  1. My characters with stealth should be able to show off their costumes too rather than just a translucent outline. I'm easily able to tell when my stealth kicks in on the combat attributes window and by the big green "Hidden" under active power icons, so the fade isn't necessary for gameplay. EDIT: based on the suggestions by the fine people in the thread, I think a good compromise is that No Fade should add a marker (over my head maybe?) so allies know I'm hiding, so they know not to charge in after me.
  2. I've been saying that for years. It would obsolete my petless MM, but an Elemental Whip set would be fantastic. Ranged sets originating as mastermind primaries only make that thematic link stronger that MM primaries are ranged attacks with pets. My point is that saying "I want pet X" is a suggestion that will never go anywhere since all you've done is come up with the names of three powers in a set. If you don't know what the rest of the set should have, why should the devs have to do that homework for you? Taking an existing set and kitbashing it into a new one makes it easier for the suggester to include all nine powers and suggests how to implement it since the three attacks would already have animations and such.
  3. It's not a strict one for one comparison, but most MM primaries have a matching ranged power. Ranged set MM Primary Archery Ninjas Assault Rifle Mercs Beam Rifle Robots Dark Blast Necro Dual Pistols Thugs Electrical Blast Energy Blast Fire Blast Ice Blast Psychic Blast Radiation Blast Seismic Blast Sonic Attack Storm Blast Water Blast Beasts Demons Not that all the blanks need to be filled, but I think it shows there's a lot of room to pick a set; take ranged powers X, Y, and Z; add three pets, their enhance powers, and a T9. Boom. New MM Primary.
  4. My alts are all the same supergroup: New Order Of Bold Superheroes. If anyone wants more detail, here's the full /sgwho dump of names. Yeah, I've got altitis.
  5. Another good money maker early that's not in the guide is prismatic aethers. Keep an eye open in the LFG chat for any giant monsters to kill (Babbage, Goliath War Walker [called GWW], Kronos Titans, War in the Vale, etc.) Each one you kill with give you an item called Monstrous Aether that you can take to Pocket D to trade 3 monstrous for 1 prismatic aether. The prismatic will sell for around 2 million inf. Just one of them is enough money to fill your slots with level 30 crafted IOs that never expire, so you can save your inf from that point getting the set IOs in the linked build.
  6. I plan out a tricked out, endgame build and then use the alternate slotting to make a more achievable baseline build with cheaper sets to make sure the idea is workable. When leveling, I don't feel constrained by that build at all. I'll pick attacks, toggles, buffs, etc as I need them until I hit 27-30. Then I'll do a respec to more closely match the build and fill it out with white IOs.
  7. That would probably work better, but I didn't mention that all my characters have the scheme that a right double click is travel power on (plus sprint off, maybe a costume change, etc) and activates the bonus ability of the travel power, and a left double is travel power off (plus etc etc). I find binding all that stuff to a left click makes it all fire off when clicking at vendors and other menus. And while I have your attention, let me just say that your CoX Technical Guide is [Gentle caress]ing amazing! I've been using it for years.
  8. My setup is leftdoubleclick gets combat teleport and rightdoubleclick gets regular teleport. Both to the cursor.
  9. One more thing I thought of. I forgot this was a stalker which means you want to be careful about using auto Brawl. If it's active it will always be your opening attack, and I don't think I've ever wanted that to be how I come out of stealth. To save you a lot of clicking, here's the macro I use to "toggle" brawl on and off. /macro_image "Inherent_Brawl" "Boop" "powexec_auto Brawl" That creates a button that looks exactly like brawl, is named Boop, and turns auto Brawl on and off. Feel free to change the name Boop if that feels too silly for you.
  10. Not to overload you with even more stuff to think about, but power placement is important if you intend to use this character doing Weekly Strike Targets since you'll be leveled down and not have everything available. As they are now, you won't be able to use your TP powers below level 36, which cuts out low and mid tier TFs. Energy/Energy is a tight build, but here's an alternate arrangement that gives you one of your TP powers (since it sounds like a character theme) for most of your gameplay. The downside is that boxing goes away at low levels, but slapping a damage IO in brawl isn't that much worse, and brawl costs zero endurance to use. Feel free to spam it or even put it on auto.
  11. It's really about what mechanics you like. I like my earth/seismic blaster that hangs out at maximum range tossing rocks around, but also the DP/ninja blaster that dishes out PBAOEs and the weird chemicals from the experimentation pool.
  12. One of those non-HC servers had its official Discord server celebrate the birthday of Adolf Hitler, so can't say I'm really into having them come over.
  13. It may be worth it to look for cheaper ATOs and try to convert them to the set you want. The one converter transformation changes it to a different ATO set, so it may be way cheaper to gamble up the first three or four and then buy the ones you specifically need. Also take a look at the cost for catalyzers in inf and merits to see if it's worth it to buy regular ATOs and make them superior on your own.
  14. We played that way for ages, and I still do when leveling characters I do the same with my new alts. No big deal to run "naked" until they can slot level 30 white IOs.
  15. Don't forget about the new mechanics for exploration badges. Finding them gives you rest XP, so if you can it's a good idea to take a break to find them while you're soloing to keep getting rested XP.
  16. I can't help but think of all the hatches and doors leading down I've gone through in my years playing the game that would be perfectly good SG baes entrance points. The only wrinkle may be the one in they SG base. I don't know that could be reskinned as one of the things I mentioned. Still it's a good idea for the suggestions forum. You should post it there so it's not buried here.
  17. Particles is the big one on my laptop. I'm fine in a group of eight, but it noticeably heats up in league events like BAF or MSR. The command you want is noparticles, but you don't want to leave it off permanently since things like SG base portals are particles and will disappear with particles off. I recommend macros to turn them on and off without typing. /noparticles 1 This turns off particles. /noparticles 0 This turns particles back on. That may feel a bit weird, but you're turning on and off the thing that stops particles from happening. As macros, they would just be /macro NoP "noparticles 1" That makes a button labeled NoP you can move to trays like any other power button. You'll need to make another macro to turn particles back on, but I'll leave that as an exercise for the student. Let me know if you're stuck and I'll give the answer to you.
  18. Rolled her early, and I got a TW/Elec brute. It's a pretty good combo. She's devastating once she gets some fury going, the damage aura keeps mobs beating on her to keep the fury up, and Energize keeps the thirsty TW powers going.
  19. I can assure everyone that no hero in the New Order Of Bold Superheroes (my personal SG) will out these folks.
  20. I'd guess the low teens since contacts are reluctant to give me their cell phone number, and I have to walk back to them after the first mission to report completion personally.
  21. What an idiot I am for forgetting that! I'll leave the original comment there so I can model good behavior by not doubling down and arguing the point after being proven wrong.
  22. They already have a big endurance cost when running and it's just busy work to make me keep recasting them. I guess they could instead be made normal expiring buffs like Fortitude, but then I could stack enough recharge to cast them on multiple teammates which seems overpowered.
  23. I like the suggested change, but what about having an endurance reduction proc? I big end discount would let the brute unload their big damage attacks without draining their blue bar. I realize that things like Cardiac fix that, but being able to deal tons of damage every 15-20 seconds for (almost) free means you wouldn't need Cardiac and could take something else.
  24. I'm thinking No Pants: PBAOE 10ft radius that inflicts a magnitude 10 frighten on all allies for 20 seconds.
