GODS yes, on both counts. :D However, I don't order pizza out anymore. I've grown too fond of my OWN pizza (I buy sauce, raw dough, a shreded 5-cheese blend, and something for toppings; takes 20-25 minutes prep and cook time, plus an hour or so for the dough to "rest" on the counter, in a covered bowl, beforehand).

Somewhat related to this .... when I was just fourteen (right about at the end of 8th grade, actually) my mother told me she was certain I already knew all the swears she'd ever heard, "and probably a few I haven't" but she'd make a deal with me: around her, her friends, and any adult family members, I would pretend not to know a single one, and in return, she'd pretent to believe me. That last little twist of humor, coupled with not treating me like a little kid with an "or else" rule, really drove it home. Even now, in my 40s, I find myself reluctant to swear around my mother. :D

Oh, also: join my Global channel, Temporary Powers. When your son is playing, just give a holler - let folks know a 9yo is actually playing - and I/we will do our best to put together a kid-friendly team for him. :)

If you think you might EVER have that second PC, then, start the new account right now. Picture your son, age 11 or 12, learning that to continue playing City of Heroes he'll have to start all over again, and give up both his 50s, or whatever. Not gonna be a happy kid, don't you agree? :) ... As for needing another email address: just make one with GMail, and keep the login credentials so you can check on it yourself until he's old enough to be trusted (when he's, say, 40 or 45 .... right? :D )

Permanent, persistent pets are the especial domain of Masterminds. If you want pets that stick around until killed? Play one.

If you can get a second computer that will run CoH .... give the kid his own account, and let him play _with you_. On the one hand, that would let you supervise any contact he has with strangers in the game. On the other hand, that would give you and him something fun to do together, and as he moves towards middle-school age, that's not an opportunity to discard lightly. :)

So, I've got this Global Channel, Temporary Powers. And I want you to join it...! The purpose of the channel is to help people who play in short, intermittent bursts to find people to team with, in the short term. Even just one or two missions! Not everyone can, or even wants to, spend two or three hours logged on to a single character on any given day. Well, we still want to play as part of a team ... but sometimes, you can feel uncomfortable being on a team for such a short span of time. But you won't feel that way, if you find that team from a group of players that explicitly is okay with that! But for it to work, we need members. The more, the merrier. We even need people who DO play for several hours at a stretch; if you're okay with people jumping on and off your team for short stints, please do join up!

That's more common than you might think. Let me rephrase it, then: I occasionally have panic attacks at the mere thought of using the phone. My phone ringing elicits an immediate spike of fear. I don't mean just a little bit of uncertainty. I mean actual terror. I've had my plans for dinner ruined by, say, the last milk (needed for a recipe) spoiling. Not having a car, either I ordered out or went hungry. I've occasionally chosen the latter, because the thought of ordering a pizza or a sub for delivery caused me too much anxiety. EDIT to add: And as JusticeBeliever mentioned, I have set up a Global channel to hopefully help get teams rolling (a) for people with social anxiety issues, and (b) for people with short, narrow windows in which to play - even as little as 1-2 missions. IOW, people very much like myself. :) It's called Temporary Powers, and I'd love to see more people join up!

You and me both, brother. You and me, both. I'm fine and okay on forums - though even there, my anxiety complex often gives me plenty of problems you won't ever see - but in real-time, dear gods, please no. Please. I get anxious using the phone, even!

Um, yeah, you'll note that I listed exactly that bind (without the /bind comand, since I tend to put all my binds into text files, and load them with /bindload_file), albeit for Teleport. It didn't work for Translocation. Hence, coming here. Figured out my problem. Typographical error. OOPS. Yes, I know that, and that's the only time I'm trying to make the bind work. :)

One of my (too many) alts has Mystic Flight. Which gives him Translocation. When I take Teleport on a character, I set up this keybind: Sift+LButton powexec_name Teleport Well, I can't get it to work for Translocation. Not with powexec_name_. Nor have I had any success with powexec_tray # #, even having moved the Translocation icon to a regular power tray. Help a guy out, wouldja? Someone? :) I figured out my problem. A typographical error; I had written "SHIFT_LBUTTON" in my bind file, instead of "SHIFT+LBUTTON". I feel sheepish now. Baaaa. :D

Different MaxHP limits. Different Inherents. Personal preference. The buffs and debuffs for a Defender will always be higher than for a Corruptor (whereas the Corruptor's direct DPS will be higher). A Sentinel that needs less babysitting to avoid a face-plant, is easier on one's team-mates than a carpet-munching Blaster. :D

Maybe a stupid question, how is what you mention above done? Who you talk to depends on if you're a Hero or a Villain. But there's an NPC you talk to, that adjusts your Notoriety. You can set it so that Door Missions spawn as if you level was -1 to +4 compared to what you actually are, and so that the minimum team size is anywhere from just you (x1) up to a full eight members (x8). Two people, same mission; one is at -1/x0 - most of the enemies will con Blue, some White, and an occasional Lieutenant might be Yellow. The other is at +4/x8. EVERYTHING IS RED AND PURPLE, and there's six or more times as many of those things. :)

You know ... I am completely disinterested in PvP at all. Nonetheless ... +1 :) It won't get ME to go there on those nights, but, a series of rolling "this week's hotspot for PvP is _______" events where rewards are enhanced, would be IMO a reasonable step to take, to keep the PvP community entertained and engaged.

FULL STOP. ::screeching sound:: The money you gave, was to NCSoft. NCSoft is not who is running the HC servers. Ergo, you have given ZERO money to the HC devs (who are probably directly prohibited from making money off of these servers, in order to keep NCSoft off their backs). As such, you are owed nothing. Especially in light of the game being 100% free, with no paywall locking off parts of it.

... I hadn't thought of that .... that's a damned fine idea, especially for my Villains (it's a challenge to find teams redside ...) ...! So, question: if a Villain goes Rogue, and does (for example) the Synapse TF ... what badge does he get, if any? :)

I'm not suggesting otherwise. But I saw the unqualified "many people", and it looked like an inflation of the actual, one-in-a-thousand-at-best, number of people who enjoy PvP, and wanted to counter it. :)

+1 This is a capital idea, if it can be done.

You should do DFB at least once or twice. There's Badges to be had, in there. Also, all enhancements that drop are SOs. Which is pretty damned nice, when you think of it.

Because JusticeBeliever claimed it already was dealing excellent damage.
