Yep. Just confirmed that alignment tips don't work in Pocket D. And it turned out the door was inside anyway, but wanted me to use the elevator first. So only a possible problem with event tips.
-
Need to test this on a non-halloween tip, but if you are a villain and open up a tip, the location can be set to be down the Hero elevator which you can't go down. I then set my alignment to Rogue, and when I went down the elevator, it then had me go back up the elevator and the mission door was at the portal at the top of the ramp, blue side. So, minor bug with several work arounds. (Change alignment easiest)

issue 26 Patch Notes for October 8th, 2020
lemming replied to The Curator's topic in Patch Notes Discussion
Last night I was leading a ToT league in Peregrine and everyone in the league got disconnected from the server. I "think" it happened when I invited a character with the name "Cap 'N <something>" and when we were reforming, I tried inviting that char again, everyone disconnected. I was going to make sure I had the name down when it came up a third time, but I think they gave up. And we didn't crash the rest of the night. No idea if that is even semi-related to the problem with unicode. -
Just logged in a char without it and it rewarded fine. It would be between Losing Paradise and Hamidon's Fury. Maybe you already have it?

issue 26 Patch Notes for October 6th, 2020 - Halloween!
lemming replied to The Curator's topic in Patch Notes Discussion
I have gotten so used to getting up, making some tea, or something else and now I no longer have this luxury! -
short form; never got released because cryptic sold coh to ncsoft https://www.drivethrurpg.com/browse/pub/10/Eden-Studios/subcategory/57_340/City-Of-Heroes-RPG https://www.superherorpgs.com/city-heroes/

I have a character that I ran thru all the arcs and am just now entering the Night Ward. I figured if I do run into the out of missions, I'd do Oro (though limited to Praetorian items)

I played Champions from first edition and while I'm out of practice, I could probably still get a character written up in 20 minutes. While I haven't had a chance to run it yet, Prowlers & Prowlers Ultimate Edition reminds me of the old days of Champions in presentation and such. Probably because it's got a few old school Hero people involved. Unfortunately real life has interfered with the release, but they seem to be close and they do have a waiting room edition. I am friends with the staff, but no other connection other than wanting them to succeed and I do like their game. http://www.evilbeaglegames.com/ https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1977703373/prowlers-and-paragons-ultimate-edition

I use discord quite a bit, but it's more keeping up with RL friends. Some of the iTrials for badges, I'm fine with using it, but I normally turn my mic off and still type out my sarcasm.
-
Out of 59 chars, four have all T4s, but my badger has quite a few varieties to use. 50 of them are level 50 and I have been recently working on getting them more complete. And am toying with a DB to track stuff. The spreadsheet is getting unwieldy. 36 of my chars have finished all their dayjobs though...
-
if you happen to get in an itf at level 48/49 it's feasible to get to 50 before the final mission and get the alpha slot during it. (Especially on the +4 kill most versions) The Holtz/Honoree can be a bear. I've solo'd them with brutes/scrappers/tanks usually easily. Some sentinel combos worked. My Elec/Martial blaster had a surprisingly easy time of it. These were all with generic IOs. Set chars will probably have an easier time of it.
-
Was feeling lazy while getting day jobs and moving from Psychologist (Mother of Mercy) to Survivalist (Ellentown) in First Ward decided just to take the fast route via the hospital by running into the field repel by going due west from the hospital. Got "Denial of Service" So far, been able to repeat it twice.

It's one of my favourite secondaries. Tried Electric, Energy, and Dual Pistols. My Energy one was a Blapper KB monster (not great for some teams 😉 ) and Electric seemed the most survivable. Did the Alpha Slot mission with her and had the easiest time with Honoree & Captain. (Even more so than my Brute & Scrapper chars)

I have had issues since last year and wind up breaking out my headphones for blinkies. Though I think I'll check out heretu's link.

If you log out in the Pocket D Vault and are in the -210 to -212, 0, -750 range, when you log back in you are under the stairs on the other side of the wall. Location -186, 0, -740 So if you're going for Banker/Thief you get time served for Clubber instead. Minor bug, easy work around, so just noting it for your copious spare time.

Global Enhancement for Knockback to Knockdown Conversion?
lemming replied to Astra1Defender's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Maybe instead of a slot, one could purchase it via the buff station in bases and the like with some salvage. After all, you can buy extra KB via it. Another one in p2w wouldn't be bad either. (I'd make it way cheaper that the current prices for def buff, etc...) -
5 Things to Encourage Conventional Leveling
lemming replied to Kraqule's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I believe all missions that require more than one blinky clicked at the same time, no longer have that requirement. (I've solo'd most mission arcs by now without that being a problem) -
I have ten sentinels (five at 50) and eight blasters (five at 50). More sentinels because I've been playing with the various primaries & secondaries. Haven't done anything with Archery, Energy, or Ice for primary. Haven't done anything with Fiery or Ninjitsu for secondary The only thing that threw me was Energy Aura's Sentinel not having Energy Cloak, while Brutes do... I like both. I can play more careless with my sentinels and my blasters definitely faceplant more anyway. (That might just be me...) And they do play different at higher levels. One difference that showed stuff off well was the Honoree mission for the Alpha Slot. More of my sentinels did better going solo than blasters did. (Though easiest solo was my electric/MA blaster) And mostly Generic IOs for both currently.

Ever get complimented on your gameplay and it felt great?
lemming replied to JnEricsonx's topic in General Discussion
Not so much my play style since admittedly I tend to play scrapper lock on all my ATs, but I do get compliments on names and in game jokes. I also fall into the fire blaster suicide camp playstyle. -
I don't really do much funding on characters. I tend to sell the first few large inspirations I get on the market which gets ~10-20k which is enough for reveal map. Then just sell stuff as it comes up to buy the ATT, MT, and TT vet powers. (I will on occasion throw inf at them for that purpose) For enhancements though, my main which has all the memorized recipes, builds the generic IOs if needed, though most get handed down from other levelling alts. So it's more material funding than monetary I don't really think about sets until much later in their builds.

Who would get the most use out of the complete Fighting pool?
lemming replied to jacehan's topic in General Discussion
I'm having fun with an Energy/Martial Blaster with the fighting pool. -
I don't think there's much different between tweaking code and tweaking backstories. And I do realize that many people, including myself come here to escape reality. (Here being the actual game, forums are a bit different) I try hard not to engage in game with a lot of people for that reason.
-
I could certainly see Blue Steel getting his history tweaked, but let's face it, there is a lot of history that is odd in CoX that would need tweaking. In someways it's a reflection of the writers back then. Much like old cartoons have some very problematic history. I think the views of characters can be much different than the players themselves. Of course, that's my view with my characters. Some of my mine are certainly closer to my views, but others, not so much.

Thanks Widower. My thoughts on it are, I don't really care to discuss stuff in game, but I appreciate the HC team addressing it here. I do play CoH to get away from some of the real world stress going on, but the HC team are people too and that they feel this way makes me happy. In game, I tend to run stuff in my own head cannon. Like for the example with Blue Steel, maybe in my own cannon, he did get called out for his prior actions and has reformed? (I didn't even remember that bit brought up by Bentley.) It's hard to feel RW stuff when we have heroes going into low level zones to see how far one can KB a Skull. Reflecting on comics, they have always been political and often more liberal. Heck, in some ways I might be more of a liberal because I read comics. Even Judge Dredd & Marshal Law show why a totalitarian state might not be the best idea. As Scott McCloud wrote "Justice is more than a punch in the mouth" Sorry for being a bit rambly and not being completely focused.
-
I don't think treating people respectfully is politics, it's decency. Are we playing redside or blueside in the real world? (Or stuck in a goldside arc?)
