  1. To be honest, I don't understand the problem of lack of AoE, other sets also lack AoE, such as Martial Arts while others lack ST thus making boss killing harder than other sets, that's what Pool Powers and Ancillary / Patron powers are for. To keep in topic, the lack of AoE in Dark Melee can be covered by Cross Punch, Spring Attack, Energy Torrent, Ball Lightning + Electric Shackles, Fire Ball, Night Fall + TT, Caltrops + Exploding Shuriken plus secondaries such as Shield or Fiery Aura. Honestly, that's the beauty of the game, the amount of possibilities it offers.
  2. There is an awesome DM/EA build I could recommend you but it's called DM/SR 😛 Sorry for trolling, boooring Monday, I never used EA so can't be of assistance.
  3. I am really sorry, for some reason I missed your question, now I hope it's not too late for a reply. Besides what Sigmoraig explained, on Weave I already allocated both the scaling dmg resist and a lotg +rchg, I had to choose which set. Luck of the Gambler offered +regen and +HP while reactive defenses offered S/L res and higher +HP. Since my S/L res was already capped, going for reactive defenses would have wasted 1 bonus hence why I went for 3xlotg.

Lighning clap is just a control tool that the new KB to KD enhancement has made useful for just a couple slots so I just use it as dmg mitigation and, as pointed above, to buy some recharge time.

  6. Both should do fine, also DM/Shield should do fine. SR has the advantage of being easy to softcap and having a 20% extra recharge since, for AV killing, your attack chain has to be Soul Drain as soon as it's up and then Midnight Grasp - Smite - Soul Drain - Smite and you'll need a lot of rchg for that chain
  7. This, very much this.
  8. Apologies in advance is this has already been posted. I noticed on my Ill/Dark troller that Team teleport acts as Teleport, I have recall friend and tp foe and my lvl 49 power choice was team tp but it does not work, it just teleports me, acts exactly as "Teleport", period. Just FYI.
  9. So, now you are not only patronizing but also admitting you could not be arsed to check her build before contradicting her over and over again. Also, you are assuming that, uaual advice is a low bar and the discussions on a build are always about min/maxing when all OP asked for was a solid build. This looks to me like you are getting too much assumptions from your own rear and flag them around as if they were some sort of an absolute truth. And to top it someone who took the name of a player who sadly passed away is calling me petty. I'd better stop derailing this thread more than I have already, have it your way dude.
  10. That's what she's been trying to say all this time tbh, as far as I have read, she never claimed this to be the best option and quite frankly, your Dark/Poison thread is kinda irrelevant since this whole thread is about an earth/storm build. Are there better options with other Controller powersets? probably, same way I am sure there better AoE options with other ATs, in the end, she suggested an earth/storm build that works, as you just admitted, anything else beyond that is sort of irrelevant and sometimes seems even petty.
  11. That is very true
  12. For what is worth, this is my Psi/Fire Brute. Since ppl mentioned that the few mobs that were resistant to psi dmg were highly resistant, fire brought a different type of dmg to the mix that I also complemented with Soul Mastery for a third dmg type. 13. For me the perfect match is DM/SR, although DM/Shield offers same synergy plus some advantages such as +dmg aura, higher res. +HP... among other things (SR offers +20% rchg though). Besides these two, I found DM/Inv, DM/Bio and DM/Fire incredibly fun to play and solid performers.
  14. I am currently lvling an Ill/Dark and I absolutely love him plus the concept fits as some sort of arcane warlock / sorcerer / magician. I think Dark/Storm could work too for soloing with enough procs and KB to KD enhancements for better control.
  15. DM/SR Kat/Inv DM/DA MA/DA Not from the beginning though, I started playing during I7
  16. You'd just need to go to the Heroes & Villains website, it's her project as a part of the CoH successor games
  17. I'd find extremely ironic having animated hair implemented in the game now that we don't have to endure Golden Girl's demands for it in any thread she felt like derailing.
  18. Stone/Fire is awesome, especially if you softcap it to S/L. WP, Inv and Rad should also be fun.
  19. I usually run my DA and Fire chars, even tanks, at 8 KB prot and it's usually enough for pretty much everything (except stacked Fake Nems or the last AV in Market Crash) so, 16 is a huge overkill. Pretty much any secondary that grants Mag 10 KB prot is enough so I'd say with Mag 12 you are more than covered.

    TW/Dark

Numbers look good (if not running FA) but you have sacrificed too much for my taste. No Death Shroud, no Cloak of Fear and more importantly, Dark Regeneration usefulness is heavily impaired for my taste, but yeah, defense, resistance and rchg numbers are spectacular, I just don't think that char will feel like a Dark Armor char.
  21. My DM/Bio is softcapped to Nrg/Neg/Fire/Cold instead of S/L, for whish I am dmg res cap (75%) and performs suprisingly good for such a cheap build (only 1 attuned set). He's not the best char for an ITF but he does great pretty much anyhwere else.
  22. Before going for recharge, you should make sure you hit the defense softcap (45%) to all positions. The best attack chain is indeed MG-Sm-SL-Sm and with the 20% extra rchg from quickness plus the LoTG 7.5% rchg you can easily allocate should be doable plus you can also get some decent S/L resistance as well. I would also recommend getting more AoE dmg from Pool Powers (Cross Punch, Spring Attack...) and from Epic Pools (Fire Ball, Ball Lightning...). Also, I know many people are against Shadow Maul but if you use it correctly and well positioned, is a decent cone despite its long animation.
