  1. There are no minimum requirements for defense or resistance for a good build - you might’ve been talking to noobs.
  2. In all seriousness I think the guy whose messages you see on your screen no matter where you are is a bigger problem.
  3. I simply can’t buy this anymore, now that Prismatic Aether prices are at an all time low. It now costs waaay less than a character’s IO build to buy a T3 Aether item (<50% if you do full builds with purples and boosters), and I simply don’t buy that the average player is struggling to fund IO’s for alts in Homecoming. Extensive experience with both the game and the forums indicates that level of cost is very much manageable.
  4. The devs themselves probably disagree with me and are fine with it but just haven’t got to it yet. But personally I hope they don’t add free secondary auras because I think it would further devalue the lovely Tier 3 Prismatic Aether Effects they graciously gave us.
  5. I can confidently say from lots of pylon testing in the past that beam doesn’t hold a candle to a lot of other S/T killers.
  6. I could easily think up a CoH challenge *you* would be averse to even trying, FWIW. So the constant grandstanding about game difficulty is just plain tiresome.
  7. Just FYI Team Teleport and ATT are not remotely comparable. Nobody picks Team Teleport so you could be forgiven for not knowing this.
  8. Ice Blast is already the #1 meta set in the settings where single target damage matters, and you want it to be better? Obviously not gonna happen.
  9. I just want there to be a badge for veteran level 1,000. Voltor alone would set the whole place on fire though, were I to get it.
  10. Only looked at the most recent big patch and immediately found an example of a suggestion that was implemented…
  11. Why exactly is this owed to anyone? I play one video game and only one. If I made a suggestion on this subforum, and someone told me to go play another game I have zero interest in, I would say they were being deliberately unhelpful to say the least.
  12. To address this idea head on, instead of the unhelpful snark I displayed earlier: When the role diversity bonus of a Prismatic Aether was on beta, I learned something. Apparently, if you offer a compelling reward to a group that completes a certain task in a certain way, the people that don’t want to play that way and thus don’t get the reward feel punished, even if it was their own choice to not engage with that challenge. So… I guess that’s the primary counter to a “don’t like it, don’t have to do it” type of argument. I don’t totally know if that’s a good counter-argument, but that’s what some people will think. My problem with this suggestion is more that it takes 20 years of precedent that dying in this game does not matter that much and suddenly throws it out the window. I’ll admit it: I have zero problem with dying when I play CoH. I love charging in like Leroy. Sometimes I joke that Rise of the Phoenix is part of my attack chain, or that I just wanted the large inspirations from Return to Battle. It doesn’t have huge consequences, so it’s not too stigmatizing to me. Also, in the last year or two, I have made all of my characters substantially more prone to death because they’re all built 4 star style with minimal def/res. The amount of respecing I would have to do, were this to become a new meta thing… no thanks to that. So my main disappointment with this suggestion is that it specifically targets players like me and turns them into second class citizens. I guess that means I would feel punished, so maybe those people are correct. For that reason, I’m out.
  13. I was agreeing with you.
  14. That’s pretty much his schtick on this forum, yes. “Play Dark Souls or stfu, pussy.” That and literally musing that perhaps Homecoming should be shut down because a couple people on the forums aren’t in lockstep with his opinions, I guess.
  15. Is it possible to simply disable the problematic powers in the Hive / Abyss? I mean, select travel powers are disabled in the final stage of the 4 star Lady Grey.
  16. Fights do break out over there because people take disagreement in all sorts of ways. Disagreement quickly turns to insults, and the place gets ugly. But I don’t see how the disagreement itself constitutes a problem, nor do I see how “few ideas from there making it into the game at all” constitutes a problem. Most of the ideas posted in that subforum are pretty flawed. Musing that perhaps more of them should be added to the game sounds rash and misguided to me.
  17. This isn’t happening in reality. Players are either killing Surgeons with their AoE’s, or they’re shooting down leftover Surgeons to stop big targets from getting healed. No one is carefully avoiding Surgeons like they’re raisins in a trail mix.
  18. This is a tough one 😞 easily my favorite director. Twin Peaks, Lost Highway, and Mulholland Drive all had profound impacts on me, to say nothing of the rest. I wasn’t really watching TV of film at all at the time, so I actually found Lynch through a rather obscure backdoor: the operatic adaptation of Lost Highway by Olga Neuwirth https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lost_Highway_(opera) I guess Twin Peaks season 3 left things pretty open-ended with the finale, but now we’ll never know.
  19. Fair enough. First bolded part. Yeah, that’s probably what it is. As long as everyone knows it was provoked, I’m personally okay with the middle finger. Moderation team and I are in continual disagreement on this viewpoint. Second bolded part. You’re right here too. But I’m generally not claiming innocence. Just trying to be treated fairly and wanting people to recognize that this is a cycle being perpetuated by more than one side.
  20. Why is it particularly problematic to point out that a lot of people see Sai as acting in the exact way he is accusing others of acting? It’s not a wildly controversial take.

  23. Scenarios with plausible deniability are not all that is happening, though. For example, today’s events were pretty cut and dry. This scenario literally happened today: Person A insults Person B (and a host of others) Person B responds to Person A with snark, albeit with kinder words than those used by Person A Person B has their post removed and receives a warning. Person A does not have their post removed, does not receive a warning (we know this because the first thing that happens with a warning is a removed post), and gets a pat on the back from his buddies. What is your explanation? I asked the GM who did this for an explanation and all they did was tell me the entire thing was my fault for being stupid enough to engage with someone who is insulting me. How exactly is this anything but a middle finger directly from the GM to me?
  24. Honestly just put this guy in the game. Give him his own TF for all I care. If it gets a couple of our most vicious insult-prone posters to go back to sleep, the peace of mind will be worth it.
