Couple thoughts...

 

Why skip Burn?

 

Why skip Suppressive Fire?  That does good damage on a Sentinel.

 

I personally don't see the reason to take Dual Wield other than it looks awesome.  Which if it's for that reason and you can fit it in, I'd say do so.

 

I'd give up Warmth myself.

 

Executioner's Shot is a level 18 grab imo.

 

You did slot up Healing Flames at all.  That's your self heal.

I took Dual Wield because its the defensive opportunity attack and I think I read that Executioner's outperforms Suppressive when ammunition is used, so chose it over Suppressive as the other single target attack.

Wanted weave early, though looking at it, does make sense to take it at 18 and push the fighting pool down.

I agree that healing flames is underslotted.  Though I figured between it, cauterizing and warmth healing would be pretty well covered.

Yeah, but you won't have any endurance to attack with. I do have assault and molten embrace on my elec/fire sent, and the damage boost is nice, but at low levels you just don't have all the endurance tricks in place yet to do that.

Not noticed this issue yet...but I have the P2W amplifier, and the DFB recovery buff, and the base endurance buff...and blue chews. 😋

 

If it dies faster, I can take a smoke break.

Hello everyone! I have a question for whom played this combo. Does /Fire requires softcap defenses for better survavility at end content? I remember /Fire has a OP healing with HF coming back fast all the time.

 

So my question comes down to this: is better to have a build aiming for softcap resist + ranged defense or a build aiming for softcap resist and all +recharge you can get?

 

In my experience with Scrappers they shine soloing end content when you reach softcap resist + defense. So i was wondering if this DP/Fire combo would work the same.

 

I´ll post two alternative builds later to get some advices. Thanks!

Have you tested this build yet? "Hasten barely needed, due to the FF procs" is a big claim. There are a number of very deceptive elements in how Mids reports effects that do not work in actual play: 

1) FF procs don't stack. You're going to get only 110% global recharge when the effect procs. Your uptime is going to be gated by the number of targets you can leverage. You're not going to exceed any builds that go for perma-Hasten with your current strategy. 
2) It looks like some of the slotting strategy is to go after +3 and 4% global damage buffs from various sets. Just know that global damage is only base damage and not your enhanced damage. 
3) Gaussian's in Tactics is worthwhile for the defense boost on builds that need just that little bit of extra defense. However, that Build-Up proc will very rarely proc when you play solo. If you are granting the Tactics buff to a full party of 8, then it will check the procs off team members each interval. This means it can have a better chance to go off in teams, but it is near worthless solo (proc rate is so small as to not provide much damage benefit for the slots). 
4) You could spare a slot in Molten Embrace and Assault by using a +5 IO instead of 2 individual IOs. 
5) The damage provided by Molten Embrace and Assault doesn't offset the higher base damage of Suppressive Fire and Executioner's Shot. Those two attacks are pushed off late in the build in order to boost weaker attack's base damage. I'd swap the order of the selection. You're better off with better attacks first, and then adding damage boosting elements later. 

Hopefully that helps get some perspective on some potential changes you could make.

I'm not pointing fingers, but I read somewhere that it's been found that the people who wanted help with coding found more success with posting wrong code than with simply asking nicely. Many people can't resist the urge to correct wrong things. 

 

Luckily I'm aware of this or I'd actually consider firing up Mids.

This is the build I've been running. I chose to go for more resistance rather than defense, skipped hasten, and went for presence mainly for theme (he's a demon type character). But invoke panic is actually a pretty noticeable crowd control option that helps quite a bit. And provoke is nice for keeping enemies in the burn.
