This reminds me of one more reason I hate playing Redside. Widows and their 120 second long Smoke Grenades and their recharge debuffs. Nothing ruins my fun like being a blind infant for 2 minutes.

You forget that this is a role-playing video game. None of us are Doctor Doom but we don't need to be forced to be Henchman B. The writing forces you to take part in someone else's story, not be the mover and shaker of your own. IE: you are placed in the role of protagonists hired help, not protagonist.

I don't play Redside very often. Blueside you feel like a Hero, even at low levels. You may be greener than grass but everybody still respects you as a Hero. Redside I'm a glorified gopher and lackey and it grates on me. Ever since the Villain Archtypes were opened to Blueside I have not been back to Redside.

What we really really really need is some kind of massive plotline full of crossovers where there's some sort of crisis that collapses all the timelines back to 2004 that the fans will all end up hating. We'll call it Crisis of Infinite Years or something.

I ran an experiment on Radio Missions just the other night. Ran lvl 50+4 solo Radio Missions until I got the Safeguard. My total time was 40 minutes and my influence earnings were 4.3 million after I sold a 2 million recipe drop. That is pretty normal from my experiences chasing the defeat 25 Villain Safeguard Badge. I'm not the biggest money maker out there since I don't really care but I still manage to trick out my builds in ways that I could never do on Live.

I agree. Equality of opportunity is much more important. When you try to force outcomes it brings out all sorts of other issues. Just look at any Mayor of Baltimore for the last 30 years.

Jabs aside, your idea is pretty bad IMO. People think what they want is all the rewards with none of the effort but when you remove the effort the shiny wears off really quickly. They get bored and then they wander off somewhere else to chase the new shiny. The idea of player retention is to pace those rewards out so that there is still rewards to be chased and provide a sense of accomplishment for those efforts to keep you chasing them.

I've not seen that happen. Although I don't bother to carry them anymore as a Blaster either. Just fire away with your 1 and 2 Blasts until the mez wears off. I'll experiment tonight and see whats happening on my Main.

The two single target holds in Ice Blast were given a damage buff due to the set not having a Snipe when the Snipe changes were made.

Most of the time when that happens the mission intro text (you know, the pop-up that I suspect most people skip) has some flavor text that explains the cave led you out to an office building. Kind of weak I know but it's there.

Thousands of heroes still suffer from lack of LotG Recharge IOs. For just a handful of influence a day you can make a difference in these heroes lives. Don't forget to spay and neuter.

I remade a water themed martial artist recently as a Kinetic Melee/Bio. I'm hoping I can pass the effects off as water spray and light refraction. Or something. I haven't gotten that toon very high yet.

If I could pull two thing in from CO it would be character names being unique by adding the global handle (sic. Frostbiter@Frostbiter being a different toon on the same server as Frostbiter@JoeShmoe) and the Powerhouse. Ye Gods how I wish we had the Powerhouse.
