Lunchmoney Posted July 13, 2019 Posted July 13, 2019 What's wrong with this? I used to play under the handle @Purple Clown, back on Live. Now I play under @Lunchmoney I'm in the UK and play on Reunion.
PaxArcana Posted July 13, 2019 Posted July 13, 2019 Nothing's wrong with it. Most of the ones for sale are probably set to prices of, well, 20M and 25M. Whereas, thise nine hundred plus bids, are all for significantly less than that. So, someone comes along, doesn't pay close attention, and sells theirs for "1" figuring they'll get the 20M+ anyway .... and OOPS, the highest bid that was also equal to or over the asking price, was .... 314 Inf. Mr. Vee Posted July 13, 2019 Posted July 13, 2019 i'm guessing that's one of the buggy ones. no way more than one person is paying that much for a recipe you can get for 50 merits or the crafted for way less.
HelenCarnate Posted July 13, 2019 Posted July 13, 2019 Display error. I've had bids for things that are 25 mill normally and I just throw up whatever amount I have and go farm some more. I come back and see some say they were sold for hundreds when I had a bid in for several million but did not win the bid.

Other way around - 18 bids, 946 for sale. Pretty sure "display error" is the correct answer.
MunkiLord Posted July 13, 2019 Posted July 13, 2019 It's definitely a display error. There is one recipe I constantly buy that shows it sells for 20-25 million consistently, but I pick it up for less than 500k. The Trevor Project

And 946 that are selling for huge prices. ... you list one for "1", and one of the low-ball bids snaps your item up, netting you only 314. Still nothing wrong at all. Global Handle: @PaxArcana ... blayzemaster Posted July 13, 2019 Posted July 13, 2019 Some people bidded the wrong amount and people are now trying to capitalise thinking that's what it's worth

Still nothing wrong at all. That would only be true if 314 was the “highest” bid. Highest Bid is always awarded to the lowest offer. So the other 18 people bidding would ALL have to be bidding lower or equal to 314. So that’s technically possible in this case, it seems exceptionally unlikely (like at the level that I would stop posting and win the lottery). Given how unlikely that is, it seems like something is wrong. For context, there have been numerous posts about the AH interface showing conflicting information for the same item: Bug Report - includes listing outlier SOs going for millions Miracle price inconsistency Assassin's Mark vs Xenon Exposure Trap of the Hunter It's possible that this instance was working as intended, but it's more likely a display bug caused the buyer / seller to misjudge what the actual price of the given item was.
Primantis Posted July 14, 2019 Posted July 14, 2019 I believe its a display error and the AH is fetching data that is old. If you keep clicking it to refresh the price you'll notice it will change around. I notice this a lot on some of the more commonly traded recipes like LotG. Sometimes it will come up with a list of 15-20millions (what they used to go for near launch), then you click it a few time and it 'resets' to its modern day price. It's always been a little buggy, even on the first week or two of launch. It would constantly display "No Data" then you click it a few times and it would pop up with a list of recent sales. I think it's either a hitch with the private server; or the way they bunch together all the recipes/IO so they can level-sync to the buyer causes some overload bug to happen.
Primantis Posted July 14, 2019 Posted July 14, 2019 It's all a Nemesis plot... obviously. Why that sneaky little..
