I thought the same thing with my Rad/SS tanker until I made a build where I only have four powers from SS--and that because I'm forced to take the T1 or T2.
-
That's a fantastic Idea I'm 100% onboard for. It's thematically better and spreads out players which makes things easier on the computers.

I was busy over the holidays last year, but this coming winter Claus Combat will be taking to the streets of Paragon City -
There's that part early in the game where the villain says this after bringing Arachnos to Paragon City. And then once you get a police scanner and use it in a low level area, the popup says "The events here seem to be beneath your notice."

I've got 3 in regular rotation. Little Red 'Vette: Savage/Bio. Kind of fell by the wayside since she was an earlier character for me and bio was a bit complicated. I've recently started using her again, and I really like how she tears things up. Guiding Blade: Katana/Energy. Probably my favorite melee character with a weapon. Spring attack into groups and start slicing and dicing. LMN8R: Martial/Elec. I like the flow with MA, and prefer this guy to my MA/SR tank.

Some I was surprised hadn't been taken Mt. Kilimarjaro Three Body Problem Inscription

Not really a typo, but I don't think it merits its own bug report. On the help window, the levels that powers unlock is out of date. T9 powers haven't unlocked at level 35 in a looooong time.

Speedsters, Burst of Speed and a Speed Pool revamp
Random Axis replied to Rigged's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
As a history lesson, The Inherent pool used to be the fitness pool, and only took on its current form because...wait for it...it was constraining builds because it was so good everyone took it. You certainly don't seem to mind that change. Similarly, Hasten is too good to be without and means your four pool choices are really only three, and THAT is what I want to break. There are more ways than that of making it happen though. I'd be just as happy if Hasten's recharge could not be reduced like with Rune of Protection. That gets rid of perma-Hasten making the skill much less valuable and less of a must-have. Or change the minor endurance drain at the end to a moderate -recovery effect (let's pull -40% for 60 seconds out our rear ends). That's not a big deal if Hasten is something you pop for a boss fight, but having permanent hasten permanently gimps your character. I've got plenty of ideas for those other powers too, but I don't want a big sidetrack on the details of those. Plus, there's a huge difference between taking a power just to slot enhancements into vs one you take for the power's effects. Your blaster isn't taking hasten so it can hold two -recharge IOs, and they aren't taking weave or maneuvers for the defense bonus. -
Speedsters, Burst of Speed and a Speed Pool revamp
Random Axis replied to Rigged's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Honestly, the near universality of Hasten makes me think it should be added to the Inherent pool. Either as a fifth option or by combining Leaping and Speed into a single power. In my perfect world, inherent hasten would still need to be picked as a power, That would free up a another pool selection so we can have or see some diversification. Then the speed pool can be what you want it to be: a garage sale version of Speedster primary/secondary pool. -
I'm leveling up a hero with martial arts and love that I can choose the animation I want for the various attacks. I've also noticed that when I exemp down and need to put kick back in the lineup, that it feels...unimpressive. I'm doing all sorts of flashy, hard hitting moves, but I only do a little "eh" kick that is supposed to knock people down? So for the official suggestion: I think the fighting pool powers should each have a kick and punch option to customize the character. All the effects would be exactly the same. This is just a cosmetic change. I'm hard set on this part, but here are some suggestions for animations to choose from: Boxing: Initial Strike (from Street Justice) or the current Kick animation Kick: Current Boxing animation or Thunder Kick (from Martial Arts) Cross Punch: Current Cross Punch or Spinning Kick (From Martial Assault) I'll admit I didn't look at every animation in the game, so feel free to suggest others--Frozen Fists without the ice would be a good example. The powers may also merit a renaming since they wouldn't be punch vs kick anymore, so we can brainstorm those too. To get that ball rolling, how about the fighting pool changing to: -Spar -Strike -Tough -Weave -Sweep

Fooling around in mids makes me agree with you. So I guess I'm having twins with two baby doms!

Thanks for the replies! I'm still working on a final spec, but if you see Flaming Lava Spikes in game feel free to say hi.

In the guides forum there's a post on this. The answer is no, but the replies have a lot of good tips. Here's a link.

I wanted to pick the forum's brain for my new dom. To combat alt-itis, I have a private rule to try and not have repeat powersets, so for the new one it's limited to Primary Electric Fire Ice Mind Secondary Earth Ice Thorny I don't want to say no ice/ice, but I've already got dual ice on a blaster and a stalker, so the dom will need a good elevator pitch for the set combination. Given all those completely arbitrary restrictions, what would you folks go for? No need for a build since they'll be rocking with white IOs for a while, but I'd also be interested in any must-have/must-skip powers in the set.

The game is glutted with the storm blast powerset, but I have a storm/plants blaster named Stormied Annuals stashed away for later. -
Everyone uses poopsocks these days.
-
OP said they have the Sudden Acceleration KB>KD enhancement, so the hurricane isn't doing any knockback. The enemies they're seeing be pushed away are being repelled.
-
It's a repel, not a knockback. There's nothing to mitigate it. Best thing you can do is position yourself so the enemy is pushed in a useful direction.
-
My problem is less with knockback itself and more with misusing knockback. I'm 100% ok it once I've pulled the group up against a wall or into a corner. Blast on them all you want. It's a different story when people zip into groups and unleash a PBAOE with knockback or use it to push mobs away from the melee people. That's how I use it on my Forcefield/Energy defender. All the AOE powers got changed to knockdown, but the cone and force bolt have KB ramped up so I can use him like a leaf blower to push mobs into the whirlpools, rains of fire, and foot stomping tanks the rest of the team is laying down.

A collapse in the market also lowers the game playability
Random Axis replied to Diantane's topic in General Discussion
I'll throw in enhancements like endurance reductions on a case by case basis if the toon needs it or conveniently dropped recipes, but I can normally stick it out to do the filling all slots until 27. -
Let's get ready to rrruuuummmble... buildin' a wrassler?
Random Axis replied to ThaOGDreamWeaver's topic in Brute
I like it as a slightly shorter ranged combat teleport if I'm already in the teleport pool. -

I run double XP and can't fathom blowing that kind of money on a new toon. I'm not even sure I'll keep a character until they hit 22-27 and I find I like the powersets. I spend 2 mil at level 27 filling slots with level 30 IOs and consider that a lot to spend. Those IOs will sit there until they get replaced with set enhancements or a level 50 IO if they'll never get a set--like in Hasten. There's no content that's so bleeding edge before 50 that the miniscule boost from upgrading IOs as you level is worth it. -
In my opinion, stalkers are there to take down the tougher mobs that don't evaporate when the rest of the team dumps their AOE on the group of enemies, so speeding up killing bosses and AVs is your team contribution. For a more general meaning of support, I like my ice/ice stalker. I've got frost and chilling embrace to apply a slow, ice patch for knockdown zone, and freezing touch for powerful hold on a quick recharge.

What's the smallest change to CoX that you really want?
Random Axis replied to DougGraves's topic in General Discussion
I would like a little marker on my endurance bar to show how much I need to run my toggle powers. I don't want it to stop me from going below that. I just want to know when I am risking my toggles dropping.
