Hmm, that's mad. I've also seen that if you play a Necro MM and have a Soul Extraction Lich, if you die then they, being a different sort of pet, don't dissipate, and they can use Howling Twilight to rez you. I wouldn't attempt to rely on it but it can happen!

When your ally advances out of the flames and scares the bejeebus out of you because you were CERTAIN you'd cleared that room!

One of our little SGs runs them regularly, rotating the lead as we go depending on what alt we're using.

Well, Devs Choice missions in the AE already give out normal XP/drops, so clearly they can be tagged to do so. A lot of what I put in the other post is derived from trying to think how - from an external point of view - to leverage what we have already. Again, near enough to being on the same page here.

I for one got into CoX back in the day partly BECAUSE I didn't have to put up with the "if you're not in a guild then you're literally wasting your time" thing I saw elsewhere.

Thanks, @Grindingsucks. Don't farm so I was blanking there. I suppose I SHOULD have known, I mean enough people talk about farming and so on, but I tend to zone out when I see that. AE is always story for me.

Ok, I'm tired, this isn't meant to be offensive but what does this mean?

What about...what about a NARRATIVE end content option for a character? Bear with me, I'm pretty much thinking this through as I type. It would take a little bit of work, might need a cut scene, but a mission where if you take it your character IS going to die, but go out in a blaze of glory. And by "die" I do mean die. It's gone. You'd get to strip the body of all salvage/enhancements/etc after and then even the name is sealed off to everyone. Thereafter you'd see citizens mention as they go by, "Hey, do you remember how Doomslayde took out such and such? Man, that girl, we won't see her like again." "Yeah, there should be a statue. We should start a petition." And I don't mean like they do after you've done a particular mission, instead a more permanent way. Admittedly that would also need tweaking, since we can't have citizens passing each other saying the above while another says, "Hey, do you remember how Boom King took out such and such? Man, that guy, we won't see his like again." Whatever. Ok, it's nebulous and a bit mad.

This sound reasonable to you? It's all about leveraging what we have. I mean this notion came about after discussing this with you previously!

Deliberately set Pre War to "fit in" to the Imperial Power line.

Blowing my own trumpet here, @CaptTastic, but if your boy wants a "blast from the past", check out the Praetorian entries in my sig 😄
-
Pie in the sky time! The above pre-vis material. I know they need a lot more work, a lot. But could they be used as a basis to build out a fourth "Praetoria Proper" zone? Cut and shaped, rendered and parts of the other three cloned into it? Yes, yes, a LOT of work, but hypothetically now? I've envisaged a "secret neighbourhood" that Cole and the Praetors have access to that the citizens normally don't! For one thing, where exactly IS Tyrant's Casino anyway? LOL.

I'm working on my second 24 Carat Level 50 Praetorian, Resistance this time, Loyalist last time. And I like writing AE adventures. Maybe no one will play them but me, but unlike when I was a TT GM, this time *I* get to run through them too!
-
Perhaps it is but it's very much related if it is. Ah. I don't know the meme. So I have no idea whether you're agreeing, disagreeing or indifferent.
-
Yep, the lore is there. Lore made by a full time dev team. Right now we are moving forward, it's not fast enough for some. That's unfortunate.
-
What's challenging to one player, not character, may not be challenging to another. And both need to be addressed in some way. I'd rather play "The Last of Us" than "Dead or Alive", but that's me. And challenging for a character? Is your character a powerful character because they have all Superman's powers, or because they are Superman? Those aren't the same thing and each approach I'd warrant is part of the choices the dev team are looking at. Again, working within their current boundaries. One of which is also ensuring the stability of the code. Different strokes.
-
Content is exactly what's needed. But at the moment we're in the position of part time volunteer Devs leveraging existing assets. Content as regards story can be done, we do it ourselves in a limited way in the AE, but right now, there are boundaries that are being hit.
-
Well, we're in "different strokes for different folks" territory here, really. Me? I want the game to go wider, more depth, more stories, out and out, not driven into a point (and this is my opinion rather than me assuming I'm speaking for many) of "I'm a god, give me god stuff". I want to see the game's narrative and plot advance, that's not tied to "I'm level 90(+1) , so I need fights to be THIS hard. Fallout from previous stories, what are the people doing. I understand where you're coming from, I do. Progression of a sort is desired in games. And having played for instance Cole's Personal Story, It's a great piece of character for him. But surely, if it were your character, you'd want to at least have the chance of being defeated? Else what's the point. Cole's story is effectively a cut scene you get to benefit from but it's still only a cut scene. Again, in continuing to level and get stronger you're delving into the downside of HC albeit it can't be helped, in that as a volunteer set of devs they literally haven't the team to build out the way you're talking about. Or at least that's my take on it.
-
RIP. Never knew him but RIP all the same.
-
An absolute waste of a decent character. If you check out "The Web of Arachnos" (especially) and "The Freedom Phalanx" you can see what COULD have been done with him.
-
I don't report that many, since a lot of what I see is already here, but here's one. . Per se. NOT per say.
-
Again, I'm gonna reference the above link, with emphasis on the section of part of the AE console being added to the base computer.
-
Hmm, I can see the name "Super Patriot" being a bit tricky these days! SG Mission Computer? Well, since we have effectively unlimited base access now, how on earth would you earn it? Use the base computer 100 times? That's pretty much the same as buying it since a mission costs 1 Reward Merit. Street Crime and Iron Man? They could definitely go somewhere!

See above suggestion!
