Played 4 years here and i recently went over to Excelsior from Everlasting server-- What am i missing?

The April fools event should be up at some point, you can get one to 50 quickly and when you do hit me up for a mids build. It's not cheap, but it's quite good. Also look at the kheld section of the forum. Laucianna has done an excellent guide to levelling and playing a PB and WS. I don't use the macro stuff, I can't get my head round it and find I'm awesome enough without it.

 

Edit: I'm assuming the April fools Mapserver event will be happening. I've heard nothing either way, but it's incredibly popular so in theory it's going ahead. Just because I'm a GM doesn't mean I always have the inside scoop 🙂

My 3rd level 50 on live was a Warshade. It was a ton of fun. It's like every Darkness character rolled into one.

Yep, ran into that one and never bother with them anymore no matter what I play.  I asked to join once while I was playing a controller and his response was "I don't need a controller, do you have a brute you can switch to and play?"  My response was a simple, "No".   This was for just normal missions, not farming or anything specifically hard.  

 

99% of the time I don't see people being restrictive really.

Do to our server being the most active. Bad habits have formed and stayed.

 

1. We a larger population of folks who want others to play the game for them as they sit AFK in a farm.

 

2. Farmers on X, know this and honestly don't wanna put up with lazy folks. (Not all, but many).

 

3. Farmers normally farm solo, farm their other account alts, or farm folks they know.

 

4. Farmers who ask for Hitters and/or buffers just want to burn through farms at a far faster rate. Thus you pile up the xp & more important to them the funds.

 

5. Some farmers get sick & tired of the constant begging to sit in their farms or tells they are hitters, but when they show up they are not a decked out 50 or even a 50 to begin with.  That's not a Hitter that's detriment are are basically XP Sponge not a help on 50 +4x8 Fire Farm(Or whatever farm they are doing).  So they get cranky, don't take it personal.

 

6. Again being a higher pop server, we also have higher odds of entitled turds who in turn expect things and will throw fits if they don't get what they want. As a normal PuG Team lead for missions, I've come across some serious wack jobs. With online buddies seeing it first and going, man you sure find the special ones.

 

As for PuGs, I'm always leading a PuG.  My Advert is same, never changes(other then the side). Example: BLUESIDE MISH TEAM, Lvl 50+ Lvl 1 & up welcome. Spot:

 

I'm not  farm, everyone works. Even if your lvl 1, get in there & do your best. Also, I prefer team play. I like us running as a team, so I tend to say, I'll start when all but two are in, please follow team lead.

 

Because of that last statement. I've gotten death threats, spewing hate, constant grief, etc.. It's like listen. It's my team, I ask one simple thing, in return we'll go blasting through the missions. I can solo anything in this game and have(Since Beta/Live). I enjoy team play & watching folks level.  But heaven forbid, you'd think I was threatening their loved ones when I put that statement in.  Again I have many online buds in game seen that go down, they are man...You really find the special ones. If you dislike it, just leave, I don't need your Adult Child Drama.

 

When your one more active PuG leads who take anyone, yah it happens. Reason I note & star rank nearly everyone. So I can keep track of who to invite and who not as I check notes on each tell asking to join.

I can't think of a single archetype I'd not team with, not even a power set, though some I consider currently inferior to others.  The only two types I don't like to team with are:

• characters whose players used far too "loud" a set of colors on their bubbles, auras, clouds, or whatever and it's blinding or at least reducing visibility. 
• Characters whose players have decided the team wants to watch all their targets be knocked back as often as possible, as far as possible, in every direction, and with no real thought put into aiming the shot nor how it affects the team.
• EDIT: I suppose I'll add a third and say players that like to fill team chat with the most uncomfortable and inappropriate things, but it's been quite a while since that last happened to on any team I've been on.

I actually like teaming with Kheldians because we get quantum gunners, even if said NPCs are only a shadow of their former strength.  While I suppose I could complain about MMs, especially running with a team of 8 of them on Mastermind nights (insanity) I'm having too much fun.

This; it is why I have played for 20-ish years and it is what keeps me here. For some unknown reason once I'd discovered P.U.G.s I was instantly addicted to CoH all of those years ago and I learned the game through that and, 20 years later I'm still learning.

 

The star system us great for identifying 'sore-players' and avoiding them. I have no problem with a leader forming a team to their own requirements, what irks me is being ignored for no reason whatsoever so upon that happening I g/ignore those who do that.

 

Apart from that the game and the player base keeps on improving under the custodianship of our mature player base.

Water, what you said reflects my feelings...been playing for 20+ years myself, and love it. (People with like-minds are the ones who made it possible for us to be here and I will always be grateful.)

I chose Excelsior in honor of Stan Lee when I created my account here, and it's a great server. I still think that CoH has the best community of any game hands down. Of course there will always be the 'unevolved' folks who play. They are everywhere, even within our own families. That being said, they stick out like sore thumbs because the most amount of players here are friendly, helpful and a lot of times generous inf. In my time on Excel, I have encountered 'those' kind of people so few times it's not worth mentioning.  The star rating is a great way to keep track, and BLOCK is your friend.

General Chat is mostly funny and informative, but if it goes off into an area I don't want to read, I switch to the tab that I created and named SILENCE...which is totally empty.

I refuse to let other people spoil my enjoyment of this game. I will most likely be found like this when my time on earth is over...😁

I keep getting invited to stuff on a level 2 Corr I have stopped experience on.  On Excelsior.  And the only one that complains I am level 2 is me….
