Do they skip Tornado or something I guess? Storm Summoning was infamously labeled an “active detriment” (lowest tier possible) to 4 star teams in Loc’s early guide. I would have never dreamed of trying to join one with any of my Storms. I guess it does become easier to justify carry slots when you’re running with overpowered changelings that simultaneously fill a Tanker and a Blaster spot with just one character, but still. I’d be interested to see a build screenshot.

I disparaged Mez for lying and deliberately obfuscating objective reality. No one was disparaged for opinions. Do you have anything truthful to say? FYI: the old blurb about me being the most hated person on this forum was stated because I objectively lead the pack on down thumb emoji reactions. I have also been on forums where I had the highest reputation score on the forums. So I generally attribute that statistic to half a dozen people on this forum that have been after me for years, since there isn’t a broader trend. Not really a big deal to me.

Sorcery is an Origin Pool and Magic is an Origin and not the basis of a powerset available to five origins. Search function demonstrates this has been settled before many times over. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

The fact that someone posted a 200 DPS blaster build thinking it was built out for offense makes me feel pretty validated. IMO the case is closed.

If challenge settings that the game doesn’t incentivize are the best justification for soft capping… I think we won this debate boys.

The only reason a 4 star build couldn’t handle all of the above is because of arbitrary player decisions like foregoing inspiration use. There is no in-game incentive to solo a +4x8 ITF with no inspirations; that limitation is basically only there to justify personal build choices. Whereas the reasons that soft cap builds will fail a 4 star lady grey is not arbitrary at all. The content actually requires something specific out of your build (primarily DPS). Big difference. Also, to address the last paragraph, the people on my friends list that are doing several 4 star TF’s a day are definitely making more cash per unit of time than my poor farmer. Ended my marketeering career a couple of years ago for being mind-numbingly boring so no comment there.

Hard content is really just the Omega K’ong fight. Everything else? Pretty easy for mediocre players to fly under the radar. But that fight is an auto fail if you’re carrying too much dead weight. The team is still afforded one or two carry slots if everyone else is exceptional, but anymore and you take the L. As a result I consider it kind of rude to show up to that TF with an off-meta toon without asking the leader first. Because once you do, you’re disallowing the rest of the team from playing anything off-meta and claiming the carry spot for yourself. Mez loves that carry spot, I can tell you that 😉

Ice Armor is great; you’ll be fine. No, don’t bother taking Hibernate on a Tanker. I think the only powerset in the game where I feel like I actually have to justify getting all 9 powers is Scrapper/Brute/Tanker Bio Armor.

Rudra is correct. Nothing that you could possibly recoup from this (recipe and salvage both with nigh zero sale prices) that would be worth implementing new systems.

I think when I calculated everything it was clear that Sniper Rifle, Ignite, and Char were the three best ST attacks and Strangler might have been just a hair better than Slug as a 4th attack. But Slug is basically required anyway and could do about the same job as Strangler while still getting some kind of set bonus. Unless your primary has no good ST options (like Electric where I really only want to use Zapp), I can’t imagine where I’d want any of the secondary holds besides Choking Powder. And obviously Freezing Touch / Seismic Smash if counting those. They often have hefty animations and at least one melee power further down the set does way more DPA.
