  1. I'll see your Brute-and-his-merry-band-of-Corruptors team, and up the ante: Eight Masterminds. Covering most or all Primaries and Secondaries. All six pets each, all fully upgraded. Every MM running full Leadership toggles. ... That'd defeat THE SERVER ITSELF. Poof, all the magic smoke gone. :D
  2. PREACH IT, BROTHER! As long as everyone is having fun, doing their level best to play as a team .... eff it, game on, let's go punch/shoot/burn/whatever some badguys until XP falls out of them.
  3. Awesome. The more people join - on as many servers as possible - the more useful it will eventually become. Especially ... let's say I'm on Torchbearer, where most of my alts are, just solo-ing away. Someone over on Everlasting is looking to team up, well, I can always say "lemme relog, I've got an alt there in the right level range". They get a team, I get a team, everyone wins. :)
  4. The Joker, the Clown Prince of Crime, and Batman's signature arch-nemesis ...? Was originally intended to just be a one-off character, appearing and disappearing with no fanfare at all, in only a single issue. ... Boy, that didn't go according to plan, now, did it? :D :D :D
  5. Blue = Hero Red = Villain Gold = Praetoria DFB: "Death From Below", a Trial (teams only) that is very very fast, gives ridiculous amounts of XP, and drops really good enhancements. You can run it several times. If you get the "+100% XP" temporary power from the P2W vendor, you can typically hit level 10 or 11 in one run-through. XP awards taper off after level 10, but an hour spent doing DFB can get you to 15th level easily enough. Oh, and also, each time you finish DFB, you get to pick one of four buffs that lasts an entire week (or until you hit level 22). Accuracy, Damage, Defense, or Recovery (the blue bar refill rate). You can do DFB right from level 1. :) TF: a "Task Force". These are big, storyline chains of missions. You need to team up for them, and the same team stays together until it's done (even if people log off for a while). There are several of these, and each one has a different minimum level. BAF: this one I don't know. :) LFT: "Looking for Team" LFG: "Looking for Group" And, you might also see LFM ("Looking for More"), when a team leader wants more people in their group. In the Looking for Group channel, try: "<Archetype> <level> LFT Missions <faction>" You can also join the global chat channel I'm trying to get started, for people looking to team up for a couple missions here and there: "Temporary Powers". In your chat window, use this command: /chat_join Temporary Powers ... :) Eventually, yes. And still have room for a couple from various power pools, too (like being able to fly!!)
  6. ... it was added on as an afterthought. Or rather, they changed it so bloody often, and so very thoroughly, that what is there now bears zero resemblance to the original, much simpler system that was in place at Launch. CO has gone down the path of "complex, for complexity's sake". :'(
  7. Redside has been sparse since about six weeks into Issue 6, to be honest.
  8. Except they never said "shut up". Where do you see "shut up" in here? Look up the word "implicit". The comment comes across as an attempt to shut down the conversation.
  9. ... that doesn't make the "advice" that was "offered" here any better. That post basically amounted to neither more nor less than "do it yourself or shut up". Which is NOT constructive for a Suggestions forum.
  10. +1 Since the interior surface is obviously something we CAN custom-color, making the interface give us a non-workaround option would be primo.
  11. Trickshooter is right. That all sound deliciously awesome.
  12. That's not very good advice, considering most of us lack any of the skills to even attempt something like that.
  13. <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 Utility Belt looks especially good to me. :)
  14. No, you don't. You don't have to have an iPad, nor a tablet, specifically. What you do need, is a computer set up that lets you play purely left-handed, from your bed or a wheelchair. Going pure flight-of-fancy, money-is-no-object? Something that adapts the kind of text-to-speech systems that have for fully paralyzed people (e.g.,Stephen Hawking), adapted to let you look at a power icon and trigger it with a button-press, combined with just the left half of an XBOX controller, would probably work. Assuming you can still speak clearly, a voice command system might also help, even if it has a limited range of predefined macros you can use. Maybe add in pedals for your feet - there's another button or two or three, per foot, for you to use. So, just: don't get tunnel-vision on "must be an iPad or else". :) I seriously hope you can eventually find a way to play CoH.
  15. High damage, high damage, high damage and survivability, high damage, high damage and survivability. Try it on a Defender, see if it's that easy for you.
  16. My ex-girlfriend, who had a single character on my account years ago - a Claws/SR scrapper "Catgirl" - and owuld like to recreate her (when she can find the time to dive back in to CoH) mentioned something she'd like to see: More patterns, especially ones suited to cats (leopard and cheetah "rosettes" / spots was the one she specifically named). And she's right, a few more animal-inspired patterns for coloring would go a long way towards diversifying possible costumes. A Wolf-man should not look like a Jackal-man, and neither should look like a Coyote-man, nor a Fox-man.
  17. I'm going to disagree slightly with when being an MM, especially and including Robo/FF (my main back on Live, and something I'm playing again - among others - currently). At first, yes, any MM is "a slog". But as you gain more pets, you get better and better, it takes less and less time to deal with enemy spawns. The tipping point, I think, is in your teens. At 12, you've got three robots - two drones and one Protector. That's pretty good right there. Still a bit slow, a bit more of a "deliberate pace" than a headlong rush. But not bad either. And at 18, you get your third Drone. That, IMO, is when things really start to pick up. At 24, you get your second Protector, and at 28, your Assault Bot. Those are a really good boost, between them. But as Doctor Brainbottle says, the real "zoom" moment is when you get the second Upgrade power. And that is the point where you need to dust off your "Evil Cackle" skills, and get with the MWA HA HA-ing in earnest. :D
  18. ... and that's not counting any resistance you actually have, which is then MULTIPLICATIVE with that from Bodyguard. Got 30% S/L resistance (from buffs, insps, whatever) ...? Get punched for 1,000 points of damage? LAUGH as it is reduced first to 250, and then 75 of it goes away ... final damage to you, only 175. Effective resistance: 83.5% ... :D
  19. Yep. And it went both ways, too. I started a Gravity/Empathy Controller, got on a team ... and got bawled out for not healing often enough. Like, b_tch please, Empathy is my SECONDARY. My Primary is for locking down the badguys, so they stand still while you pummel them. BUT NO, "don't do anything but heal or I'll /kick you". Turned me off of running Empathy for years, that did.
  20. Bodyguard is not just Defensive stance, it's also Follow. Defensive//Stay and Defensive//Attack don't count. :) Also, what Bodyguard does is share out any damage you personally, the Mastermind, takes: each pet takes 1 share, the MM takes 2 shares. (With all six pets out, you will take only 25% damage - a whopping 75% damage reduction!! - while each of your pets takes 12.5% of that damage). It does not help at all, with damage taken directly by one of your pets. They're bodyguarding you, not each other. :)
  21. +1 Back in i8 or i9, I made a Tanker with the Huge body. That tanker was a she. The only way I could reconcile the gender, with the appearance, was: the character you saw was actually a suit of power armor, piloted by an 11 year old girl. Doing that kind of thing too often would be an awfully biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiig stretch. But female characters should be able to be Hulk-muscular too. So I completely support this idea.
  22. Yeah, that I know, Coyote. But when you enter an instanced mission, set to +0/x1, and literally everything is yellow, with a sprinkling of oranges and one or two reds? There's definitely a problem. (Or, now that some of my lowbie alts have dialled back to -1/x1, when the mission is all White and Yellow, with perhaps one or two Oranges still ... yep, still a problem, albeit buffered a tiny bit.)
  23. Leogunner, two things. First, my Corrupter has 1 or 2 story-arcs already going in KR. So she's kind of stuck there. Second, just because there's other places that aren't broken, doesn't mean we should not fix places that are.
  24. I've created a Global chat channel for exactly your sort of player: Temporary Powers. Use the command /chat_join Temporary Powers to join it. Right now there's not a lot of people on it, but in time that will change. :) TFs don't have to be done in one sitting. Back before NCSoft tried to kill the game, I was in groups that scheduled TFs for several nights in a row, an hour or so each session. :) And, with enough people joining my channel, it should be possible to set something like that up ... :)
