  1. It may be worth it to look for cheaper ATOs and try to convert them to the set you want. The one converter transformation changes it to a different ATO set, so it may be way cheaper to gamble up the first three or four and then buy the ones you specifically need. Also take a look at the cost for catalyzers in inf and merits to see if it's worth it to buy regular ATOs and make them superior on your own.
  2. We played that way for ages, and I still do when leveling characters I do the same with my new alts. No big deal to run "naked" until they can slot level 30 white IOs.
  3. Don't forget about the new mechanics for exploration badges. Finding them gives you rest XP, so if you can it's a good idea to take a break to find them while you're soloing to keep getting rested XP.
  4. I can't help but think of all the hatches and doors leading down I've gone through in my years playing the game that would be perfectly good SG baes entrance points. The only wrinkle may be the one in they SG base. I don't know that could be reskinned as one of the things I mentioned. Still it's a good idea for the suggestions forum. You should post it there so it's not buried here.
  5. Particles is the big one on my laptop. I'm fine in a group of eight, but it noticeably heats up in league events like BAF or MSR. The command you want is noparticles, but you don't want to leave it off permanently since things like SG base portals are particles and will disappear with particles off. I recommend macros to turn them on and off without typing. /noparticles 1 This turns off particles. /noparticles 0 This turns particles back on. That may feel a bit weird, but you're turning on and off the thing that stops particles from happening. As macros, they would just be /macro NoP "noparticles 1" That makes a button labeled NoP you can move to trays like any other power button. You'll need to make another macro to turn particles back on, but I'll leave that as an exercise for the student. Let me know if you're stuck and I'll give the answer to you.
  6. Rolled her early, and I got a TW/Elec brute. It's a pretty good combo. She's devastating once she gets some fury going, the damage aura keeps mobs beating on her to keep the fury up, and Energize keeps the thirsty TW powers going.
  7. I can assure everyone that no hero in the New Order Of Bold Superheroes (my personal SG) will out these folks.
  8. I'd guess the low teens since contacts are reluctant to give me their cell phone number, and I have to walk back to them after the first mission to report completion personally.
  9. What an idiot I am for forgetting that! I'll leave the original comment there so I can model good behavior by not doubling down and arguing the point after being proven wrong.
  10. They already have a big endurance cost when running and it's just busy work to make me keep recasting them. I guess they could instead be made normal expiring buffs like Fortitude, but then I could stack enough recharge to cast them on multiple teammates which seems overpowered.
  11. I like the suggested change, but what about having an endurance reduction proc? I big end discount would let the brute unload their big damage attacks without draining their blue bar. I realize that things like Cardiac fix that, but being able to deal tons of damage every 15-20 seconds for (almost) free means you wouldn't need Cardiac and could take something else.
  12. I'm thinking No Pants: PBAOE 10ft radius that inflicts a magnitude 10 frighten on all allies for 20 seconds.
  13. I guess as an alternative for the people that don't want to make their own base, it's ok. It absolutely shouldn't replace the current base system. I'd be ragequit the game angry if all the time I put into my (crappy) base vanished in a puff of smoke and were replaced with that. Honsetly, it's a bummer that the Shining Stars arc doesn't have a little base building tutorial seeing as one of the themes is them getting their own base. I suspect it couldn't really be done in the game.
  14. No AOE can have it's radius increased. You can only improve the distance you can toss/throw/shoot it.
  15. My 50s tend to go on the back burner because I keep making alts. I ended up using this mapserver to get all my alts (about three tabs worth) up to level 35. That lets all of them get the patron pools, join the Vanguard for MSR, and explore Cimerora to get there easily to do ITF. Now I have a spring/summer project to get everyone to 50 and then pick some to get all the incarnate stuff on them. Basically, it's fine to have characters you don't really play. Put them in a tab at the back and get back to them when you're sick of playing your other characters. If that never happens, free shrugs. You have 1,000 slots so you're not running out of room.
  16. I can hide player names. I can hide villain names. But I somehow -need- to have pet names clogging up my screen? There's absolutely no reason for this when I have all other names turned off.
  17. I thought it was an Elton John song. "Hold me close, attuned enhancers"
  18. My characters all self-fund until level 40 just for the challenge. The one exception is that stealth characters can dip into the inf fund to get ATT. Once they're in AP, it's straight to Pocket D to visit Null the Gull. Then the P2W vendor (or whatever she's called now) to get double XP and the other goodies. From there, my preference is to hop on a "taking any level" mission team, or the backup plan is go Punch a handful of Hellions in AP until level 2. Not strictly necessary but gives you an extra power right away for step 2. Do DFB. Since you leveled up to 2 already, you're not one of the people that has to immediately run back to the trainer after the first group. Do DFB again. The second one is just to hit level 8. Two DFB runs should also give me enough enhancements to sell and buy Reveal. (huge quality of life improvement). The rest of the inf is seed money to start selling converters later. Lead a Posi 1. Nice and easy at level 8 since there won't be any ruin mages. On melee toons, I'll turn the merits to converters and sell them if I can grab a cheap KB protection for those stupid ruin mages. Posi 2. Yin. By the end of Yin, I'll be leveled enough to start slotting the level 25 white IOs if I feel lacking in anything. Otherwise, I'll suck it up until 27 when I definitely stop, sell merits, and grab level 30 whites to fill everything up.
  19. I'd love to have plaques like under the Atlas statue where I can write the text box. Aside from self guided base tours, having a list of where the waypoints go would make the base more user friendly.
  20. I have wished for this so many times, or alternately to be able to ctrl-click as many powers to autofire as I want would be a game changing QoL improvement. I could play the character instead of having to keep all the plates spinning.
  21. That's along the lines of what I originally thought of, but I didn't like the look of colored water powers. Instead I made Prismatic Pugilist with a rainbow of brightly colored dark melee and fire armor powers.
  22. To contribute to the thread, Fists Galore-Kinetic/Energy stalker Shiny Metal Arsenal-Arsenal/Arsenal dom Kill-Aid Man-Ice/Ice brute To contribute to the community, the following names are available as I'm tying this since I just got rid of the characters. Shivered Timber. Was going to be a pirate themed storm/plant pirate controller. Ended up as the druid themed Briar Storm instead. Pollock Jackson. Was going to be my "colorful darkness" toon, but couldn't think of a good fish theme.
  23. What next? Ordering a pizza over the phone and talking to another human?
  24. I have a ton of alts, so this is just a selection. Shiny Metal Arsenal, Blue Dauber: contact or "mission helper" to go after Arachnos Guiding Blade: contact for an arc of missions against the Lost themed as rescuing them. Woods Warden, Briar Storm: contacts in Eden to fight Devouring Earth. Possibly also northern Talos or Peregrine to clear out the islands in the north part of each Chunky Cherub: Valentine's Day missions. Steam Punker: Main contact in my reimagined Synapse part one TF that takes place in Boomtown. Shoots and LADDERS: Vanguard contact in RWZ
  25. I play on a laptop and do the same, but when you try and implement your strategy expect a chorus of "that's not how I do it" and "well we're already at the last hero" as they don't stop. They also say lots of bad words that hurt my innocent eyes to see after I kick them for it. Not right away of course. The kick comes after we beat the shadow doubles.
