For folks out there who enjoy collecting these little vanity pets, the Lord Recluse Mini-Pet is now available (for the rest of the month of November) to acquire from Luna for a cheap 2005 Reward Merits.

There's two other mini-pets that are locked to specific months of the year as well. The Statesman Mini-Pet is available only during the month of May for 2004 Reward Merits. The Tyrant Mini-Pet is available only during the month of August for 2010 Reward Merits. These months and reward merits are tied to the months and years of release for City of Heroes, City of Villains, and Going Rogue.

And relatedly, I've finally collected all of the vanity pets currently in-game! It's been a fun journey and an excellent side quest for me getting the rare drops before the Giant Monster mini-pets had better drop rates and collecting reward merits for the three locked to specific times of year mini-pets. The Kheldian Mini-Pets were probably my favorite (I ended up getting two from drops and I bought the other two off the Auction House). The Mini-Hero 1 pet was probably the most grindy, as it costs 10,000 Vanguard Merits to acquire. I look forward to seeing more vanity pets in the future. I'm still missing that Vanguard MDC, but I think that ends up being an accolade power?

How is everyone else who enjoys collecting these vanity pets doing? Anyone who enjoys collecting vanity pets excited about acquiring the P.E.A.C.E. Drone mini pet (Hint: it's already on the Auction House, just none for sell!).

I’ve now completed all vanity pets on my main and all but two costumes (need about 7k more vanguard merits…).

WOW! Nice work!

The Prestige costumes look like Mt. Everest compared to the mole hill that was Vanity pets to me at least. I've snagged a few just to get in to the hang of spending Prismatics, but it looks like I'll be after them for a good bit of time (good thing!).

I have to admit, I don't generally worry about adding specific pets.  On the other hand, my main/badger recently got the Pet:Mini Hero 1 so I may have to start working on merits so I can 'collect them all'!

I’ve never been clear on how to obtain the Vanguard MVAS mini pet?

Are you referring to the Combat Dummy?

No I likely got my names wrong.

The mini Vanguard mech suit pet.

I've got one (from before the proliferation of the GM mini-pets) but for the life of me I can't recall how I got it.

Yeah seemed to me it was auto-rewarded upon login for some special event, but I could just be mis-remembering this.  Not sure how to obtain it.  If I go to the AH mini pet recipes or the Vanguard terminals in RWZ, I can see a couple of different mini-pets, but not the mini mech suit one.

This is the guy I’m referencing….MVAS, so I guessed the name right.  Wiki says you got it in 2011 for a 7 year subscription, but I see no mention of how to obtain it now.  My mind often gets confused between what was happening on Live vs Homecoming at times, so perhaps its no longer available or if it is…how to obtain one escapes me.

**EDIT**

Another article says you obtain(ed) it via the Vanguard Pack reward, which was part of the Paragon Rewards program.

For a long time (on Homecoming) I'd add the MVAS to my cadre of Robotic Henchmen. It used to be one of the pets that was visible/selectable in the Pet Window, but that changed at the time of the most recent MM revamps and the proliferation of the mini-pets.

My vague memory is that I bought it, and it could have been with just about any currency: Vanguard Merits, Merits, whatever. Is it possible that the recipe doesn't show up in the Vanguard base until you have some minimum number of Vanguard merits? I want to say I went looking for it with some characters that have relatively few Vanguard Merits (under 500) and didn't see it.

OK, leaving my idiocy here for posterity.

You just get this from the P2W vendor.  It's odd that not all my characters have access to it however.  Some do, some do not.  Otherwise, it's 1MM inf and it can be yours.

I’d be more into minis if you could have them all out at the same time.

I'd be more into mini's if I could a) obtain unlimited Baby New Year's and b) assign them to others as non-resist-able pets.  Muhahahahaha.

Only if the BNY are put in Atlas Park and have massive -Resistance to Knockback.  I want to see 'em fly!

Oh, you kids!

I remember when getting the cat-on-your-shoulder was a big deal.

I also fondly remember the April Fool's day when the huge crowd of Baby New Years that were following you would end up dead in a pile behind you when you zoned.

"Take your Kid to Work Day" took on a whole new meaning.

Good times.

Particularly if Power Thrust got KB enhancements made immune to ED -- I fondly remember six-slotting Power Thrust for knockback and playing Hellion Golf in Atlas Park; a high-level character could get a Hellion almost all the way across the zone diagonally, especially with Power Boost (which boosted KB at the time).

OH!

You reminded me of another another April Fools Day when the devs announced they would be replacing all sound effects with text, like POW, BIFF, BAM, etc. They didn't, of course, but they gave Brawl the FREEM fx and all the knockback a power could take.

Atlas golf was never sweeter.

C'mon, Devs, gimme some FREEM!

2K merits for a pet that does nothing but make me look taller?

lol, y'all can have it. I don't know what in the world I'll use these merits for, but it sure won't be that.

Some of the mobs now have it.  I think it's a Mag 20 KB.

The Council guys with the big rocket launcher have it.  I was soloing Citadel yesterday on a corr with 4 pts of KNB resist.  When he got hit with that, he would go flying and the word 'FREEM' would appear in mid-air alongside the damage numbers.
