I also like this idea I think @Xeres has hit on something that could actually be useful for, for example GM spawns if for instance the nav panel on your hud displayed your street name... Honestly, I have less "dealing with mezzes" on my blasters than on any of my other toons, I will admit that my playstyle is heavily slanted towards blasters not being hit by anything though 😄

The global tab is a tab not a channel, there are a whole bunch of global channels, for example I have up "Excelsior" since I play on that shard, you just need to join one, then click on the channel name of any channel chat (it may be right click) that will bring up a popup list of all the channels you are a member of, select the one you want to talk in, and it will become your default chat channel (sorry I can't be more helpful I've been unable to play for a few weeks)

Honestly going by sheer player content usage the game needs a PVE zone WAY more than any other sort of zone, and my understanding was there are actually slowly appearing bits of content in there (can't say for sure haven't been in there in ages) and Kallisti's (planned) gimmick I thought was for it to be a co-op city zone?

I have nothing against the idea at all EXCEPT putting it in Kallisti, Sirens, RV, Warburg I would have no complaints, allowing pvp even specialised pvp to creep into a non pvp zone is something I don't like the idea of

To a degree, but it's not just the shiny new features, it's to the stage that patching together the mess the software is has become increasingly difficult using the out of date, and out of support developer tools, it's at the to keep what we have stable and able to support the size of the Homecoming community the back end HAS to be modernised or it will completely collapse, It will definitely allow new and awesome stuff but it HAS to happen for the game to continue to run (homecoming do not have the personnel resources NC-Soft had to bandaid the game to keep it running, it's fix it or it collapses)
