  4. Just don’t monitor the toxic resistance. Healing Flames is way more useful as a reactive heal than a proactive resistance…
  5. Appeared to be autohit when I tested yesterday. I’m not worried about the set’s sturdiness. If I can tank Lord Recluse on a Night Widow, I think I will manage.
  6. Does Jolting Chain proc differently now? IIRC it was fun to put procs in there but I haven’t played Electric Control in years.
  7. Effective at mezzing trash mobs or effective at damage and/or firing off procs? I don’t care about the former on a melee toon to be clear.
  8. Just logged onto Beta to write down numbers so I can start builds. Three comments: 1) The lethal weakness also looked like an error to me at first glance, but I see that’s been addressed. 2) Patch notes say Impose Presence is Def(All) but the in game info doesn’t show AoE defense. Is this intentional? 3) We’re all in agreement that Aura of Insanity is the power to skip right? (I’m totally fine with that - picking 9 primary powers is painful)
  9. You only get no XP if you do no damage. Which has to be the case because otherwise you could get XP without entering combat. But once you do damage to foes that are also being attacked by confused enemies, you always get an outsized share of the XP.
  10. Yeah the recovery is definitely a bonus. Just because of the better sustain I might give it a try still, but I still think it will turn my Dark Tanker into one of my less sturdy Tankers. The only reason I can probably justify it is that you can justify just about anything on a taunter if you’re running Barrier, Melee, and don’t have a crippling inspiration allergy.
  11. You actually get bonus XP against confused enemies. For example, according to the curve on HCWiki, you get 50% of the XP if you only do 20% of the damage. AoE confuses have been proven to increase reward gains per unit of time, so they’re actually already the best mez effect in the game.
  12. Yes, Plant is overpowered on live. Yes, Confuse is the most powerful mez effect in the game. No, you aren’t an expert on Plant just because you play Plant. Stop being ridiculous. The set is in good shape now after the most recent changes, so what is the point of the gaslighting.
  13. This thread is about the two new pairs of mutually exclusive powers in the open beta patch: Dark Regeneration vs Obscure Sustenance from Dark Armor and Hoarfrost vs Rime from Ice Armor. Which power are you planning to take when this goes live, and why? I think it has to be Dark Regeneration for Dark Armor. With Obscure Sustenance it seems like you’d be comparable to an Electric Tanker without a heal. I just don’t think res and regen will cut it with zero heal or absorb. But I guess it’s not like my SR or Willpower Tankers have either of those things so maybe it will be enough? For Ice Armor I’m going to at least try the absorb because absorb kicks ass on Bio and Rad armors. But I don’t know how that will shake out compared to Hoarfrost either. Go.
  14. As I said in another thread, I’m fine with either buffs or nerfs too. My only irritation with this patch is the sheer amount of time it will take to catch up with the changes (several months). Based on some half-assed probably low-ball estimations, I will need at least… 7 billion influence and 2,500 aether particles to complete all of the new things plus all of the required respecs.
  15. Your understanding is correct, but the word fix makes it sound like it was first implemented by accident, which it wasn’t. But yes, the devs are rolling back some of what they now perceive as an overbuff on their part. Live = Tankers get bigger AoE’s but same proc rates as everyone else Beta = Tankers get bigger AoE’s but lower proc rates than everyone else
  16. I’m sure you’re right. I wouldn’t know anything about Mastermind farming. I assumed the poster was upset at the only thing impacting farming in this patch: the Tanker changes. Tanker AE farms are fine. Fixed it for you. Sorry about that.
  17. Yes! I would love to be able to decline white and yellow salvage. I delete all that stuff anyway because it’s worthless and requires more hand movement to sell for nothing than to delete. Yes pls.

  21. Sorry but giving Tankers Icy Bastion at the cost of a little baby double click is a big generous buff from the devs and there’s no way around it.

  23. This isn’t a blaster secondary. It has a self resistance shield, a self defense shield, an ally heal (and at T1?), no recovery sustain power, and no damage boost power. Do you want to take a look at what blaster secondaries do and get back to us with a 2nd draft?
