  1. Dammit, see what you did? now I have to roll one myself *shakes fist*
  2. Unfortunately rad is a tough build to softcap and compromises have to be made. In this case, I have sacrificed Hasten but got utilities in the powers that interest me. If instead of going Soul Mastery you go energy Mastery with Superior Conditioning and Physical Perfection, you can allocate the extra slots where needed in more useful places, although I love Soul Mastery so I'd probably keep it. I am sure there are more and better options than this, this is just the one I'd go for if this was my char. 3. At first glance the figures were epic, then I realized Vengeance & healing flames were on plus the BU proc masks the results. You crtainly have perfect S/L/Fire res and decent cold/neg/nrg res, perma hasten and the ST optimal attack chain but I find it's an awfully expensive build just for that plus, if you keep on maneuvers + tactics + weave, the end cost will borderline prohibitive. I personally love S/L softcapped DM/Fire, I had one back in game and he was all kinds of awesome but I've found out that I struggle to reconcile s/l softcap and high enough rchg for perma hasten. It is probably the way i build chars but most of times I have to choose one way or another and I always prefer s/l softcapping. I find a few powers overslotted (Dark Consumption, Vengeance, Maneuvers, Health) others underslotted (Weave, Burn, Shadow Maul) and others that I think the slotting is wrong (Combat Jumping, Smite, Siphon Life, Midnight Grasp, Fire Shield, Plasma Shield, Tough) but the latter is mainly because, as mentioned, I always go the S/L softcapping way. All in all, it is a build with great resistances and exceptional recharge so should do pretty much any job, I just think there are other more efficient ways to build a DM/Fire.
  4. Sent you the build and the whole explanation about it on a pm because I had not checked the board, here you are the build again in case the link did not copy correctly. As I said on the message, this is the build I'd use if I rolled a Spines/Fire Brute (or Scrapper, close enough). 5. Dark Melee/Fire is awesome, Soul Drain + Burn is great AoE combo and if you get another AoE from ancillary pool (Ball lightning so you have 3 different kinds of dmg is a good choice) you will end up with a killing machine, especially if you invest in IO sets.
  6. OK, basically Dark Armor creates a lot of endurance issues, what I have done so far everytime I levelled a DA char is: - Slot a Kismet asap, that'll help you with to hit, last thing you want is miss attacks so the can drain your end for longer - Besides slotting your toggles for endrdx, you will need to micro-manage them turning them on and off. Karmas and Steadfast Protection KB Prot enhancements are also helpful to avoid Acrobatics. - The priority is to slot endrdx everywhere, especially your attacks. I personally also avoid Hasten, mainly for concept reasons with Dark chars but in any case, Hasten is an end hog so, if you go for it, don't put it in auto, just click it when starting to fight. - Maybe you also want to adjust your insp drops to just blues and purples, you will be popping blue inspirations like crazy until you incarnate and/or put some serious end rdx / end recovery sets. - Try getting all the +endurance Accolades. I hope this helps.

    ???/Shield

Elec/Shield is awesome, Lightning Rod & Shield Charge, nuff said.
  8. Do you mean SS/Dark or Dark/Fire?
  9. Before Dark was ported to Controllers and Dominators, i used to play a D3 Defender because the Dark Miasma set felt pretty much like a controller set so I wa scurious to see what would they come up with regarding controllers. All Dar/Dark sets are fun to play, including blaster, but I'd highly recommend you Dominator because it's gameplay offers something different and as pointed, is more active.
  10. How bigger the KB res? I mean, with SR and the appropriate rchg for an AV killing ST Chain your Practiced Brawler can stack most of the time granting mag 20 KB Prot. Anyway I am always partial to DM/SR, my first char was a DM/SR Scrapper on Defiant and I loved him so much that rolled another to lvl up in Union, it's awesome synergy and with the new sets you can get a respectable S/L res on top of the softcapped def and the highest defdebuff res ingame (if i recall correctly). DM/Nin will probably make an awesome scrapper as well but for me, DM/SR hands down.
  11. I may be thinking of tanks then, I certainly remember there was a different Eagles Claw animation for Granite Armor and assumed the set had been ported to both Brutes and Tanks but probably it was just for tanks I guess.
  12. I'd say you're on the money for it, SR because of Quickness, WP because... well, WP works with everything and I would add Elec because of Lighnting Reflexes.
  13. WP is a more comfortable choice since it has some defense, some resistance, regeneration and +HP so it has good survivability on its own plus it's really easy to boost with power pools and, if you like it, just a few sets and it is also a very passive set so it is pretty much easy mode. Ninjitsu is also somewhat a mixed set although its main strength by far is positional defense. It has a few survivability tricks and a self heal so it is a far more active set than WP and will probably take a bit more effort power pool and set wise to take to an optimal spot which would be softcapping all positional defenses, but yep, great set nevertheless. It is a matter of personal taste and playstyle, I personally find WP way too dull and although I tried to get into it many times because, let's face it, offers the best survivability for the minimum investment, I always ended up deleting my WP chars, namely lvl 50 spines/wp, lvl 50 claws/wp, lvl 50 BS/WP, lvl 41 DM/WP back in game and more recently a lvl 41 STJ/WP. I did not recommend Nin because I felt for the cocnept char the OP mentioned, SR, Inv and WP would fit better but yep, Ninjitsu is a great set and would work well with Staff, of course.
  14. I am partial to Staff/Bio but based on the type of char you want, either Staff/SR, Staff/Invuln and Staff/WP should work fine. SR is def based set with +rchg perk, Invuln is a mix of res and def with an awsome self heal that also adds HP and WP which relies on +HP and +Regen to survive with the advantage that benefits from pretty much every single power pool, especially Fighting Pool.
  15. *Wipes tear* Thank you and ten thousand times thank you!!! now I can finally level my ice and earth controllers without cursing everything and everyone
  16. I have been fiddling a bit with a build for a Dark Melee/Bio. Tried to adapt it to Psi and came up with this. Probably not the best build but hopefully can give you some ideas. I have sacrificed perma hasten (12 seconds gap) for being softcapped to nrg/neg/fire/cold, resistance capped to S/L and decent Toxic resistance also. You can go the S/L softcapping instead by investing in unique and At specific IOs though I tried to keep it on the cheaper side: Hero Plan by Mids' Hero Designer 1.962 http://www.cohplanner.com/ Click this DataLink to open the build! 17. Aha, you're right, it's a bug not showing the yellow circle around the power, it works as intended so, it's not just you.
  18. Tactics alone will not unlock fast-snipe. First you need to overslot Tactics (you need 90% enhancement before applying ED effects) which will get you to 16% To Hit and then you need to add a Kistmet IO for an extra 6% To Hit in order to hit the 22% threshold. So yeah, Targeting Drone is much easier. Getting 16.46% To Hit from tactics and 6% from the Kismet so I am at 22.46% to hit according to game and still no insta-snipe on an Arch/TA Blaster :(
  19. OK this is my definitive build, I've tweaked it to squeeze the most To Hit possible from Tactics so as per Mid's now I have 22.5% To Hit and as per game info 22.46%, still, no insta-snipe so I guess the info about 22% to hit was wrong or Zeleski fucked up another thing besides everything else he already fucked up. 20. You could improve your overall recharge and make Hasten perma if, instead of the Kinetic Combat sets you use Crushing Impact sets and go for agility Core Paragon in Alpha slot at the expense of lowering your dmg res and to be softcapped to S/L def you will need 3 enemies in your invincibility range instead of just 1. You will also save a shitload of inf though because Kinetic Combat is damned expensive set: Villain Plan by Mids' Villain Designer 1.962 http://www.cohplanner.com/ Click this DataLink to open the build! 21. Ok, this is how I'd do the build ideally. No end issues whatsoever, S/L Def softcapped with a margin to help on an occasional def debuff, almost at S/L res cap with Cardiac Alpha, awesome 2091 HP once fully accoladed, decent dmg res to other kinds of dmg except the usual toxic and psi (and even good res against fire/cold) plus only 10 secs downtime on Hasten. This is not a cheap build but you can save a few million using one Smashing Haymaker set instead of one of the kinetic combats, either the one in Shin Breaker or the one in Crushing Uppercut. 22. Well, invuln benefits a lot from the +S/L dmg res enhancements and bonuses since you can cap your S/L res (and pump up most others) without having to take Fighting Pool, that will free 3 power choices for you. Of course, Invuln also benefits from +def enhancements and bonuses and you can choose betwen softcapping to S/L dmg or if you are already res capped to S/L dmg, you could softcap to exotic dmg (nrg/neg/fire/cold) for a more complete build. +Recharge and +HP are also very desirable, especially +rchg to get minimum downtime or even perma Dull Pain. These are the priorities I take on an Invuln char. You can also rely on Alpha slot to round them up since you can choose between +res, +rchg and even a +def/+rchg one to complement your set IO bonuses.
  23. Although many players expect and even demand (and that's something that should be addressed somehow) Brutes to tank, a Brute is a perfectly fine damage dealer. I'd say it depends at the pace you play, Brutes usually play at a much faster pace plowing from group to group to keep their Fury bar up, while Scrappers can (if so they wish) take a different pace without having to build up their dmg again.
  24. Actually, I think they did, if I am not mistaken, MA was ported to Brutes together with Katana and BS while Mace and Axe were ported to Scrappers, could be wrong though, I'm getting more handsome as time goes by but not younger I'm afraid
  25. That is great becauce, although I am trying to bring friends to the game, sometimes I am overwhelmed trying to explain everything and even worse, translating stuff into Spanish so threads and iniciatives like this one are really helpful because they're providing a basic build without sets to help understand but also the chance to slowly introduce the concept of sets prioritizing, in this case +def, in others could be KB Prot or +HP or anything totally different. I wish there was a section on all AT's dedicated to basic builds the way you did here.
