  1. Maybe rebrand the police scanner as the Hero Corp app? Then running missions is the hero version of doing some work for Uber/DoorDash/etc. Then the main company can be mercenary, but all the money happens in the background and doesn't sully the player's hands.
  2. I have a brute with Psi and Force of Will and it's great fun. Wall of Force is great procced out to give you varied damage, and I like the AOE KD from Takeoff too. The brute choice wasn't driven by psi, but by the probably not optimal choice of Willpower as the secondary. The higher HP total of brutes and tankers gets more out of a secondary based on regeneration. The synergies people are bringing up here are better choices. And so far the most satisfying thing is tearing up Paragon Protectors when they pop Moment of Glory. It's a huge defense buff to everything...but psi damage.
  3. I'm leveling one right now and it's definitely offensive unless it's an intensive fight where I drop into efficient. Even if I'm in efficient, I'll go offensive before pop the aim+nuke combo.
  4. I temper my alt-itis by having a personal rule that I can't have more than two characters without a bio written that's at least five lines long.
  5. By resources I mean things like Tidal Power for water blast, Static for electrical affinity, Blood Frenzy for savage melee, etc. As things are, the only way I can easily see how much I have is to show autopowers and clutter up my screen with unhelpful information such as telling me I have sprint turned on or that all my auto-powers for Invulnerability are active. If it would be an easier solution, I'd be fine with adding it to combat attributes and I can put it on my monitored list.
  6. Movement 4/5. Most jumps are easier than you think, and the biggest contributor to missed cones is the target dying when the cone is queued up as the next power and the game autotargeting another mob. I blame the game for that though. All cones should be facing cones and not targeted cones. Leader 1/5. I have little patience for many of the people in PUGs. I'll set challenges like time and limited defeats, but I'm never hardcore about achieving them. Builds 3/5. I can make a competent build, but don't have the detailed knowledge of set bonuses to really weave together a really good build. Badging 1.75/5. I have a badge tracking mod for the exploration ones, but it's not really an interest of mine to ferret them all out. Maybe once I get some full Incarnates... Key binds. 4.5/5, I have a text file of keybinds that has lots of QoL binds plus the stadard MM ones (and I've modified those to have emotes along with them). A big help with this is the Technical Reference Guide you can find at shenanigunner.com In game knowledge 4.5/5. I'm a nerd that likes to write bios for my characters, so I've read a lot of extra material to weave things into those bios. Stuff like living in White Plains when the disaster that made it into Crey's Folly happened.
  7. A few of mine Stormied Annuals Storm/Plant blaster. Incisive political commentary! Pratfall Forcefield/Energy defender. Built for maximum KD/KB, and great fun exemped down for TFs Raining Cats and Dogs Beasts/Storm mastermind. Charging Cattle Electric/Shield scrapper Gratuitous Windup Kinetc/Regen scrapper. Someday I hope to hit something with the T9 kinetic attack before the rest of the team kills it. Shoots and LADDERS Beam Rifle/Electric Armor sentinel. With LADDERS (Local AI Driven Destructive Energy Release System) being the name of the gun. Bobby Q Fire/Fire/Fire sentinel. Midnight Fister Street Justice/Energy Armor stalker Lady Beatdown Super Reflexes/Martial Arts tank Otto Ignition Fire/Fire tank.
  8. I don't get why you want to be at the motel if there are already tons of people there. Plenty of other places with lots of doors you can go to.
  9. I'm unclear as to what you're asking for. I'm pretty sure he's suggesting a swap to another character without going through the character select screen. Like if I were playing Batman, I could type /altswap Robin (I'm totally making up the command here), and the game would logoff Batman and go right to logging in as Robin. And the account would have a 10 minute cooldown to use that command again.
  10. Obviously if the answer is yes, I'd like it, but don't want to demand something the game architecture cannot do. Specifically the LFG channel would be all I need, but I'm keeping the request generic in case others want to read the sparkling repartee of General or something. I think we've all been there when we log in, scroll through all those alt-itis characters, enter the game, and immediately find I should have picked a different character because of a group forming in LFG. I then have to back out and pick that other character. It feels like a lot of wasted time that could have been avoided if I could see the LFG channel from the start. To be super clear, I don't need to be able to interact with the chat at all; just see it. I'm fine waiting to send the "I'll do Manticore" tell once I enter the game with my selected toon.
  11. Sounds like a good idea. I do the same thing and feel the same annoyance. Purely as a workaround to keep things in syne, if you're using macros or keybinds to both activate fly+change to jetpack and land+change back, you can hit them again once the timer is done and it'll do the costume change to the proper costume.
  12. I thought the same thing with my Rad/SS tanker until I made a build where I only have four powers from SS--and that because I'm forced to take the T1 or T2.
  13. That's a fantastic Idea I'm 100% onboard for. It's thematically better and spreads out players which makes things easier on the computers.
  14. I was busy over the holidays last year, but this coming winter Claus Combat will be taking to the streets of Paragon City
  15. There's that part early in the game where the villain says this after bringing Arachnos to Paragon City. And then once you get a police scanner and use it in a low level area, the popup says "The events here seem to be beneath your notice."
  16. I've got 3 in regular rotation. Little Red 'Vette: Savage/Bio. Kind of fell by the wayside since she was an earlier character for me and bio was a bit complicated. I've recently started using her again, and I really like how she tears things up. Guiding Blade: Katana/Energy. Probably my favorite melee character with a weapon. Spring attack into groups and start slicing and dicing. LMN8R: Martial/Elec. I like the flow with MA, and prefer this guy to my MA/SR tank.
  17. Some I was surprised hadn't been taken Mt. Kilimarjaro Three Body Problem Inscription
  18. Not really a typo, but I don't think it merits its own bug report. On the help window, the levels that powers unlock is out of date. T9 powers haven't unlocked at level 35 in a looooong time.
  19. As a history lesson, The Inherent pool used to be the fitness pool, and only took on its current form because...wait for it...it was constraining builds because it was so good everyone took it. You certainly don't seem to mind that change. Similarly, Hasten is too good to be without and means your four pool choices are really only three, and THAT is what I want to break. There are more ways than that of making it happen though. I'd be just as happy if Hasten's recharge could not be reduced like with Rune of Protection. That gets rid of perma-Hasten making the skill much less valuable and less of a must-have. Or change the minor endurance drain at the end to a moderate -recovery effect (let's pull -40% for 60 seconds out our rear ends). That's not a big deal if Hasten is something you pop for a boss fight, but having permanent hasten permanently gimps your character. I've got plenty of ideas for those other powers too, but I don't want a big sidetrack on the details of those. Plus, there's a huge difference between taking a power just to slot enhancements into vs one you take for the power's effects. Your blaster isn't taking hasten so it can hold two -recharge IOs, and they aren't taking weave or maneuvers for the defense bonus.
  20. Honestly, the near universality of Hasten makes me think it should be added to the Inherent pool. Either as a fifth option or by combining Leaping and Speed into a single power. In my perfect world, inherent hasten would still need to be picked as a power, That would free up a another pool selection so we can have or see some diversification. Then the speed pool can be what you want it to be: a garage sale version of Speedster primary/secondary pool.
  21. I'm leveling up a hero with martial arts and love that I can choose the animation I want for the various attacks. I've also noticed that when I exemp down and need to put kick back in the lineup, that it feels...unimpressive. I'm doing all sorts of flashy, hard hitting moves, but I only do a little "eh" kick that is supposed to knock people down? So for the official suggestion: I think the fighting pool powers should each have a kick and punch option to customize the character. All the effects would be exactly the same. This is just a cosmetic change. I'm hard set on this part, but here are some suggestions for animations to choose from: Boxing: Initial Strike (from Street Justice) or the current Kick animation Kick: Current Boxing animation or Thunder Kick (from Martial Arts) Cross Punch: Current Cross Punch or Spinning Kick (From Martial Assault) I'll admit I didn't look at every animation in the game, so feel free to suggest others--Frozen Fists without the ice would be a good example. The powers may also merit a renaming since they wouldn't be punch vs kick anymore, so we can brainstorm those too. To get that ball rolling, how about the fighting pool changing to: -Spar -Strike -Tough -Weave -Sweep
  22. Fooling around in mids makes me agree with you. So I guess I'm having twins with two baby doms!
  23. Thanks for the replies! I'm still working on a final spec, but if you see Flaming Lava Spikes in game feel free to say hi.
