Cyclone Jack
@Etched Yeah, I noticed that as well yesterday. There is an object there when I edit the base, but it seems to disappear when I quit the editor, and since I don't go up there very often I never really noticed it. I'll play with it some more today and see if I can get it to cover up properly. As for the ceiling, I had to open the roof to build upwards. I'll look into the collision walls (didn't know those were a thing). Thanks!
Etched
@Cyclone Jack , you can find the Collision Walls in the Editor Helper, the very first category within the item list. You will have to turn it on its axis so it is horizontal. @Etched

I also fixed the wall clipping issue; turns out that wall just doesn't show up when editing. 🙂 Thanks! I've been procrastinating on my Shadow Shard base, I just wish I didn't need a flat layer of rooms right in the middle. 😭 When the servers were first released I has spun up a server that didn't require the rooms above/below and I could have a single, small Entrance room, then build freely in that giant expanse. I'll have to get creative with the room layout and see what I can come up with. 😄
Retired Community Rep Dacy Posted February 15 Retired Community Rep Share Posted February 15 @Cyclone Jack, welcome to building! I very much admire the work you put into your base, and I fully support your inclination to hide and disguise things while offering clues as to what you can find where. I like to do that as well. I'd also love to show you how to manipulate NPCs, other than lifting up from the floor, or placing a building scaffolding where you wish to place them (surface tile), or attaching them by surface attachment: I encourage you to join the base building channel in game, and come to Discord. HC has a Discord, and there's a base building Discord with lots of friendly people, inspiration, and help. https://discord.gg/YmnmgjUuam Thank you for building another wonderful and useful base, and welcome to the City! -Dacy 1 -Dacy Retired CR Active Base Advocate My base building tutorials are always available for you! stealthnight
The latest SG base built, TEAM WEB on Everlasting. Base code: WEB-26787. The super group is an Inception themed base meant to confuse anyone who attempts to raid the base. So, in keeping with the idea, I have corrected the orientation of the pictures below, see and you can tell which ones are really at a 90'degree angle and which ones are at a 180'degree angle. (answers at the bottom) Good luck. (1) Upon enter the base, this is the view you are greeted with. (2) An upscale loft apartment building, nestled in the heart of the city. (3) The historical Museum is the cultural center of this city's rich linage. (4) The dock sits at the edge of the city park along the edge of the riverfront. (5) 83Mart is the one stop, shop and go convenience store, it's always open. (6) We-Be-Bed Motel offers a comfortable bed, luke-warm shower and an added bonus of free cable. (7) Business district at the center of the city houses the amenities every SG base needs. (8) The riverfront is sandwiched between the industrial areas of the city, as most of these factories make use of it for power or transportation. (9) The TEAM WEB base as seen from a distant camera shot. (10) Finally, the base as seen from the outside of the general area. So, the answers to the test: (1) 0' (2) 90' (3) 180' (4) 180' (5) 180' (6) 180' (7) 180' (8) 90' (9) 0' (10) 0' 7

TheSpiritFox
Huge shoutout to Basebuilder Bill. I tossed him 500 mil to take my dingy box and make it into something pretty. Then I experimented. I found out how to fill it with water Bill! The lair of the Disciples of Kurama is almost complete. Now to figure out why I cant place letters on the invisible backstop.
Psyphon
Okay, I've been plugging away lately, to finish up some areas that I started a couple years ago ... then I just reworked everything I already had. The base is still a work in progress, and I'm only posting areas that are (or are close to) completion. If you want to pop over to look around properly, feel free. The base code is GOF-2712 on Indominable This is what the entrance looks like when you enter If you head toward the tree (that's where the base hospital is), the path splits and there are red-side porters to the left This is the blue side of the 2 (but they're designed the same) And then around to the left (behind the hospital), are the red-blue joint areas This is the view looking back at the entrance from the tree. There are vendors all throughout the base, but I've concentrated a LOT of them here, for ease of use. The vendor wall These 2 shots are part of a winding hallway that leads to the grand library Edited March 18 by Psyphon 1
Psyphon
Still rolling. Hope I'm not overloading you guys. Here comes more of that winding hallway. So this is the grand library coming up The library is kinda big, So I'm just gonna post a bunch of them, from different angles and locations in the library. 2
Psyphon
Okay, we're in the home stretch. This'll be the last post. So this area is what I've been working on most recently. It's a tech room for my primarily arcane base .. it's part of a much bigger plan, but I'll post photos of that, once I get into it a bit further. So there's the entrance This is the mechanical/bot half of the workshop/room. Complete with a small bots area, a big bots area, and a wall of helper bots (and a nice scrap heap of decommissioned bots) And yes I'm building Optimus Prime And this is going to be a bio-organic research area ... but I'm still working on this part of the room So there we go guys. That's what I got .... Edited March 18 by Psyphon 2 1

Trike
Just curious - is it possible to make a base that’s a globe/sphere/ball with all the stuff stuck to the outside of it? Like this: Edit: or if round isn’t possible, maybe a cube like Bizarro Earth, or perhaps a flat plane where both the top and bottom have items on them. The map we're given is a flat plain. ..It only takes one Beanbag fan saying that they JRANGER it for the devs to revert it.

Absolutely, or you wouldn't be able to see things that look like that. 🙂 First, get comfortable with the ways to manipulate items: And then, realize you can build outside the bounds of the base, or like, in the case of my space ship, build in, around, and on top of the rooms. Items MUST be "in" a room (point you grab the item can't go outside the walls of a room unless it's into a doorway), but "in" goes completely up and down from the boundaries of a room. So, once you know how to get things to where you want them, you can let your imagination and creativity take over. 🙂 Oh, and, players can go anywhere in a base, if the ceiling/sky is open, well past the base bounds. Trike
1 hour ago, ZacKing said: I've been working on this for a while and finally getting to a point where it's nearly finished. I was going for a Mount Olympus style theme that fits the style of the SG. Still in progress, but far enough along to share some pics of the progress. I think it's turning out great, despite the editor being so frustrating. Here is Mount Olympus - home of the gods and sanctum of the Masters of Olympus on Excelsior. Here's the entrance. It's meant to be Zeus summoning you on a bolt of lighting. Once you've materialized, you'll have to make your way across the mystical light bridge to enter Mount Olympus. Here at the fisherman's wharf, you can catch a ride on a sailboat to far off destinations. At the top of the steps is the Temple of Zeus Should an Olympian fall in battle, they'll arrive at the shrine of healing where they'll receive blessings to aid them a speedy recovery. You can walk among the other gods of Olympus and enjoy a stroll through the gardens And what would a Roman themed base be without a roman bath? Here are a few views from on high I'm still working on the last part - the town square which is an open market where the outdoor blacksmith and other shops will be where the base workshop and storage are craftily hidden. I'll post more pics once it's all wrapped up. I wanted to give a special shout out and HUGE thank you to @ShardWarrior for helping me out on this build with ideas, tips for making the editor actually work, and for some amazingly ingenious and creative ways to hide storage items and NPCs. I've always been a huge fan of the various community bases Shard has built. They've been inspiration for me to start building. Thank you! Wow! Amazing. Not just in design, but how you've thought out the rationale for the various bits. 1

Daniel_R
Hi everyone. Big fan of the work you've been putting into your bases- thought I'd contribute to this thread with what I've been working on for my personal SG, the Justice Union. I've been aiming for an Avengers Mansion-style feel - let me know what you think. Come see for yourself at JUSTICE-18641. Located on a remote island off the Atlantic coast and accessible only by secure teleporter, the Union Mansion boasts a tranquil, yet balmy climate. The base boasts a full set of Supergroup amenities, including full access to the Paragon City Teleport Network, medical facilities, workshops, secure storage, costume maintenance and recreational facilities for the busy superpowered individual. Alongside state of the art technical support and infrastructure, the Union Mansion also sports a comprehensive suite of resources for the more occult-minded superhuman, including access to Orenbegan portals, pillars of ice and fire, and a Midnighter library with in-house translators for obscure mystical dialects. Dormitories and function rooms for visiting dignitaries, transient extra-dimensional visitors and homeless superheroes are available, alongside a small, but dedicated in-house staff. Visitors are welcome. Come see for yourself at JUSTICE-18641. Edited April 17 by Daniel_R 4

stealthnight
The latest SG base built, Del Luce Dynamics on Everlasting. Base code: DELLUCE-23385. The SG is a Praetorian tech company working on primarily shielding and robotics, with some weaponry and cybernetics projects. The company is located on a small island between Skyway City and Steel Canyon. The environment theme is Cyberpunk/ Shadowrun, so the base can be set to light up at night. Every building on this base can be entered and is furnished for maximum Roleplaying. Nighttime in Del Luce Dynamics. The company's Research and developing building sits in the center and towers over the rest of the city. Small streets have many local businesses, vendors, pawn shops and the residential living area in the distance. Some shady if not questionable groups have also set up shop in the area. Spyder Byte Tech (Arachnos) and Crey Labs. The Dough Joe is a mandatory stop for the early workers, because tech runs on donuts and coffee. The city bank is sandwiched between the jail and hospital. So in case anything bad happens help is nearby. The seedy part of city also has an adult club and tattoo shop. There has been activity at the condemned Waste Management facility, wonder what's going on in there. On the safer side of the city the furniture store and travel agency are there for the island's residents. A sneak peek inside the highly secure Del Luce Dynamics' building. Once again thanks for check out the bases I work on, always fun to build something new and different.
