10 mil is way overpriced, imo, for something that could just be free of charge nowadays.

Description

This power will summon one of 4 powerful allies to aid you in combat. When summoned, your signature ally will be an Elite Boss and last for 4 minutes.

How to Get

Available from P2W Vendor for 10,000,000 Inf for 5 charges. You may purchase up to 99 charges.

Considering how powerful the signature summons are (just look at some old pylon tests lol :classic_wacko:), by absolutely no means should they be free.  Homecoming already gives away too much and streamlines too much.

maybe just make us a customizable companion from AE then... My thing is that soloing can be really fun and relaxing but not all builds perform at the same efficiency level and all in doing such things- with our current bountiful Homecoming world, I think I should be able to. Thanks for weighing in, everyone!

One person soloing with a free sig summon is no big deal but if they were free EVERYONE would be running with a sig summon out. Teams would consist of 8 players and 8 sig summons. This would destroy any semblance of balance we currently have and make all team content trivial. For those reasons I can't get on board with free sig summons.

Amps, base buffs and the freebee damage procs (from START) can go a long way to making lower damage ATs more palatable to solo. Blackwand, Nem Staff, Sands of Mu and Envenomed Daggers are also a pretty great attack powers that allow you to have a nearly full rotation of decent damage powers on any AT*.

*at lower levels at least, by 20ish your main powers will probably replace those

I agree- perhaps it would be better to leave the signature summons alone and find another way for me to have fun soloing... but still, i find 10 mil to be a lot.

Anyway- just to highlight the value of adding such a thing like a companion from AE that is customizable(might seem extravagant) ...

as someone who enjoys support- I already know I could do +4/8x if only I had a tank type or really any other entity about as strong as meself.

and that about sums up all that i'm trying to say- if we could have something like that, then soloing would become so much more doable... and companions could be restricted to solo play, for ease.. or available on teams/leagues, that would be up to the pros as it would require a bunch of specification

I'm a big Controller Stan myself, while this won't address all the points you mentioned, consider playing the new Pyrotechnic set if you haven't yet. It has a power called Glittering Column (lvl 6) that is basically a short duration tank that explodes when it's done. It doesn't last too long but it lasts long enough to get a spawn under control with your other powers.

Beyond that, I get where you're coming from and perhaps something could be made that was some sort of temp power that was only available while solo as you mentioned.

It is, and maybe that needs to be looked at. Either a smaller cost or a longer duration.

There's the Backup Radio too.  Yeah, it's not a Sig Summons level NPC but it's still back up!

As for the Summons NPCs themselves?  I'd like to see a wider variety of them rather than the huddled few we have. And no, I've no issue with the cost.

Probably not feasible, but how cool would it be if you could purchase the ability to summon one of your own alts? Kinda like dual-boxing, but the computer would handle the other guy for you.

For a zero-influence option, there's always the Shivan Shard available in Bloody Bay.  My Mind Controller picks one up on a regular basis, so even low DPS builds can totally nab them. You just have to weaken-but-not-kill the firebase turrets, and then when they're all low, you zip around popping each one in rapid fire.

Technically you're at risk for being pvp ganked when you go to Bloody Bay, but on both Excelsior and Everlasting I've never been attacked in Bloody Bay. Not ONCE in years.

And they're the BIGGER shards.

On the PvP shards, the only time I had issues was on Excel, and it was very rare.

10m is a bit much, I don't bother because that seems to be my threshold for overpriced items, but I could easily.  I probably still wouldn't use them much if they were cheaper, but that's just me.

I like the idea of more variety.

I'd pay 10 mil for the AE customizable "summon a buddy" power mentioned above.  That's a damn fine idea.  Bonus points if i can use commands to make it talk or do emotes and stuff.  Checks my roleplayer box.

Except for some characters, for which you can get some amusement from them — I have a Rad/Dark tank who, when she got the Sands of Mu temp power from a mission, was able to make a full rotation from Shadow Maul, the START Sands of Mu, and the temp Sands of Mu. Almost made me want to get Flurry just to round out the set.
