  1. On Plant the AoE Immob is there to stop the Tank weeping when the confused Group scatter to the four winds chasing each other (added to by the Fear/Avoid from Freezing Rain and Tornado).
  2. Can't help with Storm Blast but you might reuse the two I have for Storm Summoning which are "dump Freezing Rain or Tornado onto the target" /macro FR "powexec_location target Freezing Rain" /macro TO "powexec_location target Tornado" Gives you two buttons and when you click them the power is automatically cast at your target (rather than needing to manually place). I keep them on Tray 1 with Tray 2 immediately above showing the native version (for when you want to place manually)
  3. Agree with @Onlyasandwich. Hurricane is an occasional-use tool but it's handy when you need it. Here's my version, which is more of an "eggshell Defense" build using the Ice Mastery epic (I like the Roots / Freezing Rain / Ice Storm combo personally). Less solo, more team based although I happily solo +3x8 so long as they don't have ToHit buffs (egg shell defense builds get eaten alive by Nemesis for example once the Lieuts start dropping). But for the most part power choices and slottings in key powers are very similar. Lacewing Plant - Storm_2024.mbd
  4. Lightning Storm is an Endurance pig. That + tornado is 50 End on their own (30 for LS, 20 for tornado). So definitely getting some end reduction into those if youre set-slotting them.
  5. Seconding Planet / Storm. It's a beast. End can be an issue but since you're so pseudopet heavy you can throw them out then Hibernate up and the chaos party will happily continue.
  6. DoTs don't have any special interaction with scourge. Well Darks don't. They only have one initial ToHit check and one test to Scourge. The whole thing hits and scourges or none of it does. "Rains" (which Dark doesn't have) roll ToHit for each "drop" of rain. So those repeatedly test for Scourge and there a benefit there because as HP drops the chance for a rain drop to Scourge increases. So rains get more scourges over time. So Rain of Fire, Ice Storm, Blizzard and Whirlpool are Scourge friendly. Standard DoTs don't have any Scourge friendly extra interactions compared to normal attacks.
  7. This is mine, kinda more standard "Get maxxed out resists, some Def and improve some powers with procs". This is my "if I could be arsed to respec" build since you can now skip Thunder Kick (and I hadn't realised Eagles Claw gives a Dam buff). Tanker - Radiation Armor - MA_hybrid.mbd
  8. Dual Pistols / Kin is one of my favourite characters. Mine is fairly expensive but has capped Melee and Ranged defenses along with 73 (close to cap) Smashing & lethal resists. Because you get the awesomeness of Fulcrum Shift you can underslot some powers with damage because Fulc Shift will cap you anyway. DP works well with Kin and Dark Mastery lets you take two more PBAoEs (with benefits) plus the Smashing / Lethal resist shield. You can run in, Fulc Shift, do crazy nuke-gun-dance and then finish them off with Bullet Rain, Soul Drain or Dark Consumption. Fire does do more damage but DP looks cool. 9. I've done 2 Staff chars : Brute Staff / NRG and Stalker Staff / Inv. I would say the Stalker version of staff is probably the best, Innocuous Strikes dropped for Assassins Poke is great (bit like Ice, one of the meh attacks is replaced by AS). For what it's worth I've attached both. Pretty much like yours, try and get Sky Splitter as proccy as possible as your boss killer. Brute build is from 2020 so isn't amazing. Also I believe they've improved the handling of redraw which was a bit of a pain / annoyance on my Staff brute who did use Epic attacks. I know you said you didn't want Epics but most of your damage being smashing can be disheartening. I prefer Guarded to innocuous generally, but you're capped for Lethal anyway so maybe not. Guarded "feels" like it hits more enemies but looking at the stats the cone & range are the same so that's probably perception bias / animation preferences. Attack wise I think you want both the tier 1 and tier 2 attacks to have a full attack chain and to build up the Perfection quickly. Personally I found the two basic attacks nice on both chars because the animations are snappy. I've found the flow better when using them as quick 1-2s followed by a cone and then Perfection Sky Splitter or Eye of the Storm. Snookered - Brute (Staff Fighting).mbd Stalker Staff Inv NoWinters.mbd
  10. Weirdly, no. But you're right, that's where I nicked it from for my DP/ Kin. Seemed apt although he looks more like Paul Newman playing a villainous Victorian slum landlord.
  11. The only time I have is with Modul-8, my Time / Sonic Troll DJ / 90s raver. But that's a deliberate throwback / homage to 90s UK Rave bands like Altern-8. Weirdly the only time I got stick for it was when I moved him to Everlasting for a bit. Someone gave out to me for the "leet speak name" (even though it predates leet by 15 years or so) Kids these days. No appreciation for classical music.
  12. Grav / TA was my Live "Everyone says the sets are meh but I disagree" build. The Homecoming version is excellent. Ice / Traps with is surprisingly fun, but on fast teams you can feel a little left behind. I've a bit of a loopy build which is Ice / Traps / Earth with Fold Space and Enflame (which goes on Jack but isn't amazing, it's first for the chopping block if I respec) but is missing Shiver / Cold Snap. If I was going Fire I think I'd opt for Fire / Nature. Gets the Hotfeet + a Hold aura combo and you can buff up your insane fire munkies.
  13. Thanks folks. Lots of good feedback. Spotted that the 5 slots in Build Up weren't actually doing that much (1.25% Typed def across the board) and realised the figures were slightly inflated by Hide so working on moving those slots about. Figured out the Build Export, for some reason it only works if "Dark Themes" radio button is selected, then a Color Theme shows. Stalker - Ice - Stone.mbd
  14. And we're back in the game. Sorry about that. Had to wait for AWS to move the email address associated with the account before I could get back in. Michiyo also now has a copy of the codebase so they'll be deploying an alternative version from that to give some redundancy (thanks Michiyo!).
  15. Hi folks Newly back and to celebrate I thought I'd remake my Ice/Bio stalker into an Ice/Stone. Cobbled together a build but Mids doesn't seem to like generating forum previews any more (throws exceptions for some reason, possibly to do with themes) so here's a screenshot + build file. Thoughts appreciated. Stalker - Ice - Stone.mbd
  16. This is the build I use for Plant / Storm. Ice was my Epic of choice : Frozen Armour + Ice Storm + Hibernate are all very nice to have. Dabbled with Mu for a bit but I missed the S/L armour and the Freezing Rain / Ice Storm / Roots combo too much. It is very AoE focused for teaming, hovering above the battlefield and unleashing chaos. Note that Fly Trap can slot Achilles Heel and quite a few of their powers triggers it. Did some parsing of how often it goes off and it's fairly decent. Lacewing Plant - Storm_2024.mbd
  17. I'm in the process (yes I exist, hi!) of retrieving the AWS account for this. Basically Amazon decided to split my AWS accounts in twain so I'm waiting for the log in for this to become available again. @Michiyo I can send you on the MVN project file for all of this if you want to try serving it. I use Apache + Apache Tomcat to serve it but any Java Application Server should be happy with it. Can't remember for the life of me the GITHub creds (it was 3 years ago).
  18. Default slot Spirit Ward would be my pick too. On teams you can just throw it on a grateful squishy
  19. TA loves being anywhere to be honest. It just doesn't care. I've a Grav/TA hoverer who just dumps things into a cluster and debuffs the hell out of them from afar and a TA/Elec defender who works at point blank quite happily. The snappy animations TA has help a lot. Makes it seem nice and fluid regardless of what it's paired with. My vote would be Plant/TA personally. Great set + great set = fun times. Flambé Creepers Patches will be a lot of fun.
  20. This is my understanding as well, anything tagged to receive Player Buffs also inherit the duration of the buff (otherwise combos like Aim with the Chance for Buildup Proc and Rains would be borked). Pretty sure the Use Caster Mods tag on CoD tells you what entity powers will inherit your buffs (RoF vs PA indicates RoF will gain the buffs and PAs won't). https://cod.uberguy.net/html/entity.html?entity=pets_rainoffire https://cod.uberguy.net/html/entity.html?entity=pets_decoy Possibly "Use Combat Mods" : true is why PAs can benefit from their own Soulbound procs. Edit : Interestingly Trip Mine seems to be flagged NOT to inherit Caster Buffs. Must test that with a bunch of reds. Edit edit : And done, yep, trip mine doesn't inherit Damage Buffs from reds just as CoD indicates.
  21. No, it's the higher damage cap corruptors get too, along with higher base damage values. Fulc can cap easily in most cases anyway. However Vs AVs it can be harder to cap so Defender version could be better for AV fights. For a defender I'd go either Sonic, for the debuffage but cones are a bit fiddly with Kin, or PBAoE strong sets like Elec or Rad. Elec is good because you can be a sapper (although sapping isn't great in CoH).
  22. Here's the Fire / Dark / Mace version. Poison Ray gives you the chance to slot Achilles (and does -Res itself anyway). Probably could rejig a little to squeeze yourself to the Ranged cap. Controller - Fire - Dark - Scorp.mbd
  23. I've ransacked Carni's build (Ill / Dark). I've kept most of your powers. Personally I've a thing for playing some controllers in close, so I robbed my Epic set-up from my Ice / Traps & Elec / Poison (procced up Earth). Good thing here is that you're in close to heal the imps (I did drop most of the +Def sets from imps in favour of moar recharge). I went with Lockdown on Cinders. The +Ranged def is obviously nice. But also the proc is pretty much guarenteed to go off, meaning even bosses will be held for a few seconds, giving you a chance to follow up with Char. Personally I slot my Holds as Holds, so Char is 6 slotted with the ATO set, but lots of people proc them up. I dropped Arcane Bolt since I've Seismic & Fissure. You could drop Spirit Ward for it and rob the slots off Cages (and / or drop Cages completely, I personally don't like it either). Skipping Hotfeet I'm 50/50 about in this day and age, it's one of Fires signature powers but it does EAT Endurance and stuff dies quick anyway. Another option would be to go for Scorp PPP for the Shield and Poisonous Ray (and the pet if you like). PR is VERY strong procced up. That way you could stay Hover based like you want. You WILL occasionally be splatted as a melee controller, especially if you just jump in but that's part of the fun. I did take Howling because I love it, best sound in the game (maybe 2nd behind Rad Blasts Snipe). If you want to get really weird you can 5 slot it with procs So everything gets hurt, falls over and then is immobilized for a few seconds. Controller - Fire - Dark.mbd
  24. Did that. Clicking link still does nothing. Baffled by this.
  25. What happened to Mids while I was away? Trying to open these, click them and nothing happens. Whatever happened to Export to Forum and the nice Data links? Why was it replaced with whatever this is? Had the same issue trying to post a build for someone, just seemed to break the forum every time I posted. Don't like this.
