  1. Even before Free-to-Play, CO sucked WORSE than Anthem. The reason Forbes wrote about Anthem, and not CO? Anthem is published by EA, which is enough of a Big Deal to be on Forbes' radar. CO was published by a "little startup" with only one prior game, and was therefor too insignificant for Forbes to even notice it existed.
  2. Yup, THAT is a role that Sentinels should be about as good as Scrappers at doing (and with ranged attacks, maybe better - they can gather in those "loose" mobs without having to run over first). :)
  3. For CO travel powers? I really liked Hoverdisk. Actually, I liked that they had several varieties of flying (Hoverdisk, Flight, Rocket Boots, and wasn't Jet Pack a separate power itself?), and that they all worked _slightly_ different from each other. A is a bit faster, B accelerates to top speed sooner, B is more maneuverable, and so on. Acrobatics was pretty cool, too - a halfway compromise between Superspeed and Superjump.
  4. I don' think Sentinel defenses and health points are quite up to the role of Tank on a team.
  5. +1 And/or, for the goth set, a Bat version ...?
  6. Sounds like a problem with exterior/outdoor Lighting, then.
  7. According to the Wiki, he has exactly one story arc, "The Rise of the Vampyri", available from levels 30 to 34. It looks like you can get introduced to him as early as Level 25, so .... you mgiht just be too low-level for him to start that arc with you.
  8. At the end of the day, I think this is the key detail. It explains why CO's design principles are so different from CoX; it explains why CO feels shallow and soulless, such that for many people (my own Lifetime Subscription owning/regretting self included) CO is a total failure and flop ... despite having a lot of points of technical superiority (more varied travel powers; better costume creator; power customization/coloring happened WAY sooner; etc).
  9. Exactly what Zep says. If it were up to me? I'd put in a new "Identity Verification" podion, with a large obvious handprint scanner, right in the middle of the walkway/door, with guards standing to either side of it. And it'd be that scanner, that you'd click to go through to the next zone.
  10. My first villain character, was a Robotics/FF Mastermind. I decided he was a "rogue AI", originally built to be a police system, that had "gone bad" and sought to punish all of humanity for it's erratic, illogical behavior and tendency towards comitting crimes. Jaywalking as a gateway crime to genocide, that sort of attitude. So, that's another way you could go with the character idea. ... Alternately, you could have MULTIPLE characters, that are all essentially the same "guy" wearing different specialized bodies. Won't be a simple matter of changing costume, you'd have to relog, buuuut for RP purposes? "Damn, I knew I should have picked the Mark VIII-E body this morning; the Mark IV-A is just too lightly armored for this!" (As your Blaster build pulls a faceplant, heh.)
  11. See, I got used to MM play before pets zoned with you. And, out and about, I don't like dragging pets along behind me. So I just resummon and reupgrade my pets after entering a mission, anyway. :) ... And hey, those upgrade powers are AoE now, too, so that saves a ton of time and endurance. :)
  12. If you were a parent concerned about your child’s education would you let your kids go to school in Paragon City? “How was school today dear?” “It was OK. Mrs. K said Johnny in my class is a little hellion” “Well, some kids are a little squirrelly. Why I remember when I was a kid...” “I think she reallly meant it dad. He got the hiccups after lunch and burned down the classroom.” *picks up phone to call realtor* .... that's actually a bit of wealth privilege peeking out from behind you, there. :) How about the kids of people working in Super Gyro stores? Or the kids of the janitorial staff of any of the many high-rise office buildings in Paragon? Not every family could afford to pick up stakes and move like that. Nor to send their kids to a private school somewhere else. :)
  13. ... am I the only one who remembers SGs from before there were Bases and Prestige ...? Back when they were purely social things, or for organizing TFs, Hamidon Raids, and similar? :) One SG I was in "Young Paragons" (all characters had to be teenagers), had weekly "let's all just get together, form a couple teams, and go smash badguys" lite-RP group. For the longest time, the meetings were typically by the University in Steel Canyon ... because, again, before bases. (And also: Paragon City has an astonishing lack of schools for grades K-12 ... like, seriously, there isn't a single one, anywhere ...!)
  14. The only "PLng" I like, is DFB - because it lets me take a new concept to 14 or 16, and decide if I like it or not, without investing eight or so hours into it. (Hey, I play slowly when solo, sue me! :D ) Or, well, I'd've taken it back on Live, when my villain main ran out of content just shy of going to Grandville. Couldn't even get Paper missions. Wound up running the same "destroy Longbow base" in .... Siren's Bay, I think it was. Over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over ... gah. From level 39, to level 42. GODS that sucked arse. So I'd've taken a PL to get past that, for sure. If I'd been offered one. :)
  15. ... I don't believe that is the case. I could be wrong, but ... I try not to see Red if possible during door missions solo, before about level 25. Even orange, I get very cautious about.
  16. I would have no problem with a setup where, on a team (or with the right notoriety settings), a second-stringer "costumed superhero" shows up as a Boss, or even an Elite Boss. My issue is with the idea of them showing up as a red-con boss, even for players who are solo (and have not dialled up their Notoriety settings).
  17. Not everyone can solo a red-name. I think the game is designed so that you can solo a single red boss (+1 lvl Boss). No, not everyone can - even if the boss is the only mob on the entire map at the time. Look at how many people are complaining about being thrown against the Sea Witch, redside. That's basically what the suggestion is asking for, in almost every Redside story arc that involves fighting not-other-villains. Hell. Not everyone can solo Bosses at all, which is why one of the options in Notoriety is to not face Bosses when solo.
  18. Not everyone can solo a red-name. Some of those who can, have to spend a bunch of resources (INSPs especially, but also limited-use temp powers) to do it.
  19. Trust me, it's just as creepy with Kid Shock, my Elec/SR sentinel .... who is a 14 year old boy. Or Sokohime, my Beams/Rad blaster ... who is an 11 year old girl, in a hulking suit of power armor. ("An 11 year old girl in power armor, fighting badguys .... what could possibly go wrong? :D :D )
  20. Every hostage that dies should accrue debt for every member of the team. :)
  21. The endgame begins immediately after you finish (or skip) the Tutorial. :)
  22. Defensive/Follow ... Devensive/GoTo ... Defensive/Stay All of those are Bodyguard mode (as long as the pets are within Supremacy range of the MM).
  23. According to the wiki, you have to be level 45+ to enter, and the only access point is a submarine in the SE corner of Grandville.
  24. .... like shooting Skeet: "PULL!" ... BLAMMO .... :D
