  1. I keep seeing overwrought declarations like this, yet I still see brutes out in the wild all the time. 🤔
  2. Hard content needs people playing it and if the critical mass of players aren't, well... (There is a discussion to be had of CoH running on an outdated Skinner box model, but that's for another discussion.)
  3. One of the reasons, but, yes, so increasing the aggro cap...
  4. They already control more aggro than any other archetype. There's no need for them to control even more. You have controllers, dominators, brutes, and other tankers to handle the excess aggro.
  5. Okay, I can get behind that. Okay, that's good as well, but keep it at a flat rate for targets over the cap. Players get confused enough with PPM, lets not break more brains with more math. lol wut. Aggro cap stays where its at because there has to be some risk involved to everyone else if you pull too much aggro. I'll have to dig into City of Data on how Fury is generated, but something that works all the time like Assassin's Wrath that allows Brutes to hit and keep 100 fury is something I've had in mind.
  6. Scrappers have a weak taunt aura and no gauntlet or punchvoke, though. You'll have more runners than a tank or brute.
  7. OK, I'm curious, let's do the above math but at a more normal level of damage bonus, let's say maybe 150% from IOs and alpha. Brutes get another 175% from Fury. Tanker at 16: (0.95*2.5*10)+(0.95*2.5*6/3) = 28.5 (38 currently in live) Brute at 10: (0.75*4.25*10) = 31.875
  8. Okay, so with the current release candidate, the tanker's 76 is now down to... 57. That's still a little ahead of the brute's 52.5, and the lower cap attack results remain unchanged. At the fringe end of damage bonus, tankers still pull ahead of brutes, just not as much. EDIT: Did the math wrong
  9. ATOs in general need a review. There's Scrapper and Stalker ATOs, and then there's everyone else.
  10. I used to be a happy level one tech support guy, and then the company decided they wanted us to handle overnight customer support as well. A few months of that and I went looking for a promotion. As for what keeps bringing me back, CoH like GW2 is where I can log in and feel like "what do I want to do today" as opposed to "what do I have to do today." On top of that is how much creativity we can pour into character creation with all the costume parts and powers. Sure, sometimes I groan, but sometimes I'm sending tells saying "great bio and/or costume". CoH may be the last great creative outlet in MMOs.
  11. Weren't options already removed if the set was reliant on just two powers?
  12. The thing is that Paragon City looks like the kind of city that would already fit into a Golden/Silver/Bronze/Dark/Whatever age with all the varying architectures around town. Probably more Family, Circle of Thorns, and Fifth Column, though.
  13. "Game doomed because you're not doing what I personally want" Again, I've heard this since the dawn of game forums, when my hair was brown and there was a lot more of it.
  14. I'm guessing these were a little overtuned, or are there bugs still needing to get worked out?
  15. Why do you need even more recovery beyond Gamma Boost and Particle Shielding, though?

    Time/DP Build

Not fond of necrothreading, but I do have a question as I'm working on a Time/DP of my own. Is this damage based on solo or on a team, given how the Defender inherent works? I mainly PUG on Everlasting with occasional soloing, but I'm also thinking she'll be doing some carrying along the way as well.
  17. Farming and necrotheads? What is the deal?
  18. People who play x1 solo? People who set notoriety to bosses and AVs?
  19. The horse is beyond dead, it now looks works than a necro minion or Banished Pantheon.
  20. Things I'm having to learn now that my controllers are part time masterminds. 😁 I've been leaving the gremlins on defensive but then they just stand there when I'm plinking a held target, might have to start pointing and going "Sic 'em!"
  21. No, at 50. Who's running +4/x8 at 25 even? If you're running at a difficulty level where minion regen matters at 25, that's more a you problem than a dev one.
  22. Yeah, my Elec/Time can blow through Council at +4/x8 now. Still have to be careful about aggroing extra spawns, but she can handle one easy.
  23. I'm missing something then. How is damage down per target with the new range / radius?
  24. I think this requires a clarification,. Damage is reduced significantly depending on how many procs you're using.
  25. A tank can still pull and survive more than any other class, so I'd think they still have their spot where pulling and survival are needed: Mosh pits, for one example.
