So, the game provides a warning when I'm about to use an enhancement unslotter or an enhancement catalyst (at least the first time, until I disable it).

Additionally, it prevents the inadvertent vendoring of purple and PVP enhancements/recipes by completely removing the ability to do so.

What it doesn't warn or protect against is accidentally replacing and destroying an already-slotted purple/PVP enhancement.

Which is what happened to me yesterday.

I had a certain power slotted with Obliteration (an orange set), except with Armageddon (purple) in the first and sixth slots. I crafted a new Armageddon enhancement. As I assume many players do, I like to slot my enhancement sets in the "correct" order (that is, the order they're listed in the set description). So the new Armageddon I had just crafted would fit into the third slot. But I mistakenly unslotted the Obliteration enhancement that was in the second slot (wanted to save the Obliteration piece to sell on the AH). Realizing my mistake, I moved to put the Obliteration enhancement back into its slot, but overshot and dropped it onto the first slot.

*POOF* Armageddon enhancement gone forever, just like that.

I admit that this was mostly carelessness on my part. But it's carelessness that could happen to anybody, with a simple slip of the hand while dragging an enhancement. But it's exactly the same kind of carelessness that the other warnings protect against. The lack of a warning against a far more expensive mistake really seems like an oversight.

A warning like:

WARNING: You are about to destroy a Very Rare enhancement! Are you sure? (Y/N)

Wow. I never thought of that, but I Frankslot everything on practically every character.

Is there an option to shut off the warning for slotting enhancements on top of other enhancements that you turned off?

or are you just trying to get another warning system added just for purples? or saying that the warning for normal enhances isn't working for purples?

If someone posts a reply quoting me and I don't reply, they may be on ignore.

(It seems I'm involved with so much at this point that I may not be able to easily retrieve access to all the notifications)

Some players know that I have them on ignore and are likely to make posts knowing that is the case.

But the fact that I have them on ignore won't stop some of them from bullying and harassing people, because some of them love to do it. There is a group that have banded together to target forum posters they don't like. They think that this behavior is acceptable.

Ignore (in the forums) and /ignore (in-game) are tools to improve your gaming experience. Don't feel bad about using them.

There's already an "Replacing this enhancement will destroy the original" prompt that you've just already turned off.

D'OH! Maybe I need to turn that back on once I get to 50! I guess what happened to me is that, after creating a massive number of alts, I've spent the last couple years focusing on actually getting my existing alts to 50 instead of leveling new ones, with the side effect being that it's been a very long time since I last saw that particular warning pop up (I mean, I'm leveling to 50 alts that I rolled all the way back in 2019), so I completely forgot that it existed.

But, mainly, I was thinking of a warning that was specific to these high-value enhancements.

This blows my mind and I want a poll to find out how common an occurrence this practice is.

I'm pretty anal retentive, but this is a whole new level.

I do this, like that is going to surprise anyone. Though I follow Mids' order when the game's list and Mids differ. However, I slot as I go, so I haven't experienced what @RikOz did. If I'm going to replace enhancements like the OP did? I use a respec to make sure I don't destroy anything I may want to keep.

(Edit: If it helps you understand why some people would do this? It helps me keep track of what I am still missing at a glance. Power A has slots 1-3 filled, but not 4? I can just look at Mids for slot 4 and know what I am still missing.)

As for the OP itself? I guess I don't really care if it gets implemented, but I do have to ask:

At what point will game hand-holding be considered excessive? The game already has the warning about slotting enhancements over previous enhancements, so when should we expect players to take accountability for themselves and go "yep, that was on me, whoops" instead of asking the game to to disallow it or give us yet another reminder that will get turned off?

Edited to remove "going".

I do this almost always, though on occasion, I'll screw up the ordering and let it go.  (However, with how many unslotters I have from opening superpacks, it gets fixed at some point)

Heh. Even when I'm still using SOs, I slot those in the same specific order every time. Like, for attacks: ACC, DAM, RECH, END in the first four slots, then the last two slots either get slotted for any "special" effects the attacks have, or more ACC/DAM if there are no special effects.

I get extremely irritated at my job when coworkers don't put things away in the same place they got them. I work with food, and putting stuff in the wrong place frequently leads to waste, or at the very least having multiple containers of the same thing taking up space.

A few years back, I asked a question online about why, every time they release a new version of their operating systems, do Microsoft and Apple hype up the Search features over and above everything else. That's when I learned that there are tons of people who save things and have no idea where they went. That blew my mind.

This more or less, given how expensive purples are.

Closest I come to that is putting

2 acc first in everything that doesn't have super high acc off the bat

an end redux first in any power that uses a lot of end that doesn't need the accs slotted

an end reduc in powers that have the 2 accs and have a base end cost of 10 or more

All the rest of the slotting is how it works out as leveling up.

As a disclaimer, I'm slotting as I level. No power-leveling and/or door sitting to level 50 for me. Plus I have /respec'd less than 5 times on Homecoming.

It is, by far, the primary reason I use unslotters at all

I use SOs until the 20s/30s, but I slot them by need as I add slots organically.  It *usually* goes A/D/R/D/D and then to sets, but sometimes E or another R gets in there,
