  1. Charged armor does not give defense, it gives resistance. Personally I don't bother with softcapping my Earth/Rad, the debuffs and the control are to good plus I always play him on teams and never solo him but if you want to softcap to S/L then Weave or Maneuvers + Ice Armor or Scorpion Armor are a must.
  2. @Mereman Now that's a name I remember from Defiant
  3. CoF is of not much help for builds with lower def but if you softcap to s/l or melee, CoF works nicely, especially on a set like Katana that makes it easier to hit despite its reduced accuracy
  4. Back in the days of old sidekick, there was nothing funnier than being sidekicked by main tank and then steal all his aggro with your ice tank while happily shouting "All your aggro belongs to meh!"
  5. See, being "that guy" is not just a matter of not being able to take aggro or take poorly alpha strikes, to be a good tank, you also need to be aware of team chat, you don't need to know all the mechanics and strategies and if you are not TF leader, a decent leader will let you know in advance how to handle certain AVs. Earlier on on a STF, I said on team chat I was going to pull Black Scorpion, the tank ignored me, went his way, taunted BS and got all 4 AV's at the same time, which wasn 't intended. When getting at LR, I asked him which order did he prefer the towers, again, he ignored me and went for the blue tower alone so I had to tank LR with PA and then he started hiding behind squishes, then randomly taunting LR and bringing him to the towers in the two occasions an aoe hit yours truly to faceplant. Finally between PA and a bane spider we managed to tank LR while the tank was doing his thing. So yeah, long story short, for tanking in CoH, you will most likely be required to be able to take alpha hits, to us eyour Taunt appropriately and to be able to read team chat.
  6. You are most welcome. I always try getting an epic pool that matches either primary or secondary (or both). In this case, I thought it would work well thematically with Nin plus has two AoE attacks, Caltrops and exploding Shuriken. You can probably squeeze more def for Incarnate softcap but with the almost 60% resistance to S/L and being just 1 small purple away from said softcap, I'd probably wouldn't bother.
  7. I'd try something like this, great ST target as usual on DM and some decent AoE (2 cones + Caltrops + Exploding Shuriken). 8. OK, that's what I thought, thanks for the replies.
  9. Hello, Ok first of all please let me apologize if this question has been answered before, so far my search-fu has been unable to find in forums or wiki a clear reply. Also sorry if this is not the right section to ask, just didn't know exactly which one would be. Anyway, my question is very simple, can T3 Ageless Destiny be perma or is it unaffected by Global Recharge? If it can be perma, what recharge % are we talking about? Thanks in advance.
  10. Katana has great synergy with DA because its -def allows Death Shroud, Oppressive Gloom and most specially Cloak of Fear hit more enemies and more often thus boosting your survivability and upping your mdg output. I'd go Fighting Pool because tough will Stack neatly with your Dark Embrace for S/L res and Weave grants more def for less end usage than Maneuvers. Also, said -def effect makes to hit buffs such as Tactics less useful.

  12. Yeah sorry, Multi-Strike 🙂
  13. I personally always favored Earth/Rad, with Fire epic and a shitload of procs the dmg output is good plus the awesome control and debuff. Won't find a better char for Katie Hannon TF.
  14. I personally always go for Thunderstrike: Acc/Dmg - Acc/End - Acc/Dmg/End - Dmg/End, not especially for the sets, because it's decent stats. If you want more dmg with same slots, replace the Acc/End with a Scirocco's Dervish Acc/Dmg/End
  15. This is the one I've been using, got perma PA and it's probably the char I had most fun with ever. 16. A couple extra slots to allocate in any power you wish I might be ok with but powers are perfectly fine with just 6 slots per power.
  17. Please, please pretty please, is there any chance of removing Dr Aeon's cutscene in Miss Liberty TF? or at least make the cutscenes just trigger only when a first time char is on team? Pretty please?
  18. To be honest, I don't understand the problem of lack of AoE, other sets also lack AoE, such as Martial Arts while others lack ST thus making boss killing harder than other sets, that's what Pool Powers and Ancillary / Patron powers are for. To keep in topic, the lack of AoE in Dark Melee can be covered by Cross Punch, Spring Attack, Energy Torrent, Ball Lightning + Electric Shackles, Fire Ball, Night Fall + TT, Caltrops + Exploding Shuriken plus secondaries such as Shield or Fiery Aura. Honestly, that's the beauty of the game, the amount of possibilities it offers.
  19. There is an awesome DM/EA build I could recommend you but it's called DM/SR 😛 Sorry for trolling, boooring Monday, I never used EA so can't be of assistance.
  20. I am really sorry, for some reason I missed your question, now I hope it's not too late for a reply. Besides what Sigmoraig explained, on Weave I already allocated both the scaling dmg resist and a lotg +rchg, I had to choose which set. Luck of the Gambler offered +regen and +HP while reactive defenses offered S/L res and higher +HP. Since my S/L res was already capped, going for reactive defenses would have wasted 1 bonus hence why I went for 3xlotg.

    Invuln/Elec

Lighning clap is just a control tool that the new KB to KD enhancement has made useful for just a couple slots so I just use it as dmg mitigation and, as pointed above, to buy some recharge time.

  23. Both should do fine, also DM/Shield should do fine. SR has the advantage of being easy to softcap and having a 20% extra recharge since, for AV killing, your attack chain has to be Soul Drain as soon as it's up and then Midnight Grasp - Smite - Soul Drain - Smite and you'll need a lot of rchg for that chain
  24. Apologies in advance is this has already been posted. I noticed on my Ill/Dark troller that Team teleport acts as Teleport, I have recall friend and tp foe and my lvl 49 power choice was team tp but it does not work, it just teleports me, acts exactly as "Teleport", period. Just FYI.
