Chalkarts Posted Friday at 08:30 PM Posted Friday at 08:30 PM I'm thinking of putting one together but can't decide on a secondary. Who here as played a Psi, what are it's pros and cons, and what does it pair well with? I like the idea of it, but need a solid pairing.
PyroNugget Posted Friday at 09:33 PM Posted Friday at 09:33 PM Psi is somewhat generic in that it can pair with anything --the insight mechanic is clunky and the only other reason you don't see alot of PSI melee is that when its resisted, its HIGHLY resisted by enemies. so maybe an armor with a different dmg aura like ICE or BIO? i have a 50 shield/psi tank with the energy graphic shield to match the weapon graphic, works great/looks great!...but can get slowed/bogged down when i'm heavily resisted. 1
evetsleep Posted Saturday at 01:25 AM Posted Saturday at 01:25 AM My hot take is psi/stone. Stone brings so much to the table and when it comes to Psi being resisted you have fire proc from brimstone to help soften the blow. At least that how I look at it with mine. Yes, it's clunky, but that's kinda what I did about it.

Are you looking for a secondary that will simply sustain you through varied content, or are you going for a specific type of enemy group or foe? Defense, resistance, or you don't care about the type of protection your secondary provides?
Octogoat Posted Saturday at 03:09 PM Posted Saturday at 03:09 PM My hero Moonstone uses psi melee/stone with crystal armor. It's pretty and strong.
Uun Posted Saturday at 04:26 PM Posted Saturday at 04:26 PM Psi Melee isn't as heavily resisted as Psi Blast, as none of its attacks are 100% psi damage. All its attacks except Mass Levitate are 75% psi and 25% smashing or lethal. Mass Levitate is 100% smashing. Uuniverse
Yomo Kimyata Posted Saturday at 07:23 PM Posted Saturday at 07:23 PM I don't love the set, but it serves the purpose. What defines the set for me is Psi Blade, Concentration (build Up), Greater Psi Blade, Mass Levitation. I don't love Insight, since minmaxing that mechanic might shave a few seconds off a pylon time, but otherwise things die quickly enough. I have found that Mass Levitation changes my gameplay so dramatically that everything revolves around it after a certain point. Boggle is a bit of a trick, but really not very useful. Foe -recharge can be useful, but when things die quickly at +4/x8 it's pretty much irrelevant. If I make another alt (and let me be honest with myself, I probably will), I'd look at regeneration as a secondary. With mass levitation knocking everyone up every 5-10 seconds, I'd expect to have close to a full green bar constantly. 1 Who run Bartertown?
Psyonico Posted Saturday at 08:36 PM Posted Saturday at 08:36 PM I want to like Psy melee, and with Psi armor coming out it is a natural pairing. I personally find the animations a little to sharp for my liking though, so I’m planning on pairing psi armor with energy melee What this team needs is more Defenders

I'll always go with character conception over mini-maxing. Psionic Armor is on the test server, so won't be long for that. If someone posts a reply quoting me and I don't reply, they may be on ignore. (It seems I'm involved with so much at this point that I may not be able to easily retrieve access to all the notifications) Some players know that I have them on ignore and are likely to make posts knowing that is the case. But the fact that I have them on ignore won't stop some of them from bullying and harassing people, because some of them love to do it. There is a group that have banded together to target forum posters they don't like. They think that this behavior is acceptable. Ignore (in the forums) and /ignore (in-game) are tools to improve your gaming experience. Don't feel bad about using them.
