  1. I must ask! If you've done Dark Deeds in Galaxy City: Part Two...how did the second mission go?
  2. How about the ability to grant temp powers to players? Like the virtual rez you can already get it would only work in AE and be greyed out elsewhere. If this is mentioned elsewhere then consider it a bump.
  3. At some point I'm tempted to post an AMA (spoiler tagged obviously) for the entire 45 episodes/missions.
  4. Well I can't say it made a difference to me since I hadn't experienced it before you swapped it out but it was a damn good arc. Plus one of the best uses of the Striga bridge I've seen. I've used it and it is a [insert swearword of choice] to get things to spawn where you'd like without overpopulating the map. Kudos.
  5. SERAPH map! AAGH. Trucks inside the damn building! Though Ankylosaur and cranebump are my two first stops these days for AE.
  6. Delighted to hear that. Had immense fun writing them. And... cue advertising jingle... there's a third series as well. Darkest Before Dawn.
  7. I like this a lot. However I do not have the patience to do it!!! Nor the slots to spare frankly.
  8. Essentially what cranebump said. The end result is the end result, regardless of fail or win, but it's the HOW of it that you must engender in the players. So you succeed at A and B happens, or you fail at A and B happens but for different reasons and those reasons must make sense in the context of the mish you are doing. So yes, use a Deus Ex Machina but if you can hide that it is one that works better.
  9. Well I'm going to buff my ego and suggest mine! It starts with the current (September 12 2020) Dev Choice option of Dark Deeds in Galaxy City: Part One (Arc id 26756) so full XP and drops on that for the month, and carries on through Part Two, (26952) and Part Three (27233). There's a natural break there but if you want to continue with the fallout from that and the people you met in it then on you go to Darker Deeds: Parts One to Three (Arc ids 28374, 28526 and 29252) and then culminating in "Season 3", Darkest Before Dawn: Parts One to Three (Arc ids 29891, 30210 and 30560). Now that might seem like a lot but you're only doing them in arcs of 5 so that breaks it up. If you're not looking at mine then I recommend cranebump (Try the Ordinary People arc and work from there, Arc ids 31902, 21902 and 25396), and ankylosaur's work (Robolution Arc id 25870 is the other (September 12 2020) Dev Choice for the month) as having storylines well worth following. There are many others too. Try looking for SFMA as a search option and this should throw up story based missions. (But these two are definite go tos for great story!) Happy hunting.
  10. See? Doesn't sleep. Just keeps on writing!
  11. I think the one thing I really disagree with re AE advice is the advice to not "overwrite". People are either going to click through things...or they're not. If they're not then give them story, if they are then they aren't reading it anyway so write for those that will. I'm not advocating purple prose but there's no need to emulate "Go. Hunt. kil. skulls."
  12. Everyone here puts such work and let's face it, love, into their creations. It's great to see! Keep up the good work! So while I was mad enough to nominate all the Dark to Darkest story line for Dev Choice (and I'm not rescinding that!) I suppose I should put current primacy towards Dark Deeds in Galaxy City: Part Two, Arc ID 26952. Following the events of Dark Deeds in Galaxy City: Part One, Ghost Widow wishes to "avail of your services" as she seeks to recover items rather personal to her. (And that leads directly into Dark Deeds in Galaxy City: Part Three, Arc ID 27233, where after various shenanigans in the service of Ghost Widow across the Rogue Isles you return to Paragon in an attempt to end the threat of a faction of Arachnos armed with time travel capability.)
  13. Delighted to have been chosen! I just hope people have as much fun playing as I had writing. Just as a matter of interest, you can see Madame Maven and her team chatting to the press all around Atlas Plaza and City Hall.
  14. Dollface's Manison. We have Manticore's so why not this one? Admittedly you have a large portrait of her on one wall, but you can ignore that.
  15. I believe I added some clarity to my point which actually agrees with you. Callbacks and learned experience from Live = Good. Treating Live as something never to be changed because "that's how it was and that's how it should remain" = not good.
  16. As an aside, there's a whole slew of island/landmass to the south of the Rogue Isles map that aren't even zones! What's there? A topic for elsewhere perhaps!
  17. A thought. If those contacts were not contacts but say the equivalent of tips? And you can dismiss tips. And I do remember what that was like 🙂 I'm not a PVPer I'm just more thinking out loud about a reason to go there. Personally? I stated my own preferences above. Reclaim Bloody Bay and Warburg for the Rogue Isles as PVE areas by either doubling them or flagging PVP off. Siren's Call needs a plot overhaul to be any use to anyone. Even if Paragon cleared out the Arachnos it's still just a ruin. And RV? It's the only one that really seems to have a purpose in game (kinda). Again, we're all talking in circles IMO. Echo locations aren't going to be free for all, the under 40 PVP zones are mostly dead and RV is only active on Indom. Time to draw a line under this and move on for now methinks.
  18. I believe I failed to explain myself fully there. Not arguing the point of experience and so on, and how we got to here. Take that as read, But I'll give you a little example (and you might have already seen it but maybe others haven't so bear with me). A while ago I pondered that perhaps the old Paragon Dance Party could be used for something else. And I threw in some suggestions. Good or bad? That's subjective obviously. What isn't subjective is people declaiming things like "It was shut down on Live so that's the way it must always be. End of. " Which some did. And I've come across that peculiar attitude elsewhere here and chatting to people in game or on Discord, as though Live was somehow carved in stone. That was my reference point. Again, I should have been clearer. Apologies.
  19. I'm agreeing! I'm thinking that an idealistic notion would be for players to have a PVE and a PVP build for their character(s) [Yes, I know some do this but I think the majority don't. Altitis doesn't seem to extend to a second build for some reason] and for there to be more to do in the PVP zones beyond "only" PVP/badging/shard&nuke collecting. A mission sends you to Warburg, you pull on your PVP build and off you go. I'm not sure. I'm in the position of someone who by and large doesn't PVP yet doesn't want PVPers to lose out, because why should they?
  20. I think any attempt to build out the PVP community is not going to involve the Echo zones. Again, and I'm sounding very repetitive now, only Indom practices any level of real PVP and even that is mostly confined to RV, I don't know what the answer is right now. I've thrown out various suggestions above, though ultimately they still benefit PVE more than PVP, having read them again, so... I think one thing has to be taken into account, and this applies to everything in the game, we need to look at the game as it is now. I read too many responses from people saying, "well, that is how it was on Live", or "On Live this was a thing", or "On Live they did such and such", or "before I13..." Live is gone. Now is now.
  21. The incarnate stuff only works in RV, everything else is level capped. Level 1 -50? That can mean different things to different people. Do you mean make them like event mobs that con white with no visible level so they can battle anyone? Genuine curiosity there. And the training dummy? That's a good idea.
  22. Would it though? I mean the actual PVP zones outside RV on Indom are mostly dead apart from random badge hunters and people wanting Shivan Shards and/or Nukes. Surely getting the PVP zones that already exist to work better in some way is better?
  23. To be honest I'm not sure this is the right place to post this, but anyway. While it's a LONG way off, has anyone else noticed (I'm sure someone has) that the southernmost islands of the Rogue Isles aren't mapped or zoned or, as far as I know, even referenced? Just south of Port Oakes, and continuing further south, those ones. Now with a tiny dev team I don't see that being addressed any time soon but I'm just pointing out a thing 🙂
  24. Being able to have more than the single contact person. Finish a Mish and your contact says go see so and so. And next Mish is with that next contact.
