Posted December 3, 2021 (edited) Due to the current patching while looking at the rewards, they've unlocked the badges for all. This means that the personal mission at the VERY end of Mr G's arc (new Praetorian content, Redside - Lvl 50 24.14) would be the quickest, as it is literally ONLY dialogue. Can confirm it works to unlock the new badges, hadn't tried for older badges on an alt. Edited December 3, 2021 by Errants Death is the best debuff.
noldrek Posted December 28, 2021 Posted December 28, 2021 An alternative to The Ouroboros Initiation: Level 35-39Hero: Revenant Hero Project. 10 missions: click glowie; talk to contact; talk to contact; talk to contact; talk to contact; click glowie; defeat 20; talk to contact; 2 glowies; clear boss room. 27 merits

The only oddity I found is that the crystal can't teleport you to the contact, so you have to travel normally to the mission entrance (a portal) in Dark Astoria. It uses the same portal each time, so I kept entering an SG base via LRT / Base Teleporter / Monitor Duty to repeat the cycle.
Renergy Posted January 18, 2022 Posted January 18, 2022 "I Lost My Daddy! 5 missions: rescue NPC, escort NPC, ambush; talk to contact; defeat 10; find boss (beware mezzes); find NPC, escort NPC, ambush (beware mezzes)." Is now within the level 20-24 bracket, I've been running "The Mind of a King" instead for this bracket. Not as fast, as requires multiple travel and kill alls. Just a note for anyone not paying attention like myself who ran "The Skyraiders Secret" without reason! 😂 1
FarOut Posted January 20, 2022 Posted January 20, 2022 I don't know if this was changed in a patch or something, but I am definitely being awarded limitations badges on "arcs" that are only one mission. I just got the seven badges for the 20-24 bracket in under 15 minutes through the mission Recover the Chameleon Suit. There is a single mission, and you get a Chameleon Suit temp power upon entry that makes the freaks ignore you. You just speed to a glowie, click it, mish and arc over in 2 minutes. I have been doing the same in the previous brackets as well - just running single mission arcs and raking in badges.

Rimy Posted February 13, 2022 Posted February 13, 2022 Some faster alternatives for doing all of the additional badges (no enhancements etc): 1-9 The Loa Bone 6.09 (red side) kill 3 15-19 The Blood of Tyrants 18.31 no fighting, one mission 20-24 The Chameleon Suit 0.12 no fighting, one mission with glowy 50 The Center's Personal Story (Solo Mission) 24.09 no fighting, one mission talk to 2 2 2
HairyLou Posted June 26, 2022 Posted June 26, 2022 (edited) Has anyone done an updated version of "best of" list for this? This is how I've done it, but there's room for improvement. L1-14: Officer Wincott vs the Trolls : Probably better redside or Praetorian L15-19: Deadlock's personal story (won't work once they change things, but now it's great) L20-24: The Chameleon Suit (Use base power to get back, crystal in the base, out through the portal and you won't have to travel for round 2+. Guessing this won't work after the planned changes.) L25-29: A Madman's Council (while still very easy, there has to be a better one?) L30-34: Smoke and Mirrors (No travel, great, and with stealth it's very fast) L35-39: ??? Haven't done this yet. Not sure what to do really. L40-49: The Hydra Dimension (even nerfed you still kill everything on the 2 maps fast, but with the moved portal in Bricks there's some running involved) L50: The Center's personal story (won't work once they change things) I'm currently running through all blueside arcs, so I got the praetorian tourist anyway. Edited July 4, 2022 by HairyLou I did it my way... 1
katmorriss1 Posted July 24, 2022 Posted July 24, 2022 I found an easier arc for 10 - 14 15-19 & 20-24, the final chapters for Gold side work. I chose the Warden Arc for Imp City and Neutropolis as I had already done Wincott's arc but I got the 15-19 and 20-24 badges no issues and only take a few minutes to complete :D 1 1
