Spectress Posted August 11 Posted August 11 (edited) 10 mil is way overpriced, imo, for something that could just be free of charge nowadays. Description This power will summon one of 4 powerful allies to aid you in combat. When summoned, your signature ally will be an Elite Boss and last for 4 minutes. How to Get Available from P2W Vendor for 10,000,000 Inf for 5 charges. You may purchase up to 99 charges. Edited August 11 by Spectress 6
Lunar Ronin Posted August 11 Posted August 11 Considering how powerful the signature summons are (just look at some old pylon tests lol ), by absolutely no means should they be free. Homecoming already gives away too much and streamlines too much. 3 3 1
Spectress Posted August 11 Author Posted August 11 maybe just make us a customizable companion from AE then... My thing is that soloing can be really fun and relaxing but not all builds perform at the same efficiency level and all in doing such things- with our current bountiful Homecoming world, I think I should be able to. Thanks for weighing in, everyone!
mistagoat Posted August 11 Posted August 11 (edited) One person soloing with a free sig summon is no big deal but if they were free EVERYONE would be running with a sig summon out. Teams would consist of 8 players and 8 sig summons. This would destroy any semblance of balance we currently have and make all team content trivial. For those reasons I can't get on board with free sig summons. Amps, base buffs and the freebee damage procs (from START) can go a long way to making lower damage ATs more palatable to solo. Blackwand, Nem Staff, Sands of Mu and Envenomed Daggers are also a pretty great attack powers that allow you to have a nearly full rotation of decent damage powers on any AT*. *at lower levels at least, by 20ish your main powers will probably replace those Edited August 11 by mistagoat 3 SPOON!

I agree- perhaps it would be better to leave the signature summons alone and find another way for me to have fun soloing... but still, i find 10 mil to be a lot. Anyway- just to highlight the value of adding such a thing like a companion from AE that is customizable(might seem extravagant) ... as someone who enjoys support- I already know I could do +4/8x if only I had a tank type or really any other entity about as strong as meself. and that about sums up all that i'm trying to say- if we could have something like that, then soloing would become so much more doable... and companions could be restricted to solo play, for ease.. or available on teams/leagues, that would be up to the pros as it would require a bunch of specification Edited August 11 by Spectress 1

It has a power called Glittering Column (lvl 6) that is basically a short duration tank that explodes when it's done. It doesn't last too long but it lasts long enough to get a spawn under control with your other powers. Beyond that, I get where you're coming from and perhaps something could be made that was some sort of temp power that was only available while solo as you mentioned. 1 SPOON!

Darmian Posted August 11 Posted August 11 There's the Backup Radio too. Yeah, it's not a Sig Summons level NPC but it's still back up! As for the Summons NPCs themselves? I'd like to see a wider variety of them rather than the huddled few we have. And no, I've no issue with the cost. 2 2 AE SFMA Arcs: The Meteors (Arc id 42079) | Dark Deeds in Galaxy City: Part One. JKCarrier Posted August 11 Posted August 11 Probably not feasible, but how cool would it be if you could purchase the ability to summon one of your own alts? MTeague Posted August 11 Posted August 11 For a zero-influence option, there's always the Shivan Shard available in Bloody Bay. My Mind Controller picks one up on a regular basis, so even low DPS builds can totally nab them. You just have to weaken-but-not-kill the firebase turrets, and then when they're all low, you zip around popping each one in rapid fire. Technically you're at risk for being pvp ganked when you go to Bloody Bay, but on both Excelsior and Everlasting I've never been attacked in Bloody Bay. Not ONCE in years. 2 2 1 .

lemming Posted August 11 Posted August 11 On the PvP shards, the only time I had issues was on Excel, and it was very rare. 10m is a bit much, I don't bother because that seems to be my threshold for overpriced items, but I could easily. I probably still wouldn't use them much if they were cheaper, but that's just me. I like the idea of more variety. 1 1
Lunar Ronin Posted August 11 Posted August 11 If you want a solo-friendly support character, try a Mastermind.
Aracknight Posted August 11 Posted August 11 (edited) I'd pay 10 mil for the AE customizable "summon a buddy" power mentioned above. That's a damn fine idea. Bonus points if i can use commands to make it talk or do emotes and stuff. Checks my roleplayer box. Edited August 11 by Aracknight 1

Almost made me want to get Flurry just to round out the set. 2

LightMaster Posted August 12 Posted August 12 6 hours ago, ZeeHero said: Does it still summon Statesman? that'd be funny, necromancy even LOL Given the “echo” visual effect on the summoned signatures, I can assume it is his spirit coming back from the afterlife to help out, if temporarily, and ends up pulling back to the afterlife. Or an alternative universe Statesman that is still alive and can only help for a while before forcefully returning to his own world. Also I noticed that he and Lord Recluse are the Tank Signatures but deals the most damage in AoE and ST respectively, more than the Melee Signatures. I can underatand Statesman to reflect Tankers’ specialization on AoE nowadays, but Lord Recluse having the tankiness on top of summoning a loyal minion akin to a Mastermind is hilariously overpowered, at least in ST department.

Spectress Posted Monday at 06:28 AM Author Posted Monday at 06:28 AM (edited) So as post author I get to sum up all the fantastic things I've learned in my post, I feel. I am really happy about the outcome of the post as many people have replied/commented and it's cool! Thanks. And I get to mention the AE companion 1 more time without starting a whole new post about it. Most seem to think the sig summons are fine- however the AE companion would make them much more reasonable the way that they are(at 10mil) from my view by giving us something else(better) awesome to enjoy our solo adventures or fill that hole in the party- while also making use of the already wondrous AE system.- but making them only available when solo would also be fine if that's possible yk? I always spend my millions on my alts, so I never have extra anything. I sell all of my prismatic aether at this point even. We don't need a whole team to each player like in GW1- imo.. just 1 would do per player. "AE Sidekick" "AE Data Collector" something like that My best! Edited Monday at 06:36 AM by Spectress 1
