  1. Don’t feel too bad for me; I do bite back a smidge. But yeah that’s the state of things from my perspective.
  2. (1) Some posters on this forum have been antagonizing me and insulting me for a span of several years. Their sheer hatred for me couldn’t be more obvious. So, while there is merit to your first paragraph, I don’t really intend to extend grace in this scenario. I’d just get the same big fat middle finger from these folks either way. (2) Okay, so maybe it can exist. But perhaps, if toxic positivity really exists, we can prove it with receipts rather than smear with insinuations. If posters are just going to use this term as a baseless insult rather than an argument, I’d say the term is still bullshit in this case.
  3. To address you, my PoV is that there is a lot of “the devs are a volunteer team btw” and “I think this feature is fine as is”, but beyond that this feels like a bit of hyperbole. And I never liked the DDL term either. That being said, (1) it’s been awhile since we’ve had a big beta patch to argue about so it’s quite possible my memory is fuzzy and (2) you have presumably been on the receiving end of this stuff and are thus more likely to have some bad memories of it than I am. So, I’m not saying you’re wrong about what you’ve experienced, but this new term still seems like bullshit to me. As does every other term that follows the format of “toxic _______”. I’m open to reviewing past examples but I don’t see that rabbit hole as necessary.
  4. The problem that you’re not addressing is the fact mentioned above that people can be invited to a 1 man SG by accident. Hotkeys and whatnot. Apparently JJ’s done it and I know I’ve received accidental invites from unaware teammates multiple times as well. That said, I feel like the right permissions settings would address that issue? Not sure what JJ is doing there.
  5. I’m sorry you’re exasperated. I wish everyone would just agree with me too. But apparently you get pushback when you decide to shit all over people you don’t like. It’s the way of the world. We will be okay. Maybe.
  6. At the end of the day, this term is designed to deride people for having a certain opinion and implies that said people couldn’t have arrived at said opinion in good faith (obviously without any evidence of bad faith). In other words, it’s a word used to smear those we disagree with, as we’ve already established. Personally, there’s a silver lining to these kinds of dishonest words existing. That silver lining being: it helps one to quickly identify people with bad intentions. Like, no matter who you align with, I’m sure we can all think of some political buzzwords where all credibility is thrown out the window the second you read that word in an article. That kind of thing.
  7. Hey guys just fyi my flight home was delayed 5 times and I plan to be a little less aggressive tomorrow.
  8. Yeah I read the article after I made that initial post. Essentially people that use the term are frustrated that the game in question isn’t conforming to their every whim, so, in their frustration, they use this term to slander the majority of the player base. Pretty disgusting shit.
  9. Okay I know what this thread is about now. Toxic positivity is a new term invented for the sole purpose of smearing people that are enjoying a game rather than agreeing with another’s disdain for it. Good to know there’s more bad faith bullshit out there. PSA: it is not toxic to enjoy a video game. It is 110% toxic to call people toxic for enjoying a video game.
  10. So is anyone going to explain what toxic positivity is? I can guess, but my guess is that it’s bullshit.
  11. Just to chime in here: I’m primarily farming with my spines/fire still because I’m addicted to the vet levels. But I did make a new afk farming assistant on my main account in the last year for when I’m not already sitting on something on that account. And Stone/Rad is where I wound up too. Brimstone + Rooted is just exactly what the afk farm doctor ordered. Edit: and I do believe the Stone/Rad was notably faster than the Spines/Fire, the few times I’ve had them simultaneously sitting in separate maps.
  12. Well maybe I’m outvoted. Certainly damage procs could still improve a damage aura’s output, but I’m still under the impression that they make a more radical difference in single target attacks and high recharge AoE’s. So I usually use my aura and my low recharge AoE’s to get my accuracy/recharge bonus situation in order. But that’s just me.
  13. As a side note, no matter who it’s coming from, I view “don’t like it don’t do it” as a logical fallacy and just ignore that argument with an eyeroll now. Obviously everything is interconnected here and affects everyone.
  14. That blows 😞 my friend never set the proper permissions and had a rando take all her stuff too, a few months back. I’ve noticed the same thing with occasionally finding I have a server friend I don’t recognize. Presumably because I right-clicked them and touched some hotkey. I also seem to frequently touch whatever hotkey is for unfriending, but thankfully that comes with a prompt.
  15. The best things to do with damage auras are usually to pursue acc/dam/end, some set bonuses, and any self-buffing procs. For instance a Tanker damage aura with 4 SMotT (including proc) and 1 SGF proc is doing a lot of self buffing (on top of the nice bonuses) unless you’re one on one with an AV. Blaster defiant barrage is another example of a self buffing proc that fires reliably when you square off against groups. Procs that affect enemies are better used in other powers.
  16. My farmer has three builds, so no one build has to work overtime. (1) AFK farm build (2) Active farm build (3) Non farm build. I recommend it.
  17. The funny thing about MM’s is that their strongest stat is single target DPS, and yet they’re more or less banned from the content where single target DPS matters the most in the game. So, yeah, there’s a little bit more to the MM issue than people just being ignorant of pylon times.
  18. Personally I don’t usually bother broadcasting restrictions when filling out a group with pugs. Half the respondents in LFG just ignore those restrictions and ask to join anyway. But I don’t think not wanting to play with masterminds reflects on one’s character at all, and I don’t even find it unreasonable.
  19. I like Spirit Tree and Triage Beacon well enough. They were never supposed to give you Instant Healing or whatever people are expecting. And both are better than multiple alternatives in their respective sets. If they got bumped from 150% base to 200-250% I wouldn’t throw a tantrum though.
  20. Anyone know what’s problematic about anything the OP alleged? I see respondents essentially implying that the OP ran into posters who are “jerks” or “rude” or “elitest”, but I don’t see that reflected anywhere in the OP.
  21. Just remember… the OP wants you all to believe that quality ideas like this would be implemented if not for evil posters like Rudra and myself.
  22. I am in favor of: - Proliferation of more Minimal FX options. - Creation of more alternative animation options as the developers are able. I am NOT in favor of: - Porting animations from one set or pool to another. If you want Martial Arts animations, play Martial Arts.
  23. Jaunt is a long range Combat Teleport, not the power Teleport. If you want it to have hangtime and unlimited uses, you will have to have a much slower animation. I don’t personally want that to happen, because we already have Teleport and Translocation for that sort of thing. Combat Teleport and Jaunt fill a completely different niche and do not need hangtime or unlimited uses. I use both Teleport and Combat Teleport regularly on all of my characters because both have their use cases. Adding a hover effect to Jaunt or Combat Teleport would actually be a nerf in several use cases. Working as intended. No issue.
  24. As others have mentioned, if you want a pure sandbox instead of a serious game, there are better servers than Homecoming for that.
