  1. Just tested on my Win10 x86 Machine: (Atom 1.33Mhz, 1Gb RAM, Flash storage) Average US server load is roughly 1550, EU ~400 Server->Character List US Servers: ~2-7s / Ranging from 0-40+ alts each EU Server: ~2s / 0 alts Holy difference batman! Besides the basic specs, the only difference is that the character file doesn't include the spacing I've done on my normal machine (some pages have character gaps), but this has been going on longer than I've been organizing the alt list.
  2. You're general troubleshooting and procedures are exemplary, but I'm pretty sure Kat and my machines are both running optimally.
  3. Just tested on my Win7 x64 Machine: (3770k @ 3.5Ghz, 32Gb RAM, Samsung Evo 860 SSD / OS, Apps only) Average US server load is roughly 1550, EU ~400 Server->Character List US Servers: ~60s / Ranging from 0-40+ alts each EU Server: ~17s / 0 alts Game->Character List Torch: ~60s
  4. This, I'm using the Exact same hardware with roughly the same filepaths and ever since (I think) the introduction of the Que system it has taken ages to get onto a new alt. I could probably /afk-Bio and it'd be about as long to load. I'll have to check my Win10 Atom machine to test, but I'm pretty sure it has something to do with how the que is setup as the message you get when clicking "go back to shard" arrow triggers "do you want to leave the que?" message.
  5. Should've asked someone for an i3 style TP (to the moon!). ;) :p
  6. I don't have the link off-hand but there's a whole thread on setting up Vidiots that includes the Mac setup.
  7. This is what I was going to point out and take one step farther. TBH I wouldn't mess with the playerslot file in terms of permissions because you'd have to unlock it every time you add/remove an alt. You're more likely to cause game issues that way. Yes, you can drag/drop and it's pretty quick. The trick with that is that the game sometimes scrolls too quickly, so it takes practice. Now that we get a billion slots (10 per page) it's possible to sort/group your alts if they're themed in some way. I haven't tried using comments in the file, but since it's based on C/C++ I'd assume that you could comment with group separations like Hero, Vill, etc. As for editing the file, no, you don't have to rearrange the order, but it would make your life so much easier if you're looking to arrange them using it. Since we can copy/paste with ease, then it's just that simple to make a new file, setup the numbering, and just copy/paste the names.
  8. You can leave them as-is save their apparent agro. There's NO reason I should be losing my Fae because she has more agro than me from the mob that I just leaped into and started attacking. For example, yesterday I raced ahead of the Fae so that there was NO chance she would be in range when I launched my attack. Not 2s later she just Barely enters range and they ALL run towards her. Mind you, I'd been pummeling them all this brief period of time by changing my targeting, so I Should have some strong agro going on. But no, they have to go gang-bang her while I sit there and watch. So yeah... STAPH KILLIN' MA FAE!!!!!
  9. Lately I've been seeing threads along the lines of "If you're experiencing problem X, click here". IDK which subforum they've been in as I've been clicking the "show unread" when I read daily.
  10. Try opening the tequila launcher, choose Options, then click re-validate. Making sure the game is shut down of course.
  11. Holy SPACEBALLS! I'd love to see a video walk through of that. Commentary encouraged. ;)
  12. Now it IS possible to multi-boot different versions of MacOS on the same machine BTW. It'll take more work than I'm ready to re-research, but it's just as simple as using bootcamp and with less troubleshooting (because you're on the same platform). But like has been said, do NOT upgrade beyond Mojave.
  13. It'd be nice, but I'd rather have the HC team's butt-saver code active than risk a remote chance someone would use NOT having it against them.
  14. Is this not what the various red lettered threads are for?
  15. Heh, in an attempt to hit Esc (cancel a power to hit the nearest target) I often end up alt-dying. Something that will help is to go into the Tequila settings and add "-maxinactivefps 5" inside the "Launch Parameters" to reduce the game's FPS to 5 when it's not in the foreground.
  16. There's no conceivable way that the game (or any similar app) is going to cause actual damage to the drive. Fragmentation, sure, but not bad sectors. That's at the physical level and normally handled by the drive itself as it has reserve sectors for that. That SAID, move anything off that drive NOW that you don't want to risk losing. You MIGHT be able to force the drive to reallocate the damaged sectors by doing a low level format (zero it out), but the risk is always there. As mentioned before, a shot of your crystal disk report would be helpful if you wish to have a 2nd opinion on the drive's health. crystaldiskinfo
  17. IDK, instinct says it feels like a bad idea. I mean, sure, why not unlock something account wide, but then again, what if you wanted the challenge of getting badge X on alt D in which it's More difficult based on inherent design differences. Like, IDK...a healing brute? Things like accolades and badges have encouraged people to have dedicated alts for these tasks causing them to be creative in their design choices, Bio's, etc. Some of the accolades even intentionally encourage teaming (pretty sure, no quoting!). IDK, I'd rather not TBH.
  18. Heh, I remember the discussions about which pets were more well behaved in this manner. :p Also, I think this setting resets if you're too far away.
  19. I don't think you could do it as an add-on map either as that would require that there be an existing map to override.
  20. Why yes, yes I Do. I vaguely recall the extra toggle, but now it's just a single toggle that detoggles everything. Which is fine for the build so far as it's great for the RP factor and awesome for swift travel.
  21. I've never tested it, but it could have something to do with the base permissions as well. More than likely it's an unintended mix of old red-vs-blue code and big-family code.
  22. Heh, like anyone ever reads them. :p aka: How so many people end up with charges on their cellphone bill or adware installed on their computers. ;)
  23. Just chiming in to confirm that some walls are like this.
  24. In case anyone comes across this and is on a Windows computer. Here's how to force the size. While I haven't tried it, this is a literal copy of my registry settings for the game. I play in 1080p and full screen. Once this is done you can change things in-game. Copy the following into Notepad and make sure the extension is ".REG" Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Cryptic\coh] "screenX"="1920" "screenY"="1080" "screenX_pos"="0" "screenY_pos"="0" "maximized"="0" "fullScreen"="1" For the less certain, if your screen Isn't 1080p, then simply change the numbers accordingly (higher number for screen).
