So, while scoping out the Crucible, because I honestly had no recollection of ever going in there during retail, it seemed fairly well laid out.
I've made, and often seen suggestions for an inf-sink, and I thought - why not a ready made base?

No idea how much should be charged, but I know there's a number of folks who have no idea how to construct a base. Most can generally figure out how to drop some storage bins and teleports, but I suspect there's a fair number of folks who either have no interest, or no desire to create a base, and might want to just slap down some influence/infamy/information and have a ready made base.

Of course, all sales final.

For example: for 1 Billion inf, you could create a passcode and have your own Crucible.
Once you take possession, you can edit the base to add teleports to various zones, an ouroboros pillar of ice/flame, and some storage bins.

Just a suggestion of what would be nice to have, not need to have.

I thought there were people advertising that they'd make a simple base for you for some in-game inf.  No need to destroy their business...  😉

Some of us will do it for free just so we can be making bases.

This; there are people who advertise doing this for about 40 million inf last I saw.  They aren't always on though.

Bases are pretty easy to make though and only take about 30 minutes, but I guess if people want to pay for a generic bare bones base, I wouldn't object.

I'm iffy about "pay for a base" (for something pre-created in game, at least. For players making them - something reasonable.)

I'm all for "here are some basic base layouts you can choose from to start," both furnished and not, so someone can just get up and running or learn about how these things are put together. Or just have their own house/apartment/cave/whatever.

Of course, if we did get premade layouts/bases, I'd think they'd have to be "select this only at SG creation" (or at the very least "if no room other than the entrance room exists,") just to avoid the "I overwrote my old base and now all my purples are gone!" petitions to GMs which would just make it a hassle.

But... yeah. Getting some premades for people who just want "something" that are simple - heck, even do a base building contest for it - and probably small, options for furnished (power, teleporters, storage, costume/nurse/difficulty/trainer NPCs - or items, for that matter, I'd love to have non-NPC options for those) or not (just the layout, you place stuff) would be great. From there people can leave it as is, start learning to expand/modify/build themselves, or go ahead and get someoene else to build something.

I don’t even think it would have to be furnished.

Something along the lines of a selection of generics would be nice - apartments, houses, caves, warehouse, bunker, etc.

Nothing too highly detailed.  That way the people who are paid infl to make bases aren’t being competed with,or find themselves not needed.

That's a good idea, and I would like to add to it, instead of those bases being the normal SG bases so there would be an actual advantage to get them over building one your self, make some mission maps aviable to be purchased for this system, you could Still add to it using the normal basebuilder

I'll be transparent, I never even thought about those folks. I imagine I'd be the best (Inf paid on time and in full) and the worst customer ever (doesn't know what he wants, but will know it when he sees it)

I have seen the work of some of those folks and they're fairly fancy. I appreciate you reminding me. I never want to step on anyone's hustle - unless it's my hustle first, then watch your toes, cuz I'm gonna stomp!

You say that now, but we can see right through you...

Then how do you know I'm even there?

I'm trying to recall the details of the conversation but @Dacy and I had a forum chat that migrated to discussion of a similar context a while back.  I believe Dacy made some comment about coding problems, but I don't want to ...ah wait...found it.

Well, this post isn't exactly about that, it was about saving items, even up to a whole base. Honestly? I think they could make premade bases or rooms available.  I'd very much LIKE for them to do this. I'd like to have an assortment of styles in a basic base, even a basic apartment base, which many people want. I'd even be willing to create the models. I see these as being available as choices in the editor; maybe they come complete with automated item count so you can't cheat and make the base editor hold more than it should hold, but I would think it's doable, from what I've been told by people with programming skills. Now, the team here has said that copying bases and re-inserting them on a different server is something not yet automated (and so, they do not offer it because it would tie up man hour resources), but as we can copy our characters and all of their various attachments to another server, it seems logical that we should be able to do so with bases, but the devs would need to want to put the time in to make that happen. With a volunteer team, the focus on what they spend their time on tends to mean that they will work on those things they themselves are most interested in and want to see, and unfortunately, as far as I know and as evidenced by the time spent on base development, none of the current devs seem to have much interest in bases, so I do not have a lot of hope that this idea will go anywhere. BUT. Sometimes they surprise us. 🙂
