What are your tips for managing a large character roster?

This tool is great, highly recommend it. And Flea's advice is good as well. (not quite what I do, but similar) -
What are your tips for managing a large character roster?
lemming replied to oedipus_tex's topic in General Discussion
I've got 98 chars currently, most at 50, seven not, only 128 levels to all at 50. Four different semi-personal SGs, though only two are designated at levels 1-41 and one at 42-50. The other two are more experimental. I started back on live just tracking Dayjob progress, but other data wound up also being tracked such as AT, power sets, levels, age, accolades, certain other badges, incarnates, how well slotted, etc... All on a google spreadhseet, It's a bit unwieldy currently so I might breakdown and build more of a DB approach... -
Pretty sure, Team Transport is a completely different animal. Team Teleport would be the group one for short range trips. (One that I don't think any of my chars have gotten) Incan and Teleport Target are the only ones with the prompt if enabled in options which I presume are the ones really addressed by the OP, and in anycase, should be treated different than the Team Transport mission TP I'm against this being a Null option. There are cases where the char needs to be ported without a prompt for certain mission objectives. Keyes Trial (avoid the green stuff and don't die) is just one of them. Finding out one of the chars has it auto declined mid-trial would suck. And semi-annoying waiting for someone to do the trip to Pocket-D. I'd be OK if it was in the Options menu though. (And right now, if you have prompt enabled, you can ignore it for the 10 seconds it's up)

Ridiculous Girl's COH costume and emote wish list...
lemming replied to Ridiculous Girl's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
You do not chase geese, geese chase you. -
My only interest in the PVP stuff is picking up the badges. I just don't like PVP, but my only friction with them is when they gank a char just doing their own thing. If that happens I tend to just go do something else, though my friends and I found a decent way to combat that is bring in a char on the ganking side to do spotting for revenge purposes.

Ridiculous Girl's COH costume and emote wish list...
lemming replied to Ridiculous Girl's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Hey! I teamed with Marvelous Chin the other day! Fun char Costume bit I want the most currently is a Duck Head. -
Here's my scrapper build. It works well enough for me, and I suppose you could drop Energy Cloak for something else. Maybe put the Luck's bonus into Combat Jump and figure somewhere else to get 5% def

Not any help, but I was annoyed by Sentinal's version not having Stealth baked in.

Can we get a way to bypass Arc-locked TFs?
lemming replied to kelika2's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I like this. I suppose you could either make the unlocks account wide, or they unlock if you do the TF. (I'm kinda cold on it, and prefer KS's suggestion. -
This might be the behavior introduced when "Find Contact" was done? Not that Heather gets intro'd by that ever, but I think several contacts that wouldn't talk to chars walking up to them now will allow walk ups.

I'm not really a fan of loading multiple procs into a power, but it doesn't effect my play style.
-
Huh. Obviously, a GM should be able to help that out, but that's odd. I've hit the limit on a couple chars (15?), but never had this. Wonder if there is a way to pick up multiple respecs which would confuse the counter.

On team wipes: Some of us like pushing the envelope. Also, it helps not to take stuff too seriously. I've been on some PUGs and just thought 'oh, it's one of these' Pretty solid advice all around. Tanks are very solid especially for teaming, can be slow at solo, but not bad. Scrappers are a good in between solo and teaming. Sentinals are a great solo char for just relaxing and going thru missions.
-
That has not been my experience. The times I have leveled to 50 I've seen it switch immediately to XP & influence from 2xp. The 2xp power is still in my powers list, but doesn't have any bearing.

Scrappers at 50 Dual Blades/WP My main and badger; DB is fun if you don't mind combo mechanics, though can be ignored. WP doesn't have good debuff resists, but great recovery & regen if not debuffed Psychic Melee/Regen PM will tear thru some mobs, and stall out on others. Regen is great for solo since you will almost always be at full health & endurance between mobs. Easy to get overwhelmed, but you can dive out of a mob and get quick respites Claws/WP Claws is just a fun set Dark/ Bio Dark's tohit debuff is helpful if end hungry. Bio can help with that. Bio is pretty versatile Energy Melee/Energy Aura This combo might be one of my more survivable scrappers. Near caps on resist & def and hits really hard. Street Justice/Bio Street Justice is another fun set Broadsword/Shield A classic combo. End hungry at the lower levels iirc I don't tend to do much with sets until they get to 50, though I'll often throw a perf shift +End if endurance is an issue. I also have a bunch of different permutations with Brutes. For solo stuff, they're almost interchangeable and I usually pick which AT based on concept though looking at my stats, I have twice as many brutes though I tend to play my scrappers more.
-
Nope. Try to do anything with them and you get told they don't speak to people from another dimension. Dismiss not a possibility
-
I think I have less than a billion in loose influence, but I have a pretty good stock of purples, AT and Winter enh, so to outfit a character usually only takes me a little shuffling of enhancements with a little bit of converting. Takes me longer to figure out how I'm going to outfit them and do the respec than the actual doing so.

Yea, with nukes, I'm not as anti-knockback, most stuff dies which is the point to grouping them. And a well placed meteor is great. My earth blaster tossed an extra KB in for extra fun.

Missions in TF Set to +0 When Someone Entered Before Leader Was in Zone
lemming replied to Apparition's topic in Bug Reports
I noticed the previous bug report was also about Manticore, but I have noted it a few times on other TFs. Would have to see which ones it doesn't fail on. I would start with a couple "Board Transit" ones. Differentiate between the Board Transit ones that allow us to use Ouro, and those that don't. (I think there are a couple others besides MC, but not sure) -
Missions in TF Set to +0 When Someone Entered Before Leader Was in Zone
lemming replied to Apparition's topic in Bug Reports
Yep. I think if you go back into the bug lists, that was noted to still be an issue after patch. I hate leading teams right now because my system zones at sloth speeds, so rarely get to zone before someone goes in. -
And low sample rate, but got a 175 sec and 193 sec time on beating up a couple pylons for my EM/EA scrapper.
-
The only drawback I find is that I keep having to turn off Energy Cloak when leading hostages, etc... Manhole cover is my main draw to do another shield character. 😉
-
It does not need to hit. Currently playing a EM/EA scrapper and while I doubt I have it tuned to the gills, I'm pretty happy with the results. Haven't tried it out on a pylon though

How do players handle the all the Inactive characters?
lemming replied to Palehood's topic in General Discussion
Out of 96 characters, depends on what I'm in the mood to play with. That said, I do tend to play a dozen often, but occasionally will bring out one of the others to tune them and play them more in depth to get all their accolades, etc... (And everyone gets logged in if a "Login for a badge" happens) -
guide An Overly Long Tangent Talking About Hacking (TM)
lemming replied to McSpazz's topic in Roleplaying
Bah. I'm from the days when hacking was just good with computers. (Though I think we lost that fight in the late 80s) That's really my only criticism, granted I'm at the point where I can hand wave a lot so I don't get too annoyed anymore. (Many years of running computer security, mostly getting annoyed at developers making some holes easy to exploit such as executing files that shouldn't have any business being executed)
